About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- rowenag7060 contributionsAmazing Moroccan AdventureGreat communication from Said for booking. A little unusual, having to take euros to pay in cash, but don’t be dettered! From the minute we were picked up in Marrakech until we were dropped off at Casablanca airport we had a fantastic week. Hassan, our driver was brilliant - sharing information en route, making sure we were smoothly checked in at each overnight overnight stop, finding nice places to eat for lunch and to take photos on the way. We really felt he was invested in looking out for us. Hassan made the dessert section extra special as this was his home turf and you could tell his in depth knowledge and love area. We can not rate Morocco Tours Agency and Hassan highly enough. We would definitely recommend the company to anyone wanting to holiday in Morocco and experience not just the cities, but also the vast expanse of this impressive country.Written 8 December 2024
- 337breap0 contributionsDefinitely book this tour! This trip was amazing! Everything was well planned and organized. We were picked up right on time by Zaid our guide who spoke very good English. He drove us 8 hours to the Merzouga desert and we stopped for lunch along the way and it was great! When we got here we met with the guide for the camels and did the camel ride in the sunset and it was beautiful and so fun! We also did the sand boarding which was really fun! After this we took the camels back to our camp and had a great dinner followed by a drum circle and the camp staff were so engaging and kind and taught us how to play! We then watched the stars for a little and there were so many! The next morning we had breakfast followed by the ATV tour. I would highly recommend the ATV tour because it is a part of the desert that you don’t see on the camel tour and it is gorgeous and surreal. If you’re planning on doing this trip I would recommend the 2 day one because I feel as though we did everything in the 2 days! This was a great tour! Highly recommend!Written 29 November 2024
- 104meghano0 contributionsDefinitely book this trip! This trip was amazing!! We went on the two day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga and would definitely recommend. The first day, we did the 7 hour drive to the desert which was long but our driver, Zaid, was amazing, and we did lots of fun stops along the way. When we got there, we did camel tour and sandboarding at sunset, and then they took us to the camp. The camp was pretty nice with an amazing view, and we had dinner and a drum circle by the firepit. The next morning, we watched the sunrise over the sand dunes, had breakfast, and did the atv tour. The atvs were extra ($35 each) but it was definitely worth it because we got to see more of the desert than we did with the camels. Overall, all of our tour guides were super nice and informative, and we had a great experience!! I definitely recommend, especially considering the really reasonable price!Written 29 November 2024

- djd9180 contributionsTrustworthy travel agency! We booked for a 3 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. They are very accommodating with our inquiries and gave us recommendation. Their tour packages also are very reasonable and has value for money. Hassan our tour guide is very friendly and organize. He always made sure that we’re comfortable the whole trip because the travel time was very long. He is also informative and even gave us lots of personal travel tip just to experience what Morocco has to offer. All in all I highly recommend the tour agency and the packages they offered.Written 21 November 2024

