Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi National Park

Pass By: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kanungu Uganda
Our representative will pick you up in Kigali and drive to Bwindi National Park. The drive to Uganda will go through Rwanda's northern town of Ruhengeri. You will then cross over into Uganda via Kyanika border post. The drive continues through the nearby Kisoro town and finally to Bwindi national park. The journey should take about 4-5 hrs. Arriving at Bwindi national park early afternoon will give you an opportunity to do optional activities such as hiking, visiting the community, etc. Since Bwindi is closer to Kigali, it is possible to depart Kigali around mid-day.

Meals included:
• Lunch
• Dinner
Accommodation included: Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure

Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kanungu Uganda
You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The briefing will be conducted by the national park guide and will cover the basics on what to expect during the trek. It is at this point that you will be told which gorilla family to trek. It is likely that you will be joined by other visitors. The gorilla trek can take from few to many hours depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest.

Note: Depending on the availability of gorilla trekking permits, we might suggest trekking the gorillas at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Duration: 9 hours

Meals included:
• Breakfast
• Dinner
• Lunch
Accommodation included: Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions

Stop At: Queen Elizabeth National Park, 410 kilometers from Kampala, Kasese Uganda
We will start the journey in the morning from Kisoro/Bwindi area and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. The journey will take you through the stunning landscapes of western Uganda. You will arrive at Queen Elizabeth national park in the late afternoon.

Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions

On way from Kisoro/Bwindi, we will drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park popularly known for the tree climbing lions. Unlike their counterparts at the Kasenyi plains, the lions at Ishasha have found way to climb the fig trees in a way to enjoy the warm temperatures available in the park. While the sighting of the tree climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at Ishasha is worth a visit!
Duration: 2 hours

Meals included:
• Breakfast
• Dinner
• Lunch
Accommodation included: Overnight at Bush Lodge or Buffalo Safari Lodge

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking at Kalinzu Forest Reserve

Stop At: Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve, Bushenyi Uganda
You will head to Kalinzu forest immediately after breakfast to experience trekking the chimpanzees in their forest home. If you are lucky on the trek, you might encounter other different species of monkeys in the Kibale forest. These include colubus monkey, olibe baboon and red tailed monkey. Transfer to Kigali or Kampala/Entebbe immediately after the chimpanzee trek.

Alternatively, do game drives in the morning, and drive to Kigali or Kampala after the game drive.
