An Experience Of A Life Time
Salaga, the ancient slave town. The story concerning slave trade in Ghana started from this town, Salaga, in the Northern Region of Ghana. My recent journey with a group of tourist from the USA who were in Ghana for the Emancipation day celebration and also to join in some of the activities for ‘The Year Of Return’ left me speechless and helpless while in Salaga. The slave wells from which water was fetched or drawn for domestic use is still standing till date as can be seen in the photo here. The people of Salaga now have what they call ‘rituals’ for the families or descendants of the colonial slaves and it all starts at the outskirts of the town by washing their feet as can be seen in the photo attached to this write up.

        Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We engaged Guiding Tours in Ghana/ West Africa on a central region tour and it was the best weekend of our lives. The tour guides are so friendly and affectionate with so much knowledge of the terrain; history and culture. I’d recommend to anyone who wants a sensual experience while gathering much knowledge. Great work guys. Keep up
