About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Connector413593324710 contributionsHighlight of our morocco tripWe booked a private tour for two, because we modified from three valleys to two valleys including Agafay desert. Traces Berberes was helpful with this modification. Our driver/guide was a great asset to make this day unforgettable! He was on time at the meeting point and we directly were heading towards the mountains. We asked him all the things we were interested in and the communication in english was fine. We stopped at some points of interestes (viewpoints to make some pics and an argan-oil-cooperative located in an original berber-house). Then he took us to Asni, where he led us through the vibrant and pulsing market.. a totallly different world. Hamid was negotiating with the dealers for some items we wanted to buy and explained what the dealers have for sale, great! Then we were going to the Kik highland - stunning - and stopped whereever we asked to make some pics. Around noon we arrived at a Berberhouse where we had a table for two, high above the ground with a nice overview in the valley. The Tajine was delicious !!! For the brave guys - the owner of the Berberhouse offered a tandem-jump with paraglider ... ;-) . We visited also the kitchen to see, where the gorgeous meals were prepared. Then we drove to the agafay and were astonished how quick the landscape changed! Hamid was not getting tired to explain all the things we were asking him about his beautiful country. Lake Lalla Takerkoust was also impressive to see and then we were heading north back to marrakech. An unforgettable trip - thanks Hamid! Your calm and friendly way to handle tourists made this possible! If we come back for a longer trip ( to sand desert?) we will try to get Hamid again as our guide.Written 15 March 2025
- I5009BFdianar0 contributionsUnforgettable Moroccan adventureWe had the absolute pleasure of spending our vacation in Morocco with Hamid as our local tour guide driver, and it's hard to put into words just how incredible our experience was. From the outset, he crafted a personalized itinerary that perfectly aligned with our interests. From the initial day trips to Ourika Valley, Agafay desert, and Essaouira, to the epic 6-night roadtrip that took us to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Atlas studios Ouarzazate, Dades Gorges, Todgha Gorges, the Sahara Desert, Fez, and Chefchaouen, Hamid was an exceptional companion and guide. He expertly crafted our itinerary based on our desires, handling all bookings for lodging and eating, and his recommendations were always spot on, leading us to hidden gems (the cedar forest in Arzou, feeding monkeys, Melaab khetars, Volubilis ruins) and unforgettable experiences. It was clear that he genuinely cared about making our trip an unforgettable experience. Hamid's passion for Moroccan culture and history shone through in his detailed explanations and anecdotes, making every visit and activity meaningful and enriching. He struck the perfect balance between sightseeing and relaxation, ensuring we saw as much as possible without feeling rushed. His fun and jovial nature made him a joy to be around, and we felt like we were traveling with a friend. Our adventure was filled with laughter, excitement, and a deep appreciation for the country's rich heritage. We cannot emphasize enough how much we loved this vacation, and it's undeniable that Hamid was the key to its success - it simply wouldn't have been the same without him. We will definitely return to Morocco and wouldn't hesitate to book Hamid's services again, and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for an unforgettable Moroccan adventure. - Diana & FedeWritten 2 February 2025
- OldKiwiNYorks0 contributionsA great day out in the high Atlas MountainsEverything about this trip was perfect. Pick up exactly on time, a large people carrier to ourselves for the whole trip. Our driver was very friendly and informative. The local guide was waiting for us when we reached Imlil and took us at our pace up to nearby waterfalls further up the mountain. Great views of Jebel Toubkal and neighbouring peaks. We paused for a freshly squeezed orange juice under the falls before going on to a Berber village, where our guide's brother's wedding was in progress. We were the only guests in the lunch tent and enjoyed hearing the celebratory music from the wedding party. There are shopping opportunities on the way but no pressure to buy anything. Lunch was delicious. We would book with this company again for a longer trip.Written 5 October 2024

