During the journey we will enjoy many beautiful scenes of the Berber villages, elevated views of the mountains. After the stunning mountains we get to Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa, Noiselessly town, the door of the desert), is a city situated in the middle of a bare plateau, south of the High Atlas Mountains. It is mainly inhabited by Berbers, who constructed many of the prominent Kasbahs and building for which the area is known. One of those building is Taourirt Kasbah diverted in 17th century. Why this town is nicknamed as Hollywood of Africa? Simply because it has been noted as a film-making location, with Morocco’s biggest studios inviting many international film companies to shoot their movies like: Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Living Daylights (1987), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Martin Scorsese’s Kundun (1997) and Babel (2005).
The journey continues via Agdez Draa valley to Zagora. After a short exploration, we take 1h30 sunset camel trek into the dunes to reach our desert camp for the night(or Zagora hotel). Here we can enjoy sitting around a bonfire, having a traditional meal and socialising with the nomads.

Upon arrival, switch your mean of transportation into camels and enjoy an Erg Chebbi dunes camel trek to witness one of the most sought for views in the planet: Erg Chebbi’s dramatic sunset over the color changing sand dunes! Drive back to your camp and get ready for a delicious Moroccan dinner under the stars while entertained by the local nomads playing their drums. Don’t miss the clear sky stars constellation before you go to bed.

Day 3 : Merzouga – Thinghir Oasis – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges.
After breakfast at your desert camp, drive along the 1001 Kasbahs past rivers, oasis and fortified Kasbahs to Tinghir, where you can enjoy a walk in the oasis along Todgha river back to Todra canyons where you will have lunch.Early afternoon, drive along the Dades Valley where you’ll drive along some magnificent fortified Kasbahs and Berber Villages, with the sunset as a backdrop to Dades Gorges before you return to your hotel.Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast , you’ll drive alongside the Valley of the Roses to Kalaa M’gouna where you can visit a rose water ladies cooperative and learn how locals manufacture rose water perfume essences. We continue to Skoura oasis, considered one of the largest oases in the South and visit one of the Kasbahs there (Amridil Kasbah) before we carry on to Ouarzazate for lunch. Early afternoon, we drive to the fortified Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, built in the 11th century. Once up on a time this Kasbah was the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. It is situated on a hill along the Ounila River and has some beautiful examples of Kasbahs, which unfortunately sustain damage during each rainstorm and windstorms. Most of the town’s inhabitants now live in a more modern village at the other side of the river; however, around five families are still living within this Kasbah. Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and several films have been shot there, including Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Time Bandits (1981), The Jewel of the Nile (1985), Kundun (1997), Gladiator (2000) and Alexander (2004).
From this beautiful fortified Kasbah we keep driving around one hour at Ounila river, during the journey you will enjoy many beautiful scenes of the Berber villages, elevated views of the mountains. Then we visit Telouet Kasbah is a Kasbah along the former route of the caravans from the Sahara over the atlas mountains to Marrakech. The Kasbah was the seat of the El Glaoui family’s power, thus sometimes also called the Palace of Glaoui, and it was built in the 18th and 19th centuries. The palace can still be visited but it is steadily becoming more damaged and is slowly collapsing. In 2010, work was underway to restore the property. The palace is located on the outskirts of the small Berber village of Telouet, in Morocco. It lies at an elevation of 1,800 meters (5,900 ft). Occupying a strategic position in the High Atlas, the occupants of the palace had the privilege of being on the passage of caravans and near major salt mines. The Kasbah and the village are now accessible by a junction of the road P31 of the Tichka, which connects Marrakech to Ouarzazate.
Afterwards We drive back to Marrakech again via Tizin Tichka pass and your driver will drive you straight to your hotel or Riad where your 4 days desert tour from Marrakech will end.
