About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 895karenw0 contributionsCan match solo travellers to make a groupOut of all the companies I emailed, Judith Safaris were the only ones who were able to match me up with other solo travellers to make a group and share the cost. No other tour company seemed interested. I had a really good day. The other travellers were really nice our guides were excellent. It’s always a bit of luck with a safari but we did pretty well and saw a lot. I would genuinely recommend this company if you are travelling alone. I had to be a bit flexible on dates but to share the cost it was really worth it. Aside from the safari, Emeline also helped me with loads of advice regarding buses etc. and how much to pay for a local taxi, which was really appreciated. I also think it’s great to support a female orientated business 💪Written 31 August 2024
- Tourist282967241160 contributionsWonderful experience! My guides Alice and Yvette from Judith Safaris were fun, kind, professional and still like sisters. We traveled from Musanze Rwanda to Bwindi and lake Bunyonyi in Uganda and the trip with these women couldn’t have been better. I would strongly recommend Judith Safaris to anyone. Also this company has a focus on empowering women and bringing more women into the field of tourism. 10/10!Written 24 August 2024

- iguillo0 contributionsJudith Safaris Made Our Trip One of the Most Memorable of My Life!I cannot express how impressed I am with the ladies of Judith Safaris. Recently, I coordinated a two week long vacation for family and friends, traveling to Rwanda and Tanzania, using Judith Safaris. The young ladies who were our guides (Alice and Yvette), were excellent. Our trip coordinator Emily, was also excellent. They suggested dining options, hotels, and attractions that I wouldn't have come up with myself, and made it all work together into a seamless vacation for the ages. I would recommend Judith Safaris to anyone who wants an authentic East African vacation / itinerary, and knowing their mission of empowering young Rwandan women, makes it all the more worthwhile to support this women-owned company. Judith Safaris has a customer for life in me!Written 16 August 2024
- Elaine A0 contributionsAmazing AfricaThe overall experience was great. We were met at Kigali airport on time and with knowledgeable guides, who escorted us during our entire visit in Africa. However I do have one issue that I must present and it was our stay at “Twin Lakes” resort. While the location is beautiful, the accommodations left much to be desired, with no electricity or hot water. I would not stay there again without hot water and electricity. Please advise the host of my issues.Written 14 August 2024
- nadinejD9684IC0 contributionsJudith Safaris will give you an experience that you will never forget. You will want to make this an annual trip.I don't know where to start! We had the most amazing taste of Africa tour ever. We painted the town with Judith's team. Her guides were so knowledgeable and they rolled out the red carpet for us on this 16 day tour. From Kigali to Tanzania they made us feel at home. I would definitely do this tour again and hope to have Alice, Yvette, Dana, Tuma, Frank, Doris, and there's one more, who name has slipped my mind, to be our tour guide.Written 13 August 2024
- itjl240 contributionsExcellentHi Just returned from the 1 day gorillas trek at Volcanoes. I'm in pain because of terrain and my poor fitness..but Wow. It's was one of the most exhilarating experience of my life. The guides and entire packages was excellent Special thank you to my driver/friend Kevin...you were simply the best/awesome Please use them Thank you again John NaidooWritten 13 June 2024
- 988douglasm0 contributionsVery convenient, great guideWent with my 15 yo daughter. Two days, one night -- Saturday morning pickup in Kigali, Sunday evening return. Judith arranged everything, no muss no fuss. Very simple and easy. We saw lots of zebras, lots of hippos and birds (on the lake cruise), one buffalo, one elephant. No lions or leopards, but that's just random chance. What moved this from four stars to five was the driver / guide, Irere. Friendly, punctual, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and the birds. Ask for Irere -- *especially* if you are a bird person. The birds may be less dramatic than lions or elephants, but there are a fantastic variety of them, and if you have a knowledgeable guide they can be very interesting. Recommended.Written 1 May 2024
- linc1050 contributionsFemale powered, timely communication, professional serviceJudith Safaris is a female powered tour company that provides customized tours and packaged tours. We got recommendations from multiple sources (NGO run by a friend, female powered resort…), and didn’t regret to cooperate with them for a customized two week tour throughout Rwanda. Alice our driver is patient, helpful, punctual, and friendly. She is not afraid to take challenges and did her best to make sure we are comfortable and happy during the road trip. She also tried to provide many useful recommendations to make our trip more relaxing and interesting. When we were registering for our gorilla trekking trip in Volcanoes National Park, I was proud but a bit sad to see Alice was the only female guide amongst almost 40 guides that day. The communication we had with their back office when we were planning the details of the itinerary, and during our trip was very timely and helpful as well. Please consider to work with Judith!Written 27 February 2024

- NoosaKings0 contributionsJust like visiting familyDuring the 2 years of COVID, the gorillas apparently missed the "visitors" so much they wandered down into the local villages looking for them. We felt privileged to visit these primates in their home jungle. Our guide, porters and gunman were exceptional. Our gorilla family was quite a mobile one, which meant we had to walk quite awhile to catch up, helped by porters through dense jungle of the Virunga Mtns. On arrival, our family was sleeping, or trying to without much success due to the antics of the littlest member of the troupe who kept jumping on the other gorillas trying to entice them to play. We visited for an hour watching them play, snooze, eat and interact with each other. Our guide was "speaking" to the family anytime they appeared unsettled which resulted in a spectacular visit for us. We started to leave when the Silverback decided it was time for the family to move on as well, and the entire family trouped past us, nearly trodding on our toes. We got it all on film and video and we were delighted with our experience. Top knotch service by our guides and porters, who helped us over the jungle floor which is littered with vegetation, fall tree trunks and vines. It was a memorable day and I would do it again in a heartbeat.Written 12 January 2024
- Culture6832180 contributionsAmazingWe had an amazing experience with Judithsafaris. Everything was set according to ours demands et we were more than amazed by the tour. Our guide Paul was wonderful, very Kind and had some fun facts to share with us. We had to chance to do the royal ballon. We were just à little disappointed by the food because we wanted to eat some local specialites but other than that, it was good. Maybe include some binoculars. Thank you for a beautiful safariWritten 1 January 2024

- 797chandrag0 contributionsI learned so much about RwandaI visited Rwanda as a solo traveler for the first time ever - both Rwanda & solo traveling as a first time. I'm so thankful I chose Judith Safari to book my gorilla & coffee plantation tour over two days. One reason I picked them was because they are woman owned, woman led. We gotta' support each other! They took care of everything. It was so easy! I even had a 4am pickup for the gorillas - which felt a little scary, meeting a stranger from the other side of the planet to take me to mysterious places in the dark. The gorilla experience is like visiting another planet and the coffee tour was incredibly educational. I'll never look at coffee the same! Both experiences were on opposite ends of the country (N & S) so I got to see so much without realizing it when I booked the trip. My guide was fantastic and pointed out things I wouldn't have realized had significance - like crossing a bridge where the Nile originates! I highly recommend this to anyone.Written 2 September 2023
- 956gilbertev0 contributionsKigali and surroundings with MikoWe hired a car with driver who came to pick us up at the airport. Everything was super well organised. Mico was not only a driver but showed himself to be a true tour guide. He came up with good ideas for an initial exploration of Kigali and its surroundings. Thank you Judith Safaris and MicoWritten 25 August 2023
