        Great day
We spen a very nice day with our Guide Mourat. We can recommend the trip. Price level is totally fine and the experience met our expectations. Only minus was the oranges as desert. We would have expected a little bit more, like cake or cookies. The Camels could have been treated a little better as well.

Avoid Murad to have a good experience
While the tour and experience were great, we had a tour guide called Murad who was pretty much squaring up to us whenever we had any questions. When I told him the strap on my helmet is broken, he got really annoyed and started shouting at us. Otherwise we had great fun, but he was big stain on the experience.

Decent activities but rude tour guide
The activities were good, and under different circumstances, I would have rated them higher. However, the tour guide (Mourad) was incredibly rude and inconsiderate. I booked three tickets for the quad activity but didn’t notice the additional fee for an odd-numbered group, as it wasn’t clearly stated. When we got on separate quads, the guide immediately confronted us. Instead of politely explaining the situation, he was rude, constantly cut me off, and dismissed my confusion. I would have been happy to pay the additional fee if he had simply explained it properly, but his attitude made the experience frustrating. At one point, he even suggested refunding us if we were being “difficult”—despite us being in the middle of the desert. In the end, he charged us an extra 400 dirhams.

        Mourad best man!
Amazing Agafay Desert Experience with Mourad! Our trip to the Agafay Desert was unforgettable! Mourad was an excellent guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The quad biking was an incredible adventure, with stunning desert views all around. The quads were well-maintained, and Mourad made sure we felt safe and confident. After the ride, we enjoyed a delicious lunch with fresh, flavorful food, all in a beautiful desert setting. Everything was perfectly organized, making for a truly special experience. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A very nice experience! Great food!
It was a great experience from start to finish. Pick up was on time and easy to find the mini bus. Omar was a super awesome guide. He entertained us through out. There was a nice bonfire music and dance session and the rides were fun too. The highlight for us was the food! It was so so good and by far the best tagine we had the whole vacation!

Great day trip from Marrakech. Very recommended
This was a great day trip starting at 9am. The first stop was an Argan Oil collective where we could sample some products. We couldn't resist buying some tea and some Moroccan spiced oil for massages. The 2nd stop was for camel ride and quad bike. We had a good 20 minutes calm ride on the camels which is very easy to do. The quad bikes was about 40 minutes in two sessions with a nice break for some tea and traditional biscuits. The journey is over stoney desert with some more flat parts. It's easy to do if you've never done it before and there are some sections where you can build up some good speed if you want an adrenaline rush. After the quad bikes we were taken to have lunch. The food was delicious and we had more than enough to be full. There is chicken tagine as well as a vegatarian tagine for those who don't eat meat with lots of couscous and salad to go along with it. So in summary, I would have no hesitation in recommending this tour to anyone thinking about doing it. Thank you to Mourad for a great day that was very well organised.

        Camel/Desert trip from Marrakech
We did the Camel ride and sunset desert Diner. Everything was beyond our expectations. The camel ride was fun, after we drove in our tour van (very comfortable) deeper into the desert for our desert camp meal (which was exceptional) the amenities were 1st class with very good and clean toilets and wash room. Entertainment was around a beautiful campfire with live music played by the staff who where all so friendly, then the 1 hour drive back to Marrakech. Exceptional value for money. A special mention for our tour guide “Mourad” who was first class and made a big effort to ensure everybody had a fantastic experience 10/10😊👍

        Unforgetable evening
Our Agafay Desert tour with Astara Tour absolutely lived up to the hype! We went as a family of eight, and even our 3-year-old had the time of his life. (Spoiler alert: chanting in the desert is part of the experience!) A truly unforgettable adventure for all ages

We booked the two day atlas tour in january and were really lucky with the weather. Even though we booked spontaneously one day beforehand, everything was organised really well. Our guide was Nassim, who took good care of us. He was very empathetic so that we alwas felt safe and comfortable. Our meals were traditional and divers and our cook Mohammed was really nice. We are no experienced hikers so it was hard at some points, but we always felt safe and were rewarded with a great view and good Food.

What a beautiful experience! we enjoyed the hike a lot. Ibrahim was a great guide and Hamid an excellent cook. Not to forget our great Muli carrying all of our stuff 😄 if you’re not the most experienced hiker wear hiking boots because there are a lot of gravel parts.

The Excellent rating is not enough for this trip!
I booked this as a solo woman traveller. We were 4 in total in the trekking group (3 other people joined the trip) and we had a blast!
Rachid Jellah was our guide and he was so patient with all of us, explaining everything along the way and helping us complete the trek safe and happy.

