- mram10310 contributionsMarrakech Food TourWe were a family of five visiting Marrakech and decided to experience the local cuisine with the help of a group-guided food tour. The tour was organized even though the travelers reached the maximum capacity of 15. The food tasting was good and tasty. We enjoyed the hassle and bustle of the Marrakech night market at Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. As much as we enjoyed the tour, our experience did not run as smoothly as we had hoped. However, the owner of the tour company was very quick with follow-ups, ensuring we were satisfied with our experience. He did a great job remediating the issue. We certainly appreciate his actions and positive response in resolving the issue, an excellent business practice. This is the reason why we rated this tour 5 stars. Thank you!Written 18 September 2024
- Jason Wesley C0 contributionsDo This Your First Day, Sets The ToneThis is a must do for anyone visiting Marrakech and planning to engulf themselves in the true Moroccan culture. Major tip one, do this the first full day you arrive. It will bring you up to speed on the pace and tips to navigate the Medina as well as the key instagram worthy hot spots. Major tip two, request Hassan. Hassan and our driver Kareem are able to get your tickets to avoid lines, cut the long lines, and negotiate fair prices. They speak perfect English, Hassan talks slightly fast, but will repeat himself when needed. They come to your Riad or hotel and it’s first class all the way. For the whole day. Major tip three, start as early as possible. Things get crowded and the good photo ops are easy to jam up. Wear your best walking shoes, because everything in Marrakesh involves walking at some point and stairs at another. Hassan will also follow up with you in WhatsApp for any thing you may regret not doing or any tips on other excursions. He has good relationships with the community, and he prides himself in shielding his guests from any hassle/haggle vibes. More importantly the Medina is filled with friendly people who love to converse with tourists. Major tip four, watch yourself. Scooters are allowed every where in this city, even side walks. Be careful when crossing streets and alley ways.Written 28 February 2024

- imada7190 contributionsFilled with amazing experiencesThis was a superb VIP food tour with amazing insight on the Moroccan culture. The tour was lead by Mr. Ali who gave us an entire walk through of the various foods that are available. He also took us to the herbalism shop which gave us great insight on how and what herbs they offer for people. You also get to ask questions and buy from them which was great. To end the tour, the guide took us to this great restaurant where we were seated on the rooftop. This was also part of the amazing experience while we enjoyed some amazing Moroccan dishes. Highly recommend this tour with Mr. AlI.Written 1 February 2024

Hasan is lovely, really easy to chat too and full of interesting information. When shopping he knows the best places to go and is really good at helping you to get the best prices for things of the best quality. This removes all the stress and hassle of shopping in an amazing but disoriantating place! I will be recomending him to anyone i know coming here and should we be lucky enough to come back will seek him out again.Written 31 January 2024

- Departure677331346940 contributionsIncredible and Thoughtful Experience!Hasan was an incredibly generous and knowledgable tour guide who immediately put me at ease on our tour of the Medina. The tour was well thought through, safe and perfectly timed with generous breaks along the way. I can honestly say that I would not have been able to truly experience Marrakech without Hasan's expert help. Everywhere we went Hasan was known and respected. He provided insights and backstory without being overly pedantic. He was also very flexible, changing the tour based on what I was interested in. It was just a great experience that I highly recommend. I plan to bring my family back in April and hope that Hasan is available to show all of the sights.Written 30 December 2023

This was a really brilliant way to introduce yourself to the souks and we learnt so much from our guide Rachid on this trip that have helped us during the rest of our holiday that we would recommend doing this near the start. We had an idea of what we might be interested in buying , so we could give Rachid an indication of what we would be looking at. He was such a lovely, welcoming guide. Firstly he engaged us with the history of the city and the souks, gave us lots of information about the artisans and how the goods are produced. Then he helped with identifying good quality items, advised us of a good price and stepped in to support us with the bartering, telling us whether the price was fair or too much. On occasion he got involved in discussions with the shop keeper when he felt a price was far too much. You definitely felt in safe hands and he was great company, spoke impeccable English, had a good sense of humour and gave excellent advice about other sites to visit and where to eat (and where not to). This tour was a real delight and we would highly recommend both the tour and our guide Rachid

We had an excellent experience on this tour. Hassan, our guide, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, making the entire journey both enjoyable and insightful. He guided us through the souks with expertise, allowing us to fully appreciate their cultural significance without ever being pushy. Even though we weren’t primarily looking to shop, Hassan adapted perfectly to our preferences, focusing on helping us understand the rich history and culture of the Medina.
For the few items we did purchase, Hassan took us to trustworthy, high-quality places, which made the experience seamless and enjoyable. The car provided for the tour was very comfortable, and the driver was professional and skilled, ensuring a smooth ride.
Traveling with our two young children (ages 3 and 5) could have been challenging, but Hassan was wonderful with them. He included them in the tour, adjusted the pace to suit their needs, and made them feel like an integral part of the experience.
We would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to dive deep into the culture and history of Marrakesh. It’s a fantastic option for families and anyone who values a personalized, enriching experience.

Hassan was friendly and fun! He was 100% trustworthy arranging for our purchases to be delivered to our hotel as were too big to carry. He bartered with every stall holder we visited and ensured we received a very good price. We could not ask for more from a guide. 100% perfect!

