- susanmX3481XG0 contributionsBeautiful and EnjoyableHad two enjoyable full day tours of Tangier, Asilah, Tétouan and Chefchaouen with Abdelmoghit. He is a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and informative on multiple topics and cultures. I highly recommend booking these tours with Abdelmoghit on your visit to Tangier.Written 2 February 2025
- V1611EMkristinm0 contributionsGreat experience with AbdelmoghitWe had an amazing tour with Abdelmoghit! He is so knowledgeable about Morocco and Tangier. We really enjoyed spending time with him and learning about such a wonderful place. Even more important is how much he helped us get to Morocco! We only had a day to be in Tangier and our ferry from Spain was canceled. He helped us book another ferry to Tangier and helped us change our ferry back to Spain. He really went out of his way to help us and we so appreciated it. I highly recommend him!Written 1 January 2025
- Rich_C3130 contributionsGreat Tangier ExperienceAbdel was a fantastic guide. He was sensitive to our needs and customized our tour to address things that we wanted to see. He is quite knowledgeable about Tangier as was able to educate us about his country and city. We had a great in depth look at his land. He took us to a great restaurant for our lunch break where we enjoyed several local delicacies. I cannot say enough positive things about him. He gets my highest recommendation. Do not hesitate to select him as your guide!Written 26 December 2024
- FarAway134928869080 contributionsTangier Day TripMy wife and I went on a tour of Tangier with Abel and it was a wonderful experience. Abdel met us at the Ferry and took us on a private tour of the City. He was very friendly and personable and his knowledge of the city and its sites was obvious. We would have missed out on so much without him, I highly recommend him.Written 25 October 2024
- N9106SQmargareth0 contributionsLove the world and find peace through shared experience and conversation!Abdelmoghit was the perfect guide for us. He went above and beyond what was expected. He met us at the ferry and he treated us like old friends. It was not a business transaction. We felt like special, personal guests. The pace was perfect; we strolled and talked at length about history and architecture, as well as life and culture in Tangier and around the world. Abdel is a wonderful, kind, articulate person and guide. He spent extra time with us to be sure we got to all the experiences we could- including tasting local food and visiting local artisans. When we left we felt like friends for life. We will stay in touch, and hope someday to come back to Tangier and see him again. Travel is an amazing way to shrink the world and feel connected. This was a thread that ran through all of our discussions with this amazing tour guide, man, father, and grandfather of two.Written 21 September 2024
- jonathanvU2648EO0 contributionsWonderful second-time adventure in TangierI had the previous pleasure of having booked a tour with Abdel to Tangier in December 2022 with my brother, and because that experience was so wonderful, we decided to bring more of our family on this most recent trip in August. It was our first time traveling to Morocco and Abdel was an amazing tour guide that first time. From the very beginning, Abdel was very attentive and kind to the needs of my family. He came to the Tangier Ville ferry port where my family and I came from Tarifa and took us directly to the private minibus we had for the day. My father speaks only Spanish and Abdel easily switched to speaking it throughout the entire tour. I greatly appreciated the attention and the care that he talks about Tangier with, which just really makes the city all that more fascinating. I also appreciated how he made the guide accessible to my younger sister and made sure she was also entertained and engaged. We were able to see all of the most relevant sites in the city, from the Pillars of Hercules to Cap Spartel and much more as well as go for a camel ride. We also had the opportunity to try some authentic Moroccan food and drinks such as the mint tea. Ultimately, my family and I were beyond pleased with the tour with Abdel and we hope to be back soon and explore another part of such a beautiful country.Written 23 August 2024
- Compass223790195740 contributionsFirst TimerI loved my Tours By Locals (Tangier and Asliah Private Day Tour) with Abdelmoghit E. He was very knowledgeable and a multilingual guide who is passionate about showcasing the best of the city and his country. Abdelmoghit was to accommodate and adjust the tour to meet a special request from me, making it a personalised and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend Abdelmoghit E as a tour guide and would use him again in the future.Written 1 March 2024
- Horia P0 contributionsVery nice experienceMoghit is a passionate guide that covers every piece of history in a beautiful story. The places that we visited in the tour were amazing and will remain in our memory until we'll back. Moghit speaks perfectly English and he interacted with us in a professional, but also friendly way.Written 22 January 2024
- Xavier M0 contributionsBest Travel ExperienceBest Amazing Experience. If you are looking to explore the Arabic culture, you must visit Morocco. Abdel is the best tour guide I have ever met and extremely knowledgeable. We can't wait to book our next trip with him again.Written 16 January 2024
- susansaudekb0 contributionsWonderful day trip to Chefchaouen, Morocco with Abllumodghit El JeliliWe had a wonderful trip to Chefchaouen, the Blue City, with Ablumodghit El Jelili. He picked us up at the Ferry station and had a driver and van waiting for the two hour drive to Chefchaouen. During the drive, he told us all about the topography and shared insights about Morocco. His knowledge and love of country clearly came through. Once we reached Chefchaouen, we began at the high point of the city for a beautiful overview, which also made our walk much easier since it was mostly downhill. We loved our delicious lunch, and tried several local specialities at a beautiful restaurant housed in an old Jewish house. We highly recommend our guide, and hope to return soon.Written 27 October 2023
- christophergZ3191HJ0 contributionsMy Best City Tour Experience Ever!Abdel was excellent. He greeted us immediately upon our arrival at the port in Tangier, Morocco and although we had only booked the walking tour, given the amount of extra time we had in the city that day, he adjusted the trip to include more sites. He explained the history of each site while adding personal anecdotes and descriptions of his experiences living and growing up in the country. The lunchtime spot he recommended in Tangier was fantastic and most importantly, everyone we passed, smiled warmly and greeted Abdel with kindness—a sure sign that we selected the right tour guide! If you are going to Morrocco and are looking for a tour, I cannot recommend Abdel enough.Written 4 October 2023
- Alan Z0 contributionsHe’s the best. No need to look for any other guide. We have hired guides around the world. But Moghit is one of the finest we have ever worked with. Totally knowledgeable, professional, and charming. There’s attention to every detail, and some parts of our three-day trip with him would have been impossible for us to do on our own. if you came like a friend and not just a guy. He receives my 100% positive recommendation.Written 25 September 2023
- Jonathan H0 contributionsProfessional, Knowledgeable, and Authentic Local Tour Guide From Morocco. Thoroughly enjoyed our time with Abdelmoghit!Abdelmoghit is a knowledgeable local tour guide of Morocco. He not only showed us the “must-see” sites of Tangiers, but also many “off-the-beaten-trail” places. Our experience with him was authentic and educational - we can’t wait to come back to Morocco.Written 20 September 2023
- janesK1081QH0 contributionsDay tourWe took the morning ferry over from Tarife and met Abdelmoghit at the ferry dock. We spent all day with him and the driver and thoroughly enjoyed it. He was very knowledgeable about his country and it was interesting to hear his perspective of world events. A learning experience for us all. The visit to the souk was amazing and being with him meant we were not beset with sellers. At the end of the day we were delivered back to the ferry and he accompanied us all the way to make sure all was well. We would definitely recommend his professionalism and his care. Excellent.Written 24 March 2023