We started from Marrakech and visited Chefchaouen Rabat fez margouza and than ended up in Casablanca and everything was arranged by the tour company. They provided us with a tour worth remembering. Our Riad’s were beautifully selected by the company and we enjoyed our stay in them , we chose the luxury package including luxury camp at the Sahara and it was beautiful. - stevelW1520AD0 contributionsThe experience was great to be let down by language issues conversing with the driver/guideI booked a 5 Day Desert tour With the Morocco Tours Agency starting in Fez and ending in Marrakech. The booking was very straightforward, The person I dealt with - "Said" - sent me a list of the hotels they use and let me choose my preferred hotel at each location. All the hotels I requested were available and ranged from very good to excellent so no complaints there. The holiday was spoilt somewhat by the driver/guide assigned to us - Hassan. He was a nice enough bloke but we really struggled understanding him as his English was not great. Apparently, he picked up his English from working with tour groups. He was fine as a driver but no way would you consider him to be a guide. He was very keen to get from A to B in a short a time as possible, not stopping for scenery views for example. I would ask him to stop but generally once you had seen a place to pull in, you were past it so couldn't stop. A couple of times Hassan did not seem to be fully aware of the itinerary which Said had provided us. For example, on day 4 the itinerary detailed a "chance to visit one of the (Berber) families and take a look at their daily life and main activity looking after herds of goat and sheep". Hassan seemed surprised at this and said that this would not be possible. On day 5 we were meant to visit Taourirt Kasbah - this did not happen. Finally, Hassan, instead of ensuring we got to our Riad destination at the end of the tour in Marrakech (as arranged) left us in the hands of, as it turns out, a hawker to transport our luggage the 50 metres to our Riad and was then most disgruntled when I would not give him the 100 Dirham he requested (I offered him some coins which he looked at in disdain - he only "takes notes"!). The tour as per the itinerary was an excellent one but at the end of the day the success or otherwise of any tour like this lies with the guide and unfortunately in this case it was a little disappointing. I would be wary of using this company again. We speak English (and unfortunately no other language much to my shame) so should have been assigned a driver/guide with this in mind.Written 13 November 2024
- NuVistic0 contributionsMorocco, tour company worthlessOver $5,000 custom trip through travel agency. The tour company was one continuous marketing sales pitch to buy trinkets at every stop. The tour guide gets a commission on everything we would purchase. This blocked us from learning about the Moroccan Culture. Morocco IS NOT handicapped accessible; not at all. You have to crouch near the floor to use traditional bato. And every entry door has a step. Curbs very often do not have ramps. When a family member is handicapped, they are confined to their home. Nether right nor wrong, this is just their culture. Family takes care of family throughout their lives. DO NOT TRUST THE GUIDE TO NEGOTIATE FOR YOU. They actively instructed the vendor to raise the price. A driver typically costs about $40/day. A 10% tip is $4 to $10 per day. 10% tips are customary throughout Morocco. Keep a pocket of 5 Durham (50 cents USD) coins to pay for restroom access. Keep some toilet paper folded up in your pocket; not all restrooms have Toilet paper. Keep a small tube of hand soap in your pocket, most restrooms outside major cities do not have soap available. Traditional toilets here are two places to stand on and a trench around each foot that goes into a hole in the floor. To clean yourself, take the bucket, fill with some water, use your left hand to to repeatedly clean your bottom, pour water on your left hand and repeat. Use bucket to flush toilet area. Then use the faucet water to clean your hands. Only greet people with your right hand. We should have gone online and travelled without a guide arranged by the tour agency. We were asked and let it be known up front that we wanted Vegetarian options. NO EFFORT was provided by the tour operator to provide us quality vegetable entrees. Cooking vegetables diversely isn’t difficult; but was NOT provided. If traveling to more than one city, hiring a driver is recommended. Moroccans are very aggressive drivers and our driver would pass another car with oncoming traffic and forcing oncoming cars to go to the side of the road. This is somewhat normal here. There is an etiquette but I didn’t pick up on the nuances. But in other places police rule without compromise and he drove as expected. The local tour guides selected for us just hauled us to places to have lunch. Their English was so poor they could not be understood, and they didn’t know anything about their own history, nor ability to express themselves beyond simple phrases. They could not even understand any questions we asked. One guide at a Roman ruins was knowledgeable, but spoke a fast slurred voice that droned on without any expectation of being understood. Don’t pay for guides in advance; they are really worthless. Make sure you meet them in-person or at least on phone to be sure they can easily speak English AND they know cultural significance to share. Better, when doing your own research, download the website historical information to your phone. You