About
The Tamarind Falls, also called the 7 cascades, is an enjoyable hike in the heart of the island. Our 3 hours guided hike is a highlight of the best waterfalls on the spot. Surrounded by lush green forests and dark volcanic rocks, we progress on single tracks and open areas offering astonishing views upon the falls and the canyons. During the walk, we have the possibility to enjoy a nice swim in the natural pool that water has carved in the rock, and appreciate a natural massage under the cascades. This hike is suitable for the whole family and lasts more or less 3 hours including the swim breaks.

The Tamarind Falls, also called the 7cascades, is an adventurous hike in the heart of the island. It’s a total immersion in our tropical forest, where we will discover five of seven waterfall of Tamarind one after the other. Located in the centre of Mauritius, the hike offers a great discovery of the diverse nature of Mauritius. Surrounded by lush green forests and dark volcanic rocks, we progress on single tracks and open areas offering astonishing views upon the falls and the canyons. It was a great adventure to see Tamarind waterfalls with our lovely and experienced guide Jeremie.
The hike is lovely and the views are breathtaking!
Definitely worth visiting!
I am also very thankful to Jeremie, our guide who waited for me with the rest of the group, as I was late due to transport issues. Thank you, Jeremie!

We did the hike in a group of 7 with our guide Fabrice. The booking process was very straight forward and the confirmation e-mail comprised an exact google maps location of the meeting point as well as useful information to prepare for the hike (wear shoes with a good profile and cover exposed skin with mosquito repellent as there are armies of them flying around).

We definitely recommend taking the hike with Yanature and particularly Fabrice as it can be difficult at times to find your way around in the forest which also features some tricky and slippery passages.

Fabrice did a great job. He prioritized safety and comfortability of the participants at all time while also being happy to chat and teach you about the island's flora. He is also very happy to point out good spots to capture your holiday experience in beautiful pictures.

We visited 5 of the 7 waterfalls (half-day tour option) since the other two waterfalls were too dangerous to reach due to heavy rain over the previous days. The hike offers great views over the valley as well as some thrilling views on and down the waterfalls (for those who dare to take a peek over the cliff). Our personal highlight was the swim in the bassin of the last waterfall to relax and enjoy the cool water. We definitely recommend this hiking trip with Yanature and in particular with Fabrice.

Excellent hike in the falls, up and down in the forest but not too strenuous although we only did the half day! Would think the whole day would be good as well. We had A grand hike, amazing views and a lovely swim at the base of one of the falls. Expertly guided by Prakash and Nirvan. Prakash also sorted our transport, lunch and even a cup of coffee from his lovely wife. Thanks! I would recommend for walking lovers. We found out about Prakash here on trip advisor and just messaged him - you can contact him on WhatsApp +230 5760867.

Green Discovery - Me and my boyfriend went to tamarind Falls Hiking on 12 Oct 2021 and we found it a very good experience. The view was amazing. Our guide was very kind and proactive, always helping us in every step of the way. We were able to swim in a fall, the guide took good photos and also have experience with small fish on our feet. The food was also very good - snack in the Middle of the tour and a very tasty lunch at Ravinal restaurant.
Great experience and could not get a better guide with us (guide name: Nirvan)

The hike was simply great, we went stop by each waterfall to enjoy the view, swim and have a lovely conversation with the guide. The guide new so much about the birds, about the type of trees of the area. It was not just a hike with a wonderful view but we also found more about Mauritius nature, culture and heritage.

I totally advice this experience

A hike that was different from your usual hike (no typical markings, steep, lots of vegetation - all making it relatively easy to get lost without a guide or other orientation tools) . The hike was a bit more difficult the day we've done it due to early morning rain showers - but it was well worth the effort. Bring appropriate shoes for hiking, as the trails can be muddy, rocky and slippery.

At the top you get breath taking views of the surrounding peaks, cliffs, cascades, lakes and forests! You also get a chance to swim in the clear (but deep, dark and cold !) waters. It was simply heavenly way to unwind on a hot day.

The guides are helpful and fun, as well as well informed on the history and eco system of the area. They also contributed to making the tour memorable.

Our two guides did a great job!
Even the way is not that easy, it is really worth it.

A group of us took part in the half day Tamarin Falls hike with Dirk, who was fabulous and very knowledgable. I thoroughly recommend booking through Yanature. The route can be quite slippy in places so wear proper hiking shoes/trainers.

We had a brilliant time hiking with our guide, Dimitry. He was friendly and fun and patient with everyone in the group. The hike was easy and it was satisfying seeing all the breathtaking waterfalls and swimming in the beautiful, clear waters. The booking process was easy and we’d definitely recommend going with them. The highlight of our trip!

My husband and I did two hikes with Yanature: full day Tamarind falls with Emmanuel and Dirk and Le Morne Brabant with Fabrice. The hikes were a bit more challenging than expected, especially the parts with rock climbing on Le Morne, but the guides were helping us every step of the way. They also showed us different plants, birds and animals around, so we learned a lot about Mauritian flora and founa. One point for improvement would be that during the Tamarind falls hike they should give more time for photos and admiring the beautiful nature around, so do speak up whenever you want to take it slow.

The nature is absolutely gorgeous and Yanature folks make it super fun experience, so the hikes are totally worth your time, money and physical effort :)
