- taylorrosemckagan0 contributionsCHAFIK will take care of you 100%! Literally your one stop shop to make you trip a memorable one!BEST TOUR EVER!!! If you're in need of a tour guide or simply a reliable cab ride to or from the airport, Chafik is the person to contact! He goes above and beyond to take care of everything for you. Chafik stayed in touch with me via WhatsApp even before my trip began and maintained contact throughout my journey. Whenever I had a question, he responded immediately. The customer service was fantastic and incredibly reliable. A must when you're in a different country traveling solo. My tour guide, Abdul, was also wonderful. He showed me all the must-see spots and took photos of me, which was great since I can only take so many selfies of myself. I had the opportunity to take a picture with an adorable monkey named Marco at Hercules Cave, enjoyed a camel ride overlooking the ocean, strolled through the Medina where I bought a beautiful pashmina scarf for my mother, and indulged in top-notch authentic Moroccan food. The following day, my driver Mohamed picked me up for a 2-hour ride to Chefchaouen. Initially, I had only planned the Tangier tour, but upon Chafik's suggestion, I booked the trip to Chefchaouen. It was the best decision EVER. The Blue 💙 City was breathtaking and absolutely a must-see. A tip: remember to show your appreciation by tipping your driver and guide and be generous if you can. For example, I tipped $20 to my driver and $60 to my guide. I wanted to tip more but unfortunately, that was all the cash I had left. If you find yourself in Tangier, Chafik's tour is an absolute must. It will be the best decision you make to complete your trip!Written 18 November 2024
- NewsJenn0 contributionsOne of best tours in an incredible cityWow this was one of my favorite tours in all my travels. Chafik was punctual, informative, fun and totally adapted to our needs (kids, breaks, shopping etc) — would absolutely recommend him and this tour!Written 17 November 2024

- Christian I0 contributionsSweet and short!I had a pleasant 4 hour hybrid tour, first by car to visit the Hercules cave and check the point where the Mediterranean sea meets the Atlantic ocean. Camel riding was offered to me but I declined. After that, we walked through the big and small markets (sorry can’t remember their names) the weather was perfect.Written 21 October 2024

- Dan H0 contributionsDON'T MISS THIS IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY!!This was not what I expected!! I expected Tangier to be nothing more than the crowded, chaotic market that Americans almost always get from the TV and movie portrayals. Yes, you can find that, and you will be shown that. But that is a small, intentionally anachronistic part of traditional Tangier. Most of the real Tangier is identical to Beverly Hills, California: lush vegetation, beautiful, glamorous homes, classy, open-minded, accepting, generous, warm people watching out for you and each other. And this tour is not what I expected. I thought it would be a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all tour that hits all the same high notes for every tourist, but stuck in a group with diverse desires and interests. It's nothing like that, and Ali is nothing like that. This is your personal tour, and your personal guide; just you, and (optionally) your friends and family, and Ali - taking great care to find out exactly what YOU want to see, do, eat, and experience. One of my favorite parts was just sitting for extended periods with Ali watching people, talking about life, and drinking their AMAZING tea. You will see everything you want to see, whether or not you realize up front that you want to see it. And nothing about the tour is hard and fast. Everything is fluid and adjustable. Your interests and curiosity will grow throughout the day as you learn and see more, and realize the real Tangier, and the Moroccan people, are nothing like you expected. Oh, yes. That camel ride? It's the real deal!! About 30 minutes of really riding across the beach, through the surf, up a steep hill, and alongside traffic. Like everything else, you'll get more than you expected!! My biggest regret? Not bringing along enough cash to generously tip all those, like the personal, dedicated driver, and camel handler who gave so generously to my experience! You will never think of Tangier and the beautiful Moroccan people the same. And you will never forget this experience.Written 6 October 2024
- janetnR2673VB0 contributionsA big day and well worth itFabulous day tour of Tangier including traditional lunch and camel ride. Tour guide Muhammad was friendly, helpful and full of information about historical and present day Tangier. Tour of the Kasbah was particularly interesting and showed the living city. Lunch was delicious and the restauranter was welcoming. We were entertained by a traditional birthday celebration. It’s a big day and well worth it. We traveled by ferry from Tangier. Muhammad met us at the terminal and delivered us back there. Recommend.Written 10 September 2024