will get 100 times more useful information about what you are looking at when you arrive. Verizon worked most places we traveled except the Sahara desert. Dial 0 01 area code and number to call US. Morocco is a very safe place to walk around. They do sell alcohol products here. Women do not need to cover their hair. Women tend to dress more inconspicuous, casual modest clothing. The buildings look in terrible repair on the outside. This I was told is out of respect for the less fortunate peoples. However, most hotels are like motels in the United States. There are always things that fail to work. In well kept hotels, I thought this provided a little cultural significance. Television didn’t work in any of the smaller cities we visited. Casablanca and Marrakech were the only two hotels where televisions worked. We watched Trump win the election in Marrakech. Exchange about $500 USD to $ Durham per week. The shops and most restaurants only take cash, and they want Moroccan Durham currency. We bought a suitcase for $25 to bring back spices and fossils we purchased for coking and gifts. I recommend taking a Moroccan Cuisine cooking class in Marrakech. It was fun ($70 USD) Local banks and we didn’t have trouble with small exchange shops near other banks to exchange money. We used a credit card in large grocery stores. Relatively nice hotels were about $60 USD per night, and included breakfast. Morocco is Carb rich in their meals. I gained 10 pounds. Every meal is bread and cheese. With options that distinguish breakfast from lunch/dinner. A late dinner in the hotels was $15 dollars ($150 Durham). Really, the provided guides are worthless. One exception. In Marrakech the large market area had workmen making products by hand. That one guide provided more understandable information about Moroccan culture, than all the other 5 guides combined. If you are Vegetarian, DO NOT eat anywhere a guide wants you to eat. The Veggie Tajin is exactly the same every day, in every city. BORING and a waste of our money and waste of time in our trip. Vegetarians should search restaurants for themselves. You have to make efforts to find diversity in Moroccan Vegetarian entrees. Made available to us: Examples: hard boiled egg, egg omelette without filling, exactly the same carrot/pitato/squash tajine(steamed), Shirazi Persian salad, (onion, tomato, spice chopped salad), pizza topped with part of a can of Libby’s mixed vegetables on a pad of cheese. This is what we were fed by the tour operator. However, in larger cities you can find diverse vegetarian foods from other countries. My favorite was a Persian restaurant in Marrakech. The tour operator did NOTHING to provide examples of diverse Moroccan vegetarian cuisine. Since meat is expensive for them, I cannot imagine they have no Moroccan vegetarian recipes. Moroccans like the United States 50 years ago, smoke cigarettes everywhere. Any nice club will be filled with smoke. Fez was low on our list of culturally significant Vito. The leather area smells very badly. They give you peppermint plants to breathe through to stifle the stench. The leather work done here is crude. Not at all comparable to Venice and Florence leather products in Italy. We didn’t buy any leather products in Fez. We were taken to a pottery shop where they supposedly produce ornate tiles by hand. But it was just a show. They worked too slowly to get any significant amount of product produced. I did buy a pair of Italian shoes here and had the shoe cobbler stretch the leather to fit my feet. This is one of the significant cultural experiences here. Having workman actually do something useful, using their Moroccan skills. My shoes have a story I will remember. The countryside is beautiful throughout Morocco. Liter lines roadways everywhere. You can’t find a trash can anywhere. We would save our trash and bring it to the hotel to dispose. Glass lines all the highways. People throwing bottles out windows. We visited a private farm. Liter outnumbered the plants. Trash everywhere is a Moroccan cultural norm. There may be utility in this custom. No landfills. Sunlight breaks down the plastics. The farm dirt was soft from recent rains. But the land was more firm where the liter concentrates. We visited a few old fortified homes, and fortified towns (Casba). Things our great/great grand parents would have used. That was cultural, and memorable. Hiking and backpacking is allowed in Morocco. But find details before traveling. Get all the recommended vaccinations, it’s dirty here. Fleas and flies are a minor issue. I ordered insect repellent wrist bands from Amazon. I wore them around my socks and didn’t have any bites. We brought mosquito head nets, and wore them in the Sahara to keep flies out of our ears and eyes. We were told the tap water is not safe to drink. I had loose stool after eating dairy products, that cleared up by the third day. Be sure to have a very light meal if you are going to be traveling that day. Bathrooms are not easy to come by out on highways. W.C. Generally means toilet (Water Closet) My favorite places were: Marrakech, Cher chun, the Sahara (Marzuga), Atlas Mountains, a Fortified home, and Rabat We enjoyed the museum on our own in Rabat. Casablanca and Fez were far less interesting; if we come back we likely will not visit them. But I did buy my Italian shoes in Casablanca. A hidden out of the way winding street shop not far from the commercial marina. There are cabs and buses that drive between towns. I would definitely travel without a travel agency in our next trip to Morocco.Written 11 November 2024

