About
After meeting you in Marrakech, we'll head southeast to the majesty of the High Atlas Mountains. We will stop to take a photo of the oldest Berber village in the Tahanout region, then visit the Berber women's cooperative.
The third stop will take part in Asni to photograph it and the summit of the oukaimden before reaching Imlil.
Once arrived at the village of Imlil, we will start our walk through the Berber villages and learn about their culture and the Berber way of life.
We will also visit a waterfall in the middle of nowhere. The hike will be gentle and the view is breathtaking, amazing and beautiful.
Lunch will be prepared by our family in a traditional house.
Then we will head to the kik plateau, where we will enjoy a cup of tea while enjoying the view of this incredible plateau desert, agafay and the takarkoust dam, looking at everything at once
The last activity we will do is to ride a camel before taking our car to drive to Marrakech. Around 5:00 p.m.

- Noo180 contributionsBeautiful sunset, rest a bit disappointingWe booked this trip based on the revis n this site, on that basis we were a bit disappointed! We were supposed to be picked up from our hotel but we had to walk to try to find our guide. The drive out to the desert is long, the car was definitely not air conditioned! First stop at the women’s cooperative was slightly odd, they were really friendly and welcoming but we felt like we were on a conveyer belt! The products were excellent value and we really regretted not buying anything. Next we continued the drive to the desert. It is a really bumpy and slow going ride. The road is in bad shape and our guide carefully navigated this. We arrived first and got to chose our seats. Our guide just left us to it, no explanation as to what would happen next. It was a truly beautiful setting, lots of photo opportunities and we were happy to sit and watch the sunset. The chairs were really uncomfortable, the food came out after a bit, a small portion of lukewarm soup and bread. Chicken tagine was 3 small pieces of chicken between us, with veg and cous cous- really tasty but not quite enough of it! Our guide came over to ask if we were ok and we didn’t see him again! Various groups of people, who we think had been quad biking or on camels, arrived during the evening and in the end it was quite full. A group playing traditional music came out and worked their way round the tables, then a disco started. By this time we’d been there for about 5 hours and to be honest we were quite bored. The other people in our car went to find the guide to ask if we could head back. Overall it was disappointing, the sunset was truly beautiful, something I’ll treasure but the rest was a bit of a let down. I think having read other reviews that if you have a good guide maybe your experience would be better, but I hope the above helps someone make a decision as to whether it’s worth it!Written 11 October 2024
- 514bassimam0 contributionsA must while in Marrakech!!This excursion was fantastic I highly recommend it. Our guide Ayoub was very attentive every step of the journey and made it a very pleasant trip. He and the driver made sure we arrived and got back safely. The views were beautiful- the dinner and entertainment was authentic and enjoyable.Written 10 October 2024
- H4855WBbarbarab0 contributionsThe desert feeling!A memorable excursion into the desert, with a caring guide, amazing views, calm camels, tasty dinner, folk music and much fun to be had: an authentic Marrakech experience not to be missed!Written 9 October 2024
- gediminasl20140 contributionsI don’t think it’s worth it. But it’s very cheap! There were 3 stops in this trip: 1st was at a women’s co-op who make all sorts of beauty products from argan kernels. The English speaking lady was very informative and showed us all around. Some of the stuff they are selling there were cool. 2nd stop was to ride the camels and if you opted out, you get to stand around for 20mins or so and take some photos or whatever. Camels like everywhere else are tied very close to each with minimal space to move. I tried it once, will never support this “attraction”. 3d stop is a 10min ride from the camels and honestly it was a bit disappointing. By the time we arrived there was about 20mins left before the sun dipped under the horizon. I wish we had more time to enjoy it and arrive there way earlier. The food was basic, lukewarm. Would have been happy to pay more for a bigger portion so just a heads up. The entertainment at the campsite was from the traditional drumming/singing and what I could only describe as tap dancing on a tiny drum which was fun and entertaining. Afterwards it turned into a disco with songs from Shakira… but there were a bunch of people dancing and they were really enjoying it. After the food we straight away climbed the small hill just next to the campsite and sat there the whole time looking at the stars, horizons and people at the camp going nuts over the music. The fire show was good if you’ve never seen one, not much to say. AYOUB was our guide he seemed very attentive and asked us multiple times if we were alright. There seemed to be a lot of people happy with the evening, but because we only did this trip for the sunset dinner I think it was not worth it over all.Written 8 October 2024
- whimsicaltours0 contributionsA magical desert tourThis was a magical desert tour led by Ayoub (who was an excellent host and tour guide!) He was respectfully attentive throughout and looked after us well. The driver was a confident, skilled gentleman and we felt very safe with him. The food was excellent and the fire show was a real bonus! Music and dancing was fun and nothing was too much trouble for anyone! All in all a great night out! Thank you.Written 8 October 2024
- 936karlh0 contributionsDessert meal and sunsetWe were met by our brilliant guide Toufk, he drove us expertly through the chaos of Marrakesh traffic - I've passed a emergency response driver course and I wouldn't drive here! - the setting was brilliant, the entertainment was superb, the food was basic but flavoursome. The music throughout the night kept us entertained and the fire show topped off the night. Only reason given a four was the clouds - no sunset 😞Written 8 October 2024
- annwF6855RC0 contributionsExcellent outing at a very reasonable price. This was a fab fab evening. After being picked up at our hotel, we were driven to the desert, with a stop for camel riding, should we wish, and photo opportunities. Then onto the dinner and entertainment. Absolutely first rate traditional, dancing and fire spinning demonstration. Delicious and plentiful local cuisine. Well organized evening, with our very capable and attentive tour leader, Ayoub.Written 5 October 2024

We had a wonderful tour into the High Altas Mountains with our driver Mohammed, and Mohammed our guide, who shared his passion and knowledge of the Berber/Amazigh cultural traditions throughout the day. We visited a womens argan oil cooperative and had the opportunity to participate with the women in the grinding of argan nut and learned of its use in body treatments, cosmetics, and in food. It was snowing heavily as we approached Imlil, and our driver navigated safely through it all. Our guide brought us for a delicious tangine lunch and took care that all our needs were met - including seating us near the fire🙏🏼 The weather kept us from hiking, so we shopped a little - a Berber hat and embroidered slippers - then headed down to Marrakech desert for a camel ride. A full and fascinating day - thank you thank you thank you we learned so much from this experience!
