This was a wonderful day, and the highlight of my Morocco trip! Our guide Mohammad, affectionately known as Potatoes, really brought things to life with his passion and enthusiasm. The berber village we visited was his home, and the other travellers and I agreed that this gave it an extra special touch. We were not a solo group: there were about 12 of us in total, but I wouldn't let this put you off as the other travellers were really friendly and I actually really loved interacting with them.
The only complaint I can think of was that the "optional" lunch wasn't really optional, and it was kind of forced on us without our even realising it. If you would like to opt out of lunch like we did, make sure to voice this early and clearly, otherwise lunch will just be given to you and you'll have to fork over €6.
The little hike to the waterfall is lots of fun and full of beautiful views, and I wouldn't say it's tricky but would definitely recommend good shoes and maybe a companion whose arm to cling to. There are a few slippery spots (I ALMOST fell a couple of times) and two slightly ramshackle wooden bridges over streams to cross, although they're very short, just a few steps and you're safely on the other side. If you have legitimate mobility issues you'll want to think carefully about this part of the trip, but if you're just a bit lazy or clumsy like me you'll be fine. The stunning views and winding paths deep into the berber village make it worthwhile. It would be nice if the guide could allow a little bit of time to just have a look around the village at our own pace, and go to the shops/buy souvenirs, as I wanted to do this a few times but had to hurry along so that I wouldn't get left behind.
There are plenty of photo stops and you really don't spend that much time sitting in the car. Considering all the things we did and different environments we saw, this is above and beyond what you pay. The whole day just flew by.

What a wonderful day, our trip from start to finish far exceeded our expectations. Before booking we were impressed by the excellent reviews. Our experience did not disappoint. We were met by our wonderful private driver Abdul. Our tour started with the camel ride, the lovely team of local Berber guys dressed us in traditional dress and took us all on a short trek, our guide chatted to us about the Berber people, gave us a couple of translations and took the most incredible photos. A short drive into the valleys we stopped a few times for photos, some locally shopping before arriving for a small snack of bread and oils at an Argan oil farm, where two local ladies talked to us about their tradition, history and production of Argan oil, (a nice stop to purchase a few items!). Abdul then took us into the valley, providing lots of information along the drive, we arrive at Imlil we’re we met our local guide Hamid, we trekked for about 20 minutes up hill into the mountains, we travelled with our two children (9&11) this was a manageable distance for them, Hamid was excellent and kindly arranged a trek suitable to their ability, for more able walkers then I believe you can go higher into the mountains/valley. We stopped at the waterfalls for delicious freshly squeezed orange juice (remember some small change for this). Before trekking a short distance through the valley for lunch. The local tagine was exceptional, our children (who don’t eat tagine or ‘yellow rice’!) ate every last bite, it was simply beautiful. Finally we visited Hamids’ house for mint tea with his mother, such a lovely experience to share with our family. Everyone involved in this tour are local Berbers and cannot do enough to ensure you have the most enjoyable day. If you are considering a tour in Marrakesh BOOK THIS ONE. We cannot recommend it enough.

Ishmael was a competent local tour guide who was fluent and knows the rich history of his hometown. Great guide! Wished we could have spent more time at the mountains. Lunch was amazing! Though the camel ride was slightly underwhelming, going with a bunch of friends made it really fun! We also stopped by the local shop where we met local Ber Ber women producing Aragon oil. My friends bought loads of stuff from the shop and left as satisfied customers.

