You will experience a way of life long since forgotten in the modern world. Zimbabwean culture is extremely rich and valuable and to a glimpse of it, you may have to participate in daily tasks at the Village and offering a helping hand to the natives so as to get a real feel of traditional village life. You will be picked up from your lodge/hotel for a journey heading towards an authentic rural village, that is approximately 25 kilometers away from Victoria Falls town. Get ready to be amazed as you enter an alternate world where tradition, and local customs are still retained as it has for centuries. The tour will give you an understanding of how many Zimbabweans still live to the present day, a way of living free of modern-day struggles but not without its own challenges. You are additionally allowed to bring presents for the villagers, for example, stationery, garments, sweets, or anything that you feel might be valuable to them.

Unforgettable Guided Tour of Victoria Falls – Both Sides!
Our guided tour of Victoria Falls, covering both the Zimbabwean and Zambian sides, was absolutely fantastic. Everything was made incredibly easy from start to finish – from border crossings to entry logistics – which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the experience. The guides were not only friendly and laid-back, but also shared a lot of useful and interesting historical information that really brought the area to life. Their passion and knowledge added so much depth to the visit. If you're already making the journey to see Victoria Falls, I highly recommend seeing it from both countries. Each side offers unique and breathtaking perspectives that you simply can't miss. This tour made that effortless and unforgettable. Definitely worth it!

          Wow!!
Wow! The Mosi oa Tunya falls are truly a wonder of the world!! The Zimbabwe side of the falls was amazing but make sure to go to the Zambia side- the falls are closer and the thunder will take your breath away. Definitely a spiritual experience standing in front of the falls getting drenched by the mist!!

          Experience of a lifetime!
This was such a perfect trip! My top 5 moments- the river cruise, the drive into Chobe park- got to see lions!, eating at the lookout cafe’, the Boma dinner- the drumming was fantastic and fun!, and our hotel was also such a fun, clean, safe, place to stay. I would rate higher if I could! A great mix of adventure and relaxation. They really showed us a lot about the culture. In particular Simon was an amazing guide.

          Victoria Falls Sightseeing tour.
Our guide Prudence was so lovely and knowledgeable about Victoria Falls. We saw all the best viewing spots on the route up to Livingstone Bridge. We had the opportunity to shop at the little market after to buy souvenirs.

          Amazing Tour!
We booked this trip not knowing what to expect. We had never been to any one of these three countries. After booking the tour, Cuckoo Safaris responded to our questions promptly. Simon picked us up from the airport in a clean and comfortable vehicle. Took us to our hotel and updated us on the activities planned for our time in the region. He told us exactly what to expect at each point and place. This tour involves several border crossings and we were always prepared ahead of time on what to expect. The guide from Zimbabwe would always make sure to introduce us to the guide in Zambia or Botswana. We were never left to fend for ourselves anywhere! Mosi au Tunya (Victoria Falls) involves a lot of walking. The path is paved well enough that you could push a stroller or wheelchair if needed. Big shoutout to (Del) the young lady tour guide Victoria Falls - Zambia side and the young man on the Zimbabwe side. Very articulate and attentive to us. Slowed down to our pace (we stopped a lot to take photos of the falls) but they also came prepared with rain coats because the mist from the falls is like rain! Simon is very knowledgeable about his country, the history, culture and customs plus, he is a great communicator! He recommended the Lookout Restaurant and we went there for lunch one day: Amazing view of the falls! Would highly recommend this trip!!

          Perfect Safari Adventure
We had a fantastic week-long trip through Botswana and to Victoria Falls with Cuckoo Safari. After informing them of what we wanted to experience on our trip, they were able to draw up a fantastic itinerary. It was an unforgettable trip and we loved the activities and accommodations. A truly perfect Safari adventure. Our tour operator, Simon, went through great lengths to ensure our trip was truly perfect. I really appreciated his attention to detail, for example, ensuring our accommodations and activity operators along the way prepare vegetarian meal for me, and always making sure we had lots of chilled water in the car. He drove us between our different destinations, which was a wonderful experience because he could share a lot about the local culture, history and wildlife as we drove. Speaking of wildlife, Simon was really great at spotting lots of animals along the route and would to stop the vehicle so we could get a look and take photos. Thanks Cuckoo Safari!

Very memorable one week Safari trip
We did a one week trip to Vic falls, Chobe National Park, the Kalahari desert and Okavango Delta. We felt the entire trip was well organised, we stayed in beautiful accommodations, the drives and transfers were fun, smooth and with engaging drivers and we felt very comfortable the whole time. We would happily book again with them.

This private tour from Vic Falls is an exceptional experience. Visiting a local farmer in a village gives an insight into the beliefs, traditions and lifestyle of a traditional Zimbabwean family
Displaying generosity and grace I was warmly welcomed into their home and he shared the struggles and aspirations that are a part of rural life. As a bonus, my wonder driver and guide arranged for me to visit a local community school.

Wildlife and waterfalls are indeed spectacular but for a genuine understanding of Africa this cultural experience lead by Simon is outstanding .

This is not a village tour, you meet one family slightly out of town. What is interesting is that it seems this is the only family being visited which is evident by looking at the pictures on the activity and traveller's activities.
They live on a piece of land with a few rondavels, the visit seems a bit staged where the homestead doesnt really "looked lived in" especially the kitchen. You pay for the activity, you provide the family with a token of appreciation, you are taken to a school and provide a donation there as well. All in all it is an expensive activity when you combine donations and activity fee. The highlight is the family is welcoming, the lady talks about how a typical day is spent and some cultural traditions which is interesting.

Hi Thank you so much for your review and taking your time to review. We give our guests a chance to choose a homestead they feel they would want to visit, though we have a homestead we refer our clients for the sake of information and experience . On the donation as it is not mandatory to leave any but if highlighted it feels like it was compulsory, which i think it has to come from the heart.

It is very expensive comparing with what you do. They say a bottle of water is included but they don't give us. The duration is not 3 hours, but 1 hour as much.

I expect part of the money goes to the rural family, cause there were very friendly

Thank you for taking time to write this review. This tour its actually depends on you and we have clients that spend more than 3 hours since everything it will depends with our guest. We charge $50 for this tour and part of the money goes to the village. We really apologies for not providing water as the guide forget to give you water. For the benefit of our future clients this tour depends with guests, no rush in Africa