- Stay122305631540 contributionsYour absolutely best choice in Tangier. It just cannot get better than this. What an absolutely wonderful tour guide Shafiq is! (Hopefully the spelling is somewhat correct.) We had the time of our lives, it was a perfect mix of chilling out and still seeing and experiencing so much (fish market, camel riding, Jewish quarter, Moroccan food, American legation etc.), including some (but thankfully not exaggeratedly much) shopping and eating. Super friendly and professional, someone you'd like to have as a friend. We have learned a lot about Tangier and its region, Shafiq speaks fluently in several languages and is just a thoroughly decent, hospitable, friendly and welcoming guy, also very well networked in the market. If you want a day or two or even more of the genuine, exotic, enchanting Moroccan experience, then you have no better choice than Shafiq! We were so lucky to have had him to accompany us, we just fell in love with his city and would repeat the tour any time. A big thumbs up, five stars :-). Roger and AndreWritten 22 August 2024
- vinionr0 contributionsGreat day in TangierChafik was a great tour guide. He was always ready to cater the tour to your needs. He is very knowledgeable as he grew up in the casbah. He added in stops that Anthony Bourdain made and they were great. The views were great. I highly recommend this tour.Written 14 August 2024
- 867julietp0 contributionsEverything we wanted to see and more in Tangier! We had such an amazing time with our guide Fouad during our day tour in Tangier! Before we even arrived, the agency contacted me and helped clear up some confusion about which port to arrive to. We would have been much farther away from where we needed to be if we had taken our original ferry trip! It was also easy to move the tour to our first day in Morocco when it had originally been scheduled for our second day - this flexibility let us make the most of our time, since we enjoyed our first day so much we took Fouad’s advice to set up the second day with him in the nearby town of Asilah! Our small group agreed that we got to experience so much in two days only because of the wonderful suggestions, expertise, flexibility, and kindness demonstrated by Fouad and the agency. It was everything advertised by the tour description and more! Shukran, thank you, we will be back to Morocco as soon as possible!Written 31 July 2024
- laurabC247RB0 contributionsShukran Foad!My friends and I had a wonderful experience with Foad as our guide. He treated us like family and was so helpful during our short stay in Morocco. Not only did we do this day tour with him, he also took us another day to visit the beach in Asilah and walked us around that town. He ensured that we experienced as much as we could in only 2 days. Shukran Foad!Written 31 July 2024
- J3261LTaudreym0 contributionsThe BEST tour guide in Morocco! Our guide treated us as family. We could never have seen all we saw without him. He helped us barter for local goods, took us through amazing places and was flexible with our private tour, taking us places we were interested in, as well as places we never heard of! Spectacular experience. Shukran, Fouad!Written 31 July 2024
- N B0 contributionsA top choice in TangierChafik is an excellent tour guide who grew up in Tangier's Medina. This means that he knows the ins and outs, has good connections, and can share more history than appears in books. He is friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, and very helpful. Salman was a cautious and careful driver who picked us up from - and returned us to - our hotel safely and on time. He and Chafik made a good (and good-natured) team. Pro tip: We learned the hard way that pickup from hotels outside of Tangier is not included in this activity. That said, Ali provided oir required transportation for a reasonable additional fee. Confirm that your hotel location is included in advance.Written 17 July 2024
- Shermartz0 contributionsA Day in TangierWow. Tangier is so very different than I expected! The ferry port was clean and modern and we were met just outside the doors by Ford for our excursion. He said they call him “The Fonz” and we learned why throughout our day with him. He was knowledgeable, relatable, funny, smart and kind. We were able to see so much of the city with Ford and our driver Sulaiman. They took us to see palaces, parks, oceans that meet, sweet camels ( mine was a sweet girl who just wanted to eat and rest, not carry around this crazy lady), a very strange cave (not quite what we wanted to see of the cave, but we understood this was a pre-prepared thing the company does), we ate delicious food (holy moly the couscous was perfect!) walked through the kasbah (a labyrinth of paths. I would never be able to navigate that on my own. AND! there were so many cats! I loved them all!), and were treated with respect and kindness by our guides. We were told by more than one person about how free the people of Tangier are with their world-views. So, dress with respect but don’t feel like you need to dress to their culture. Be yourself. There are some things that I would have liked to be different if I could have done so: 1) the Hercules Caves. This was just ridiculous. The real cave would have been preferred to the silliness we saw. That’s just a tourist trap of nonsense. Avoid if you can. 2) the camel ride. I love animals. It was very hard for me to see how these animals are treated. I wanted to liberate these beautiful creatures. Other than that, Tangier was more than I could have imagined. Thank you to Ford and Sulaiman for a beautiful day.Written 16 July 2024

Chafik met us at the port at the prearranged time and we had a great tour through the Medina and Kasbah. This was an added bonus. He bought some items for the meal and when we told him we would like to buy spices to take back to the US, he had a store keeper explain the different spice mixes and argan oil. The prices were reasonable and it was a great education on different spice mixtures. We then went to a house with a chef and an assistant who explained everything in English. We added spices to the meat and mixed eggplant salad. We were taught every step to complete a tagine, two salads and mint tea. The chef was amazing and the tagine was outstanding. Seeing a typical Moroccan house was also a treat. The welcome date and small milk began the best experience we had in Morocco. We will definitely come back to the beautiful city of Tangier.

My host, Bilal, was great. I was fortunate because I was the only one, making for a nice 1-on-1 experience. We went to the market bought a few needed items and then he brought me to his home where I meet his lovely family and learned how to make a chicken tangine, bread, tea and an orange and cinnamon desert. It was a very nice experience and one I can easily recommend.

Lovely experience start to finish! I wasn’t able to attend the full class, but I reached out and they tailored a unique experience just for me that fit my schedule - including pick up and drop off at my hotel! The guide was lovely and spoke excellent English. We proceeded to a private home where a chef helped us prepare a traditional Moroccan meal and mint tea. The guide was able to perfectly translate for the chef and it was a wonderful evening. I think it is truly a unique experience to make a “homemade meal” in a foreign country you are visiting. Upon my request they were also able to send me the recipe after the experience. It was very special and I would book it again :)

We had the most wonderful Beef Tagine at Chafik’s aunt’s house. His cousin graciously translated and helped her aunt at the sous chef. Her English was excellent and they were all very charming and welcoming. The kitchen was so clean and modern, the spices and ingredients were organized, labelled and all was explained to us. The aunt guided us through the cooking. It was an experience I would highly recommend. Food, tea and desserts were sublime!