If you're searching for a Moroccan tour guide, look no further! We were incredibly fortunate to have Abdel lead us on two tours. As a family of ten, he arranged a spacious, air-conditioned van for our comfort. We explored Tangier and Chefchaouen on separate days, and it was clear he has a deep passion for Morocco, evident in his engaging explanations of the history and landmarks.
Abdel allowed us to stop wherever we liked for photos and to enjoy local Moroccan tea and snacks. Since we expressed our desire for authentic cuisine, he took us to fantastic local restaurants in both Tangier and Chefchaouen, where the food was outstanding. He also assisted us with souvenir shopping, guiding us to the best stores, including a local factory that produces Moroccan hair oil.
He was easy to talk to and adaptable with the itinerary, even helping us resolve a ferry ticket issue by taking us to the ferry office, which saved us a lot of stress for our departure the next day. We truly appreciate his assistance. I wholeheartedly recommend Abdel for any tour; he goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Thank you, Abdel!

Please book a tour with Abdelmoghit - it’s the best thing you can do in Tangier.
My wife and I spent an *amazing* day in this incredible city with him and it remains our highlight of our trip to Europe and Morocco. Abdelmoghit is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, interesting, fluent in several languages and, as someone who spent his whole life in Tangier, the absolute perfect guide. He taught us so much about the rich history and culture found here and we are leaving with a deep appreciation for the city, land, and people thanks to him. Additionally, everyone around the city seems to know him and these connections will only add to your experience.
Do yourself a favor and skip the big groups and buses that offer tours. The hands on experience you get from Abdelmoghit is second to none and, in my opinion, the only way to see this wonderful place. I would also recommend spending at least one night in Tangier. We got *so much* more out of the extra time afforded by doing so, instead of the ferry in/ferry out day trip approach taken by so many. Tangier is a superb city filled with absolutely wonderful people. The “must experience” way of seeing Tangier is with Abdelmoghit - we simply cannot recommend him highly enough!
On a separate note, bartering for goods is not only customary, it’s also kind of fun. But I recommend *not* trying to get the “best” deal. Instead, accept overpaying for the items that you want and willingly spend your money to help support this community and the great people who comprise it. It’s a win/win.
Thank you, Abdelmoghit, for the experience of a lifetime! Tangier and Morocco will forever have a special place in our hearts.