- talebe20240 contributionsOurzazateTraces Berbères made our day trip to Ouarzazate & Ait Ben Haddou unforgettable! Our driver, Youssef, was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, and made the journey fun. The tour was well-organized, and we had plenty of time to explore the film studios and the amazing ksar. Highly recommend this company for a truly authentic Moroccan experience!Written 29 August 2024
- Ella M0 contributionsdon’t ridecruelty towards the horses, i have not been on one after seeing how disgusting they are being treated. the whip marks, falling over eachother legs, in the boiling sun all day and even at night they never stop working, never being fed or drinking water. it is appalling how many people get on these and pay for these rides when they can see how the horses look with their ribs and bones showing it’s disgusting.Written 28 August 2024

- CHolfve0 contributionsDisappointed and discustedThe setting is Fantastic building as the description but that is it. Good ok if you like school dinner and definitely not a culinary experience. Started with a small bowl of soup which was OK followed by beef tagine but served as one for whole table of 8 which we did not know after chicken and cous cous again served to share with the hole table both tagine was very dry no sauce and very little flavour. Last but not least fruit platter of plums and nectarines that was to hard and sour to eat together with mouldy oranges. When asked to speak to responsible person ignored until asked to pay and requested again to speak to someone brought to Manager that was too busy dealing with other complaint so did not have time to speak to me. The show was disappointing with poor lighting and nothing special we had no idea of what was going on. Would not recommend to anyone.Written 11 August 2024

- SM_BSc0 contributionsGreat experienceOur guide Mahdi was very attentive. Stopped at a place for tea where he told us about Berber people and himself. Stopped at a place and took some great photos for us on our phones, as well as videos whilst we were riding. Advice: - This is not a sand dune dessert. The paths you ride on are full of stones. We already knew this. - Your clothes will get very dusty. The guide blasts you with the equivalent of a leafblower when you get back but assume you will not wear the clothes again until washed. Your will need a shower after -Use the bathroom before you head out. Our starting point was 1 hour away from Marrakech medina. The toilet is really not great to use and the sink is outside. It might be okay for a guy, but as woman you would not want to sit on it and it doesn't have a sanitary bin - If you have never ridden a quad bike before, ask the guide for a bit of time to get a hang of it on the flat section you are initially on. I regret not doing this (ended up riding on the back of my husband's quad instead) as I later switched to driving it and did manage to get the hang of it.Written 31 December 2023
- soufianel2930 contributionsFantastic Team BuildingWe organized a wonderful Group Team Building with Traces Berbers. The venue, transfers, activities, conference facilities and meals were all top-notch. We would definitly recommend this travel agency.Written 19 November 2023
- X3652GLlucys0 contributionsAnimal abusePure animal abuse. Horses are skin and bone covered in whip scars, stood in intense heat all day long with no shade, water or food and all the horses are laame and have uncomfortably long hooves. I witnesses a horse pulling a carrage collapse because of exhaustion and the guide pushed and tugged at the horse until it stood up although almost being on a death bed and whipped it until it continued the tour. Ridiculous. Please dont support this!Written 1 November 2023

Very nice excursion, a quite long trip with 2,5 - 3 hours from Marrakech.
We had some stops on the road specialy at one of local Argan oil cooperatives. It's very interesting to see how this Moroccan oil is produced. We also had a second stop to see the goats on the trees. Our driver was really nice and friendly. Essaouira is just amazing and definitely worth this visit. The city is beautiful, the beach is a dream and we had a very tasty fish in the restaurant. I warmly recommend this trip!

The day trip through the Tour Company, Traces-Berberes was excellent! The day was even more enjoyable because of the tour guide, Najib. He is very friendly and has a good sense of humour that made the long drive (2 hours) go by very quickly. He is a safe driver, very punctual and reliable and flexible to changes. Najib speaks a number of languages and we were able to have conversations in both English and Italian. He is very knowledgeable in the history of Essaouira and gave an insight to the beauty of the area. There was time to wander through the Medina and find some special finds. Najib was helpful in giving advice and was available to ask questions. There was also time to walk along the beach.
Lunch was absolutely delicious, as we had fresh seafood that was grilled by the oceanside.
Najib is more than a tour guide, as he shares a lot of insights about the land, the people and the culture which gave a wonderful impression of Morocco.
Beautiful sunshine.......ocean waves and salt air.......authentic Medina.......yummy lunch....what could be better!