Can’t recommend this highly enough, our tour guide Rachid was amazing. He’s a very good guy, really funny with lots of great advice. It was our first time in Morocco and he gave us loads of great advice for the rest of our trip as well, shopping was a breeze with Rachid. He was able to advise when to negotiate and when we had a good price, and took us to many shops depending on what me and my girlfriend wanted. I believe we got a completely different experience than we would’ve trying to explore by ourselves. All the shops Rachid took us to were very respectful and most weren’t too pushy. The rug shopping was a particular highlight, Rachid was great when organising this, and we dealt with the owner directly who was very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend you book this trip if it’s your first time in Morocco, or you just want some help finding the right/trustworthy shops. Rachid even helped us get a taxi at the right price back to our hotel at the end of the tour, I will be recommending this tour to everyone I know travelling to Morocco. I would advise anyone reading this to do the same.

Hassan did a great job on our tour. He gave some history of Marrakech, easily navigated us through the chaotic crowds and driving, took us to some places we likely would not have stopped on our own, introduced us to some excellent coffee and sweets, and answered our many questions. Always with a smile. Hassan is happy to serve. He had our products delivered to our Riad and escorted us back even though that’s not where we met him to start. Afterwards, he provided us with several great recommendations of more to do and see in Marrakech. You won’t be disappointed!

We had such a wonderful first morning in Marrakech thanks to Hassan! As someone who gets quite anxious in crowds it was invaluable for us to go on this tour of the souks. Hassan is warm and friendly and knowledgable and I felt so safe being led by him through the crowded maze. I appreciated that he reached out the day before to plan an itinerary that reflected our interests, and it was really useful that he took us to places we can use as markers for the rest of our stay. Every shop we visited we were met with smiles and it was so interesting to learn about the work of the artisans from themselves. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone visiting Marrakech!

What we got was an insiders guide to the souks and it was AMAZING. We received this as a birthday present for my husband. Youssef was our guide and he was very adept in getting us to shops where you can see the artisans at work, still proudly honing their crafts. We saw where they dyed their fibers, sewed the intricate embroidery for which Berbers are renowned, made the intricate filigreed lamps, etc. During this time he gave us insight on the pressures placed by industrialization on the artisans’ crafts. Not in a condemning way but more of storytelling and hoping that we appreciate and continue to support the artistry. It was a beautiful experience. He did not push us to purchase anything ( though we did) . The 3 hours went by sooo fast.

We booked our shopping tour upon arrival in Marrakech and would highly recommend it. Our tour guide Hassan was extremely knowledgeable and helped us navigate the maze of the Medina with precision and care. Hassan helped us find everything we wanted, from saffron to argan oil and even a great handmade rug. We felt confident that the shops that we went to where authetic and Hassan helped us negotiate a fair price for everything we purchased and we never felt pressured to buy something we did not like. Everything we purchased was delivered to our riad so we did not have to carry anything while walking around and he even guided us to a great spot for lunch after the tour. The numerous shops and streets of the Medina can be overwhelming..but having Hassan to show us around and teach us a bit of history was invaluable and made the rest of our trip easier since we knew what areas to visit. I would definitely recommend the tour, especially for first time visitors of the Medina of Marrakech.

Hassan was such a warm, knowledgeable host! He showed us the highest quality craftsmanship and the kindest business owners throughout the Souks. He shared a lot of other knowledge and recommendations throughout the tour as well. We never felt pressured to buy anything (but ended up buying more than we thought we would - simply because everything was so beautiful!).
We highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to get to know Marrakech better (and for those looking to bring a piece of it home).

Hassan has put together the most incredible, immersive shopping experience in Marrakech that one could ask for. I am so happy to write this review with the hope that others visiting Marrakech will experience the beauty and hospitality this city has to offer just as I did with Hassan’s guidance. In fact, I would go so far to say that a trip to Marrakech is incomplete without this tour.
I had time by myself for a day before my friends arrived and wanted to spend that time exploring the Medina and shopping – although of course shopping alone is intimidating. I booked a morning tour with Hassan after reading the other positive reviews and am so happy I did.
He met me early in the morning at my hotel with a driver and spent a few minutes asking what my shopping priorities and interests are. From there, he guided us through a brief driving tour on the way to the Medina, explaining the history of the city, the palaces, nuances of this diverse Islamic culture, and even the types of plants and trees one sees throughout Marrakech’s expansive gardens.
From there, we spent the next four hours wandering through the souks. He took me to shops with rare, reliable products sold by some of the most hospitable and interesting people I’ve ever met. To a tourist like me, the Medina can seem at first like an overwhelming maze of intrigue that can quickly overstimulate the senses. Under Hassan’s trusty guidance however, it is a garden of adventure that is eager to unveil its history, craftsmanship, and beauty to those who want to experience it. Of particular note was shopping for rugs at Les Nomades – easily a top 10 moment of my life that I will never, ever forget. But everywhere we went – cosmetics souks, galleries selling brass and silver, museums and cultural heritage institutions – I met such kind, welcoming people who treated me as if I was an old friend.
As my time with Hassan came to an end, he continued to be amazing until we parted ways. He helped me get to the Riad where my friends and I were staying and continued to check in on me throughout the rest of my trip to make sure I was okay and enjoying myself. I was lucky enough to bring my friends to some of the souks that Hassan showed me; they had just as wonderful experiences as I did, and the owners continued to exercise their unparalleled hospitality. Hassan’s impact continued to be felt long after we hugged goodbye.
You absolutely will not regret booking this tour. I will repeat: a visit to Marrakech is incomplete without this tour. With Hassan’s guidance, you will make lifelong memories and leave Marrakech eager to plan your next trip to come back.