Moghit was was scheduled to guide our party of two couples in an all day tour of Tangier 3 years ago, but Covid interrupted those plans. We were delighted that he was still available and because we had more time he suggested that we also take a day trip to Chefchaouen the "blue city" which was extraordinary.
Our tour with Moghit was a rich experience of history, culture and religion as we drove, walked and toured many parts of Tangiers learning about the interplay between colonization and the advance of Islam. We also gained a perspective on how Morocco sees itself relative to Africa and Europe. He was very open about his faith and how Islam is frequently misunderstood by the West. When we weren't walking and seeing him be continually greeted in the streets he was pointing out thing we might want to return to or suggesting places to eat. We had several wonderful meals at his direction that exposed us to authentic Moroccan cuisine. He was very deliberate in leaving us while we ate preserving our space and allowing us to converse apart from him.
Our experience in Chefchaouen was equally rich and even the 2 hour trip in each direction was nicely broken up by some tea and treats. As world travelers who have been to many countries and experienced many guides, we all were very impressed with our experience and would without hesitation recommend it to others.

Many thanks to Abdelmoghit who took great care of us! He and our driver, Mohammed, allowed us to experience many of the highlights in Tangier while on shore from our cruise ship for the day. Our tour consisted of panoramic as well as intimate views of the city and eating and shopping with locals!
I highly recommend this tour should you want a personal guide to show you things you won’t see or experience with a large group of people.

Abdel was a fantastic guide and made our visit unforgettable! He met us at the ferry from Tarifa and immediately made us feel welcome. Our journey started with a scenic drive to a panoramic viewpoint of the city, offering breathtaking views. From there, we explored so much: enjoying coffee at a charming restaurant, wandering through the Kashba, and diving into Moroccan history and culture with Abdel’s insightful commentary.
The Medina was a highlight—Abdel took us to hidden spots we would have never found on our own. His explanations about the local religion, traditions, and lifestyle were both fascinating and enriching. A stop at a spice and oil shop added an extra touch, allowing us to learn about and purchase some amazing products for body and hair.
Lunch was another standout—a delicious meal at a lovely spot. Abdel also guided us through a few stores, making time for some shopping. At the end of the day, he took us back to the port, leaving us with cherished memories.
Abdel’s warmth, friendliness, and humility truly stood out. In the short time we spent together, we came to adore him and his passion for sharing his culture. We would highly recommend Abdel to anyone visiting and can’t wait to return and explore more with him. Thank you, Abdel!

Our guide was exceptional and highly knowledgeable and informative. He made it fun as well as showing us the hidden gems as he has lived in Tangiers all his life. We did the caves of Hercules - amazing, plus sampled the local cuisine in a very authentic Moroccan restaurant chosen by him. Excellent. We loved the camel ride - a one off for us.
He took us down the labyrinth of streets that is the Kasba Blanca. Small lanes where the locals do their intricate embroidery on their local dress plus other beautiful mosaics. Saw and spoke to lots of fun locals who were charming. We all enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Tangiers.

We took 3 tours through Moghit's company when we traveled to Tangier last July. Moghit was not able to personally guide our tours as his schedule was booked, but he arranged for us to go with another guide he works with named Khalid. We did the Tangier city tour, a trip to Chefchaouen, and another excursion to the seaside village of Asila. They also picked us up for transport on arrival and departure to ferry from Spain.
All 3 of our tours were excellent. The itinerary was well organized, and Khalid did a great job of showing us around. He and our driver were very friendly and always on time. Khalid had great knowledge of the local areas, providing us with many insights and stories about Morocco.
One word of advice if your tour includes a visit to the rug place in Tangier: the shop keepers are very nice, but they are also very strong sales people. Be prepared for some hard bargaining, and keep in mind that you aren't obliged to buy anything. It's just part of the local experience!
We would definitely use Moghit's tour service again if in Morocco, and would highly recommend it to others visiting the area. You will be well taken care of.

Abdelmoghit is terrific! He's been doing this for decades and it's his passion. He is well known by many throughout the city. He wants you to have a great tour and will customize to meet your desires. He never tried to pressure us into anything we didn't want to do. He was informative, friendly and conversational. I had a particular souvenir that I wanted that was not easy to find. He knew where to take us and was happy to do so.
The price was very reasonable with no attempts to upsell. I only regret not having more to tip him at the end. Typically we do not pay for tour guides and prefer to explore on our own, but I'd recommend getting one to get the most out of a quick trip to Tangier. And I'd highly recommend Tangier Private Tours!

Moghit was highly recommended by a friend that has toured with him twice before. Our tour exceeded our expectations for a day trip to Tangier. Moghit is very knowledgable and has a vast amount of information to share about the city, country, traditions, culture, and history. We covered a lot of ground in just 8 hours. As a family of four with a 10 and 12 year old he was very accommodating to our needs and pace. We felt welcome, comfortable, and safe. Thank you, Moghit!

Abdelmoghit is an amazing guide. We did the day trip to Tangier, with 2 adults and a 13-year old daughter. It was perfect - the perfect mix of cultural/historical sights, great food and a little bit of shopping. Everyone seemed to know Abdel (who grew up in the Kasbah), and we even had two people stop us to tell us we had the best tour guide in the city. Abdel even took us into the ferry terminal to make sure we made the ferry home. Highly recommend.

Hi, my husband and I are interested in doing a day tour to Tangier. Is this a private tour or will we be with a larger group? Also, do you coordinate the ferry trip from Spain or is that up to us? Thank you
