- amybL8559EO0 contributionsAbove my expectationsfirst we spoke to Lahcen to organise our trip to morocco, he was super helpful and understanding to our needs. he is knowledgeable and know the country by heart. spent 10 days with them and no issues at all, everything was above our expectations. happy to find them. thank you LahcenWritten 16 February 2024
- amybL8559EO0 contributionswe have Seen thing we will never see if we were by our ownAli was excellent. Every nook and cranny of the souks and city was second nature to him. We'd wandered the old medina narrow streets and the new city that look as amazing as the old one, on a lot occasions and he showed us things we'd never seen before. Highly recommended!Written 16 February 2024
- R4365OImichaeld0 contributionsdon't think twice, Do it!The Moroccan Pottery Workshop was a delightful journey into the world of traditional craftsmanship. The hands-on experience with clay, guided by skilled artisans, allowed us to create our own unique pieces. The workshop seamlessly blended creativity with cultural immersion, providing insights into the art's rich history. The welcoming atmosphere and the joy of crafting something with my own hands made this experience truly special. A must-try for those seeking a meaningful and artistic encounter with Moroccan culture!Written 25 January 2024
- R4365OImichaeld0 contributionshighly recommended! The Islamic Calligraphy Workshop was an amazing experience! The instructor's passion and expertise made learning the art form enjoyable. We explored various scripts, and the hands-on practice with traditional tools provided an authentic touch. The workshop is perfect for anyone interested in Islamic artWritten 25 January 2024

- andreinX9987GS0 contributionsGem 💎I had a trip of a lifetime with them. It was really a pleasure to deal with Lahncen and his team who are really passionate about Morocco, and are eager to show the true and the most beautiful colors of it. Strongly recommend themWritten 27 November 2023
- Kim S0 contributionsA must while in MarrakechThis was an unforgettable experience!! Do it. You get a long ride with professional guides. You stop for tea and take pics.Written 1 June 2023
- Khufu80 contributionsFantastic Architecture and VistasThis was a stop on our 10-day bus tour of Morocco, and it was a highlight. A UNESCO world heritage site, this is one of the largest kasbahs in Morocco, a virtual rabbit warren of red clay residences and colurful shops (you will not be harassed). The crenellated towers are a sight to behold, and the view from the top of the hill of the town and the Atlas mountains is breathtaking. Many films, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator, have been shot here for good reason. We lingered in the actual arena where Maximus fights his first gladiatorial duel for Proximus. Wonderful experience.Written 21 December 2022
- JaneMay0 contributionsPlesant Day Visiting WaterfallsWe booked a private car and guide. The price was a bit steep but we had an excellent English-speaking driver who told us a great deal about life in Morocco. We were met by a guide who also spoke English and viewed the falls from the top. We then moved slowly down past souk-type stalls which were mostly in the shade (the temperature was 30C). We stopped half-way down and sat in a big, clean restaurant overlooking the waterfalls and had kebab and chips and fruit included in the tour price). The toilets were clean. We could have gone to the bottom and had a ride in a punt to the waterfalls, but were not mobile enough. The extra cost was worth it as we were able to rely on both the guide and the driver if the walking got too difficult. The mini buses were ideal for younger, fitter tourists, but we recommend private tours for those who are a bit challenged.Written 29 October 2022
- 998shantricek0 contributionsA highlight of our time in MarrakechOur group of 20 took a pottery class with Karimah and her sisters. Karimah is a seriously talented artist, and it was such a treat to learn from her. She’s extremely patient, thorough with her demonstrations, and very supportive when you needed help. Her sisters also helped us make our small masterpieces and served all of us some delicious Moroccan-style tea. They all got the energy in the room flowing with great vibes. It was an excellent way to get our creative juices flowing while learning and supporting women artist.Written 20 June 2022
- 77shantricek0 contributionsAmazing well organized tourAlternative Morocco is the company to work with if visiting Morocco. Lahcen is accessible and incredible to work with. When he found it difficult to get ahold of our trip coordinator while we were in Marrakech, he used his problem-solving skills and bought our coordinator a sim card so she could more easily navigate the city. We traveled to Morocco with a group of 20 fellow university students. Our group coordinator requested curated experiences exploring themes of entrepreneurship and post-colonial life in Marrakech. There were two wonderful activities that Alternative Morocco organized for us based on these requests. The first was a walking tour of some of Marrakech’s most important spots to visit - the Jemaa Al-Fna market and the Madrassa of Marrakech. Ismail, our amazing local tour guide, lead the tour beautifully in a way that captured the history behind certain market traditions and the influences behind them. The descriptions were elaborate and the tour itself was interactive as we spoke with locals about their stories as well as entrepreneurship in Morocco. Would recommend these activities and Alternative Morocco for your next trip to the country.Written 20 June 2022
- alfieb1860 contributionsAmazing landscapesthe trip was really nice, even though the journey was long the Alas Mountains' landscapes are amazing. Ait Benhaddou Kasbah is the highlight of the trip, our guide was super friendly and shared with us his knowledge of the Berbers culture and history. everything was as described. thank you.Written 27 April 2022
- D3212XDjackg0 contributionsWorth every minutes of the journeyThe landscapes are breathtaking, starting from the High Atlas Mountains with stops in panoramic views and Berber villages all along the way , and then watching the landscape changes to drier and more desertic. Arriving to kasbah ait benhaddou we had a walking tour and learned about the history of the location and the Berber culture. Long drive but every minute is very interesting. Thanks to the organiser🙏🏽Written 17 April 2022

- M792RMadamd0 contributionsVery relaxing day and comfortable journeyThe journey started with our driver picking us from our Riad, the journey it self was a bit long but very interesting, you will stop to see the famous Goats climbing Argan trees, as well you will visit a women run argan cooperative before arriving to amazing essaouira. After arriving to essaouira you will a free time to visit the small old city and chill on the beach, or simply contact the agency if you would like to have a guide booked for you to show you around.Written 14 April 2022

It's a good tour cause the places you visit are amazing for themselves, but I've felt herded to shops and restaurants as the main goal in this tour. There is no guide, only two punctual guys more concerned for their payment and potential commissions in the shops you're taken than in showing you the places. Lunches are not included in this price, but you'll be also driven to specific restaurants with higher prices and bland food. Commissions again, I assume. And you're not supposed to choose a different place.
Dealing with the office to arrange the trip was perfect, I have to say, very helpful and ready to answer. But tour performance is poor and never in the interest of the traveller, I'm afraid.

Dear customer,
Thank you for a feedback.
We point out every detail of the tour in the description.
Please kindly note, we do not provide lunches and staff gratitudes on our shared trips.
We also don’t provide official guides on shared trips. By the law, our licensed drivers cannot work as tour guides and their main responsibility is to make sure the passengers are safe and the tour goes smoothly without delays.
We do provide upgrade options in which you will find more things included, like guides and lunches.
Thank you for cooperation and understanding!
Kind regards,
The Alternative Morocco Team
