About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- ellajdowling0 contributionsThis was great! ThanksWe did this tour with Youssef this morning and it was great. His English was perfect, answered all our questions. He explained through the history of the souks and helped us buy things we wanted for good prices. Would really recommend, he is a very welcoming and kind man. Thanks so much Youssef!Written 26 March 2025
- NicGib10 contributionsGreat tourExcellent tour today for our family of four with Abdul who was engaging throughout, considerate to our needs and happy to be totally flexible to anything we wanted to look at in more detail. He was humorous and interesting and took interest in our lives especially the boys who he got on well with. Abdul was calm not rushed, not pushy at all and helped navigate any purchases we made. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and the well organised tour today, would recommend totally. Good initial communication on day we bookedWritten 24 March 2025
- Lonestarbc0 contributionsA lot of funYou don’t need a guide but a guide can make you feel more assured of moving through the souk if it’s your first time. Look out for the hidden garden, the old university and venture into all the streets and alley ways. Keep your eye out for the never-ending flow of mopeds and other small motorised vehicles that are always moving through these narrow streets. Hours can be spent taking in the atmosphere and haggling with shop keepers. A lot of fun!Written 22 March 2025
- AilsaMck0 contributionsA perfect personal look around the souksYoussef was incredibly insightful and welcoming. As two female travellers we were grateful for such an experienced guide of the Medina and souks, with inside knowledge of the best streets, I think we've seen nearly every nook and cranny. Youssef was so friendly and helpful, we would recommend to everyone!Written 20 March 2025
- laurenbB9513DJ0 contributionsAn amazing introduction to Marrakesh!Aziz is amazing! He was very knowledgeable about the city, and took us to all the most interesting spots. He even helped us haggle when we were shopping 🙂Written 18 March 2025
- Venture452309684700 contributionsMarrakech Souks TourYoussef Kharroubi gave my wife and I an excellent personalised tour of the souks. Great insights provided into the 1000 year history of the different areas of the city. The sights, the smells, the back alleys that you would never otherwise find. We had a wonderful time.Written 15 March 2025
- P8834YXkaitlynb0 contributionsWonderful experienceYoussef was outstanding. He made our first soul experience one to remember. Not only did he ensure we were able to see everything we wanted to, he also went above and beyond explaining the history of the Medina. After doing other experience in Marrakesh, this tour is something special. We would recommend to anyone visiting Marrakesh and would even go again, with Youssef!Written 15 March 2025
- Rhiainlewis0 contributionsAn amazing personal experienceI loved our tour with Youssef!! He was an absolute star. Incredibly welcoming, kind and knowledgable! He is from the local area so gave us a unique experience that I will never forget! Thank you!Written 14 March 2025
- 597shilpaw0 contributions10 Stars!! Amazing trip! Outstanding Customer service !We had booked a souk and medina tour through this company which did not go as we expected. When we gave this feed back to Youssef, he was very apologetic and asked us not to pay for the trip and as a good will gesture planned a day trip (free of cost)to the Ourika Valley. This was done within an hour of my what’s app feedback to him. This company cares about the customers and aims to deliver the best. Things can go wrong sometimes but, this company and his owner are willing to put it right and , go over and above. Outstanding customer service. From the time that we were picked up from the hotel, the trip was great! Rachid told us about the plans of the day. Rachid Mantouran is a well experienced guide and very friendly and professional. On the way to the mountains he tells you a lot about the villages and culture and knows where to find good places for quality stuff for pottery, argan oil etc. We bought some great stuff and met some interesting shop owners who made the experience even more enjoyable. Rachid was very attentive to our safety and comfort. He even paid for our shopping when we ran out of money, which we reimbursed later. Mohammed our guide to the mountain walk was great. The walk to the first fall in the valley is about an hour and can be a strenuous climb for those who are not used to hiking. Also, the path is not flat and you have to be very careful. Our guide Mohammed was always at hand to help us climb safely. After one point, it was very steep and we could not get to the highest point of the fall. Mohammed ran up and took pictures for us. All this when he was fasting for Ramadan!! Towards the end , we missed the meal at the river as the place closes at 4:00pm during Ramadan. So, please be mindful of timings during Ramadan. This was not anybody’s fault as we spent a lot of time shopping and the walk at the valley was steep so we had to take breaks. All in all Rachid is a fantastic tour guide, knowledgable, friendly and had a good sense of humour. In the end - he drove us back through a different route to show us the other side of Marakesh which we had not seen and would have missed had he not taken us via that route! All in all- The day was amazing, the views and drive stunning. Thank you Rachid , Youssef and Mohammed for a wonderful day. We will be back and we will be booking tours with you and recommending you to all our friends who plans visit here !Written 12 March 2025

We were a mixed group French and English and were amazed how Youseff kept both parties equally engaged switching from one language to the other fluently. Felt completely at ease with Youseff and even though we’d toured the souks during the day he brought us to places we’d never have dared enter. Really enjoyable and an excellent guide.

This tour was the first thing I did after arriving in Marrakech and it was a perfect introduction to the old city. Youssef is a really kind and knowledgeable host and gave me helpful tips for the rest of my time in Morocco. I’m a solo female traveller and would especially recommend this tour to others to help get your bearings before exploring by yourself. Thank you Youssef :)

Very happy with our night tour through Marrakech. Although I contacted Youssef directly, Mohammed turned up on the day. At first we were apprehensive, as it wasn't the person we contacted, and Mohammed didn't appear very forthcoming. We quickly learned that we just had to ask questions, and he was an abundance of knowledge. For whatever reason, he wasn't as open and chatty as other tour guides we met, but any question we asked he knew the answer. We'd asked to be shown the real Medina at night, away from the local hot spots, and Mohammed provided us exactly that. He took us through all the back streets, a maze he never got lost in as he grew up in these streets. He knew so many local people along the way, took us into a communal bakery to see bread being made, showed us how they cooked the meat deep underground, took us into a book binding shop where the man had a book sitting on his desk dating back to the 1700s which we were allowed to view. Mohammed took us down narrow alleys, explaining why none of the houses had windows. He was extremely knowledgeable - if you asked. Almost everything I asked for was covered in the tour (didn't get to a rooftop at sunset), but I feel my requests were genuinely listened to. I asked to avoid herbal and cosmetics shops, and see more local crafting being done, to avoid the tourist routes and see the back streets, we saw so much we would not have found on our own - and got to try some tasty treats too! We finished the tour with a nice tea and Moroccan style crepe. This was our first private tour, having done mostly free ones based on tips and we thoroughly enjoyed being able to go at our own pace and ask all the questions we wanted. At no point was there pressure to buy anything (or even the suggestion to buy anything!). Thank you Mohammed for our tour.

Youssef was OUTSTANDING. He is completely fluent in English, amongst many other languages. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history of Marrakech and Morocco with visitors it is easy to see his passion. He lead us into the deep Medina with ease, and we felt completely safe at all times, and got to see corners of the Medina that are typically reserved for locals. It was absolutely fascinating. I can’t say enough about Youssef or this tour it has been the highlight of our trip so far. We capped off the evening with tea and nuts on a beautiful rooftop with a great view (which he treated us to!). His is extremely kind, and happy to share as much as you want to know! Thank you Youssef!