We were picked up at our hotel promptly at just after 9.00 by Ibrahim, who contacted us the day before to confirm the time.
We transferred to a comfortable minibus to join the other 8 members of our group and drove out to a camel farm for our first activity. We were dressed in traditional clothes and went for a relaxed ride in convoy. There was a stop halfway for photos.
On our return,we were treated to mint tea and biscuits and Ibrahim told us about the Berber culture and some of the history of Morocco and its peoples.
We went on to visit a typical Berber town which held its market on the day we were visiting We walked through the market, observing the fruit and vegetable sellers, people cooking in tagines, household goods for sale, butchers etc but no high pressure sales like the souks in the city.
We then drove on to a cooperative which produced Argan oil. They prepared some edible samples for us to try and we could try pressing it ourselves. There was no pressure to buy anything again.
We drove on up into the mountains, stopping at some scenic places to take photos.
When we arrived in Ibrahim's town for lunch, the minibus dropped us off for a short walk to his house, where the meal was served on a terrace. The path was steep but manageable. There was more than enough food, tajine and cous cous being served with salad and fresh bread, followed by fruit.
We had a long scenic drive to the desert after that, climbing very high and again stopping for photos.
We got to see a spectacular sunset before returning to the city at nearly 8pm
The schedule says 9 hours but we were out for nearly 11 and the time flew by.
A big thank you to Ibrahim and his trusty driver for a memorable day.

For the price, this tour really went above and beyond my expectations. The hotel pick up and the transportation was what sold me on this particular tour. But what I got out of it was really truly the best. Our tour guide Youssef Bachqi and our driver Youssef were AMAZING and I highly recommend them for your tour of the Atlas Mountains. They were super attentive, very funny, and all around amazing people to spend the day with! The hiking part was the tough part for my mum since she’s had knee surgery and we both knew we would be slower than the rest of the group. But Youssef kept running back to help her down steep areas while leading our group. I have never seen such commitment and dedication. Seriously, he was running to ensure he met all the group’s needs. I am so glad I chose this tour and I was able to really see the beauty of Morocco! The quality of this tour is worth your money so if you have time in your itinerary, I highly suggest going with this one!

Our guide Ibrahim (Baha) and driver Khalid were very knowledgeable, entertaining and attentive. They picked us up from our hotel and we were taken to their home villages, Berbers market, waterfalls. Then we climbed Atlas Mountains, had a delicious lunch at local restaurant and rode dromedary. There were 3 other tourists in a group, which was perfect for us as we could ask as many questions we wanted. Boys stopped few times to take photos of beautiful sceneries. The can had AC and we had water bottles provided. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to see real Morocco. We would definitely do it again.

Me and 7 friends did this day trip and it was amazing. Our guide was Mohammed (potatoes) and he was phenomenal. He brought us from Marrakech to where they make Argon oil, then to the Atlas mountains where we hiked to a waterfall and explored the Berber village. Potatoes is from a village in the Atlas Mountains so he knows the area really well, and his English is very good. We had a great lunch in the village and then drove to the desert camel ride which was also awesome. I would 100% recommend this day trip to anyone staying in Marrakech and make sure you get Mohammed (potatoes) as your guide! 10/10 experience: I can speak for everyone in the group.

Issmail is a great guide: explained everything clear, gave us time to stop and enjoy the views, told us the best spots for pictures.
He is a local so he could show us the things is a very personal way. We had a great time.
The walk was really nice and pleasant, the minibus is super comfortable. Chawi is a good professional driver with a great taste in music.
Issmail's English is good and easy to understand, he is very knowledgeable about Moroccan culture, history and people!
This trip is a great way to spend a day in Moroccan culture even with traditional clothing and a camel ride.
Totally recommend!

Our excursion with Tour Guide Issmail and Driver Aziz was a highlight of our Moroccan vacation last week. It allowed us to understand how most of the locals actually live and observe the beautiful scenery of the Atlas Mountains. We also enjoyed the camel ride and appreciated the fact that the camels seemed well cared for (this was one of our concerns going in). We highly recommend this tour!

Tip for Art de Cuivre (the tour operator): Revise the itinerary on the booking site to reflect the actual stops (e.g. we did not see a waterfall) and the actual duration (closer to 10 hours). It was no problem for us but this could be an inconvenience for other bookers.

This was a great experience: quite alot of activity squeezed into one day, each a worthy experience although the camel ride was less my kind of thing. The visit to the village in the Atlas mountains was the highlight, the views and walk to the waterfall were fantastic. The experience felt all the more authentic thanks to our excellent tour guide Rachid who actually comes from the village. The optional lunch is well worth it, the food was great and good value for money. Overall i can highly recommend this tour and is excellent value for money.