A mule carried our luggage and the cook was also the mule driver. Which was fantastic! Mohamad made food appear magically and they were the tastiest tajines I have ever had!

Rachid was very open and answered all of our questions regarding the Berber way of living. We found out impressive details about their customs, traditions and history. At the end of an amazing day, we got hosted in a typical Berber house where we had a delicious dinner ( I know more food!!!! we had been offered a lot of food, which was amazing). They took care of us and made sure we were happy all the time.

I highly recommend this trip! It was the best trip I had while in Morocco.

I will definitely come back and climb Toubkal with Rachid! :)

A wonderful escape and challenging hike! We had a fantastic time hiking with Rachid! The first part was a bit tricky as we didn't know who was picking us up - but after a phone call to Astara Tours by our Riad, we got it sorted. If you try to phone Astara Tours from the Viator confirmation, the number is wrong, so just go to their website and you will find the correct number. We got to the village where we started our trek, had some mint tea and made it to our guesthouse by 1800 that evening. The guest house was extremely cold, but fortunately we were the only guests, so after many, many blankets piled on top of us, we warmed up a little bit. There was a hot shower at the guesthouse and this was a real treat! The best food we had on our entire week in Morocco was prepared by our cook/muleteer Hammid when we got to the first pass. DELICIOUS! Our guide Rachid was such a patient young man - we were on the slower side of hiking and he did not push us or rush us in any way. Rachid was knowledgeable, friendly and the perfect guide for this trek!

I had booked the tour online and it had been paid for and confirmed. I planned my trip around this tour so
I was pretty miffed when it was cancelled within 24 hours without explanation. I tried to contact via watsapp and was ignored. Don’t rely on them.

We were lucky enough to be able to book this trek the day before departure. When we contacted them we were told another couple might be coming along but when they didn't we were allowed to go through with the trip at no extra cost. All of the booking was done through Omar, on whatsapp and it was great! He replied very fast and organised it easily under short notice. We met him briefly before setting off for the mountains and he was very friendly.

Our guide for the mountains was Rachid Jellah - and we couldn't have been happier! He was kind and patient, though challenged us to keep up the pace as well (only cause we wanted though!). He knew everything about the area and happily answered all our questions. You could tell that he greatly enjoyed being a guide and I really think that's an essential attribute for any tour company. He joined us for our meals and stayed up with us in the Berber village chatting.

Also worth mentioning, we were joined (and put to shame) on this tour by our cook and a mule that carried our luggage and food. The food during the trip turned out to be the best food we had during our 10 day trip in Morocco! He made tagines appear out of nowhere when we had a break at a pass - eating at 2, 000 + feet will never get old, even less when it's as delicious as this meal was!

Would definitely recommend Astara tours for this trek :)

PS: it was the first time I was hiking, and although I'm physically fit I wasn't sure how I'd fare. It was absolutely fine, I was able to do it without any issues and I think at a much faster pace than predicted - hiking only for about 3-4h a day (not including pauses). Our only regret is not having booked to climb Toubkal which I believe would've survived!

      Big thank you to Rachid!

Overall we had a wonderful trip hiking the Atlas Mountains. Our tour guide, Rachid, was funny, caring and passionate about providing us an enjoyable experience. He would move at the pace of the group and let us decide if we wanted to take longer trek options by providing us distance and duration.

The food our chef cooked was delicious and we had a sufficient number of stops along the way. I would recommend bringing several large bottles of water so you don’t get dehydrated. Extra water can be stored on the mule and accessible during lunch. The overnight accommodations are modest as to be expected for the location. Rachid provided plenty of historical information about the region.

I highly recommend this tour group and Rachid as a guide!

We've just returned from a truly wonderful two day hike in the High Atlas mountains with our guide Mustafa and chef Mohammed (with Astara Tours). I would highly recommend asking for these two. The food cooked for us on mountainsides was delicious and Mustafa really looked after our family of four. We have an 8 and 10 year old who are experienced hikers - once he realised how fast the children walked, he adapted our route appropriately. I felt very safe with Mustafa at all times. The accommodation in the Berber village was lovely (very warm and cosy), where we met another friendly couple. Mustafa even took us to a traditional Berber house for mint tea, which was a real eye opener for the children. Fantastic hike (4 hrs day 1 and 3hrs on day 2) which felt off the beaten track. An absolute highlight of our trip. We'll be back with Mustafa to climb Toubkal next holiday! Thank you xxx