- 430pippat0 contributionsIncredible Tour Through the DesertWe got picked up from our door on time greeted by Mohammed. We stopped along the way for breakfast and had a tour of how argon oil was made. We got to stop at many beautiful places along the way for some panoramic views. The desert experience was incredible. We went by camel to the tents and were greeted by some Moroccon men in their traditional clothes. We had some delicious traditional food that night in one of the tents and sat by the fire afterward to listen to the men play some music and we joined in on the dancing - very cool experience! On the second day, in the morning we watched the sunrise, had some breakfast and went back by camel to meet Mohammed. We got to see some monkeys, went to the alpine town and stopped at some spots for some scenic photos with Mohammed. Alongside this I actually had left my passport in the hostel I was staying at in Marrakesh. As I was getting on the camel to go through the desert I realised I had left my passport in the locker in the hostel. A quick call to the hostel to confirm this and saying this to Mohammed. He took care of making sure I got my passport back the next day as I arrived to Fes and told me not to worry. We arrived in Fes and an hour later Mohammed had the passport in my hand. Mohammed is a true professional and would hundred percent be using this service again.Written 7 November 2024

We did a 3 day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes and truthfully, it was probably one of the best travel experiences we've ever had. I went with my family (my dad, mom, and younger brother) and they felt incredibly comfortable during the desert trek and camping experience. We had Omar as our guide - we LOVED having him. He was actually our best guide the entire time we were in Morocco and missed him dearly when we had to part ways. He's super attentive and caring, and is willing to shift the itinerary a bit to suit whatever kind of experience you're looking for. For example, he quickly noticed that we loved taking photos and showed us all the best spots to take them. I have already recommended him to a few friends of mine and would highly encourage that if you do this trip that you request Omar!

Amazing experience, amazing guide.
Lets start with some info about me its my first time in Morocco and I’m travelling with my little sister whose it’s also her first time in Morocco.
The first day Mubarak our driver showed up on time on our riad (even though it was not accessible by car) with a big smile on his face to take us on our trip to Fes through Sahara. We introduced ourselves Mubarak speaks great English probably the most fluent speaker we encountered in Morocco. Mubarak is a great guy and a great guide, we couldn’t ask for a better one, I’ll definetely ask for him if I return to Morocco, I’ll explain why :
He is a very good driver in a country that this is important. He made us feel safe because he always explained what exactly we were going to do at the morning of each day and it always happened on schedule, as he said, (at this point I should mention that he was constantly informing us about scums and how to avoid them). He listened to our music on the trip, was excited to learn about our country as much as he was excited to show us his, he knows so many things about Morocco and Berber culture.
Long story short, he is an amazing professional, answered all our questions, did what he could to meet our demands and moreover feels like part of the family he is a good fun person, just book your trip with him.
Now about the trip itself:
A great way to travel in Morocco, it’s a long car ride but it’s done the right way, and you should follow their schedule. It takes you through amazing places, (to see the desert, the gorges, the monkeys) you do all you want to do f.e quad biking in the desert, sand boarding or riding a camel. The agency adapts the tour according to your preferences including hotels, camps and other things. They reply fast in the mail and the schedule is detailed. We chose the luxury accommodation option and were very satisfied by its standards. The only negative I have to report is that the food in the first stop of our trip (at chez Brahim in ait Ben haddou ) was not good, and Mubarak informed the agency and explained that they pick restaurants according to client reviews and that they’ll pick another in the future. The other meals in our trip were all good so I won’t let this spoil my flawless critique 5/5 for the driver 5/5 for the agency.

Our 4 day, 3 night tour from Fez to Marrakesh was well-organized and fun. Our driver, Youssef was punctual and professional and gave us interesting information about Morocco and the sites. The hotels we stayed at went beyond my expectations- comfortable with really great service.
The highlight of the tour for me was the extra day we got to spend in the desert, something that I don't think the 3 day tours get to do. Driving around the sand dunes, visiting a nomad family, and free time to actually climb up one of the tall sand dunes was amazing.

Aziz was a spectacular tour guide for our party of five. We had such an amazing time. He was so friendly and had a good knowledge of the country, and worked hard to accomodate our every request. His driving was very smooth and comfortable. Our accomodation was awesome on the first night in the Dades Valley. On our next night in Merzouga, we rode camels at sunset then stayed at a fun desert camp. We messaged the tour company that night to do quad biking the next day, which they (Said) facilitated for us. This was an awesome add on and would highly recommend this.
I would recommend selecting your own places to eat for lunch as on the first day it was not good quality and overpriced. On our next two lunches, Aziz was happy to facilitate lunch stops of our choice. This had us stopping at some incredible small, local restaurants.
Overall I would highly recommend this tour, and absolutely recommend that you request Aziz. He made our time special.

Must do in Morocco. We had a 3-day tour (Marrakesh-Fes) with our guide Omar and it was amazing. Omar was very punctual, he told us a lot about the country and the places we visited. During the journey, we felt the real Africa, experienced the difference between civilization and desert. We were surprised how many unique places we visited just in 3 days. Authentic cities, canyons, gorges, Berber camp, camels, and even wild monkeys! The camp in the desert was very comfortable and clean. Special thanks to Hassan from the camp - he taught us to play drums :) Said who was communicating with us at the very beginning was responding rapidly and gave us useful advices. Thank you all once again for this unforgettable experience!

We did the three-day excursion from Fez to Merzouga, we contracted with Marocco Tours Agency and everything has been easy and very good communication with Said, he has been answering all our questions and advising us at all times, we made the itinerary with the driver Youness, a true professional and very attentive, helpful and super punctual!!, we have been very comfortable with him, he has made us feel at home and he did not hesitate to explain to us about his culture and people. We brought us a good friend. (Thank you Youness). The experience of sleeping in the Jaima and riding a camel and watching the sunset has been amazing, getting into the life of a nomad for 2 days, they explain their way of life and at night they play the drums with music and make a bonfire telling stories, and The landscape and its surroundings are a wonder that can only be experienced by being there, it is something that cannot be explained. It has been a unique experience that will not take long to repeat and what we are sure is that it will be with Marocco Tours Agency.

The tour was truly delightful! It offered us a captivating glimpse of various landscapes, ranging from the enchanting desert to the bustling movie-making cities. We extend our sincerest thanks for an unforgettable experience.

We booked the 3-day tour from Fez to Merzouga and back to Fez for 3 people on the December long weekend. We were lucky that our guide was Hassan who from the first moment was very friendly and polite. We made a few stops along the way and ate at local restaurants recommended by him. We really liked the experience and we recommend hiring the tour and asking Hassan as a guide, who also speaks Spanish very, very well! The Riad Hassan was spectacular and the night in the desert was magical accompanied by Berber music under the stars and a pleasant camel ride. We recommend it without a doubt.

My father and I booked a 3 day tour with Morocco Tours Agency from Marrakesh to Fes through the desert. We stayed at Dar Blues and the Palmyra Desert Camp (where we wish we would have stayed an extra night). Our personal guide and driver was Zaid. Throughout the journey, we felt safe and taken care of by Zaid, who was friendly, informative and helpful, answering all of our questions about places we were and Moroccan culture. He went above and beyond to help us navigate challenges with getting to the airport the next day, communicate with our riad hosts, advocate for us when we needed it, and check in to make sure we got home safely, days after we parted ways. Don't hesitate to book this tour - we highly recommend them for your journey through Morocco and hope to be able to return soon.

Our driver Zaid is an excellent, friendly and convivial host and guide. He goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and welcome and to tailor the experience to your preferences.
The Berber Pizza lunch in his home town was especially delicious!
His knowledge of the sights and attractions along the way is expansive and he makes sure you know what you will be seeing and when along the way and what to expect as you go. He also is happy to make any stops and adjustments to your itinerary along the way which you would like and which time will allow with your other planned activities.
If we travel this way again we hope to catch up with him next time.
I would add extra stars if possible and would recommend Morocco Tours Agency to anyone.
