About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- BruinFamily0 contributionsBandia Park Safair good; Skip the non-pink lake.First, it was hard to find our specific driver/guide among the many at cruise port, as he didn't have our name on a sign like the other tour operators had. We worked hard to get off our cruise ship right on time (8:15) for an 8:30 confirmed departure time. Driver had us wait at his car for over an hour while he helped organize other SGT tours. Our tour at Pink Lake was not arranged ahead of time so there were no 4x4s available there; we waited again before they finally found an alternative 4x4, but it kept breaking down, stopped for a long time in sand dunes before they could re-start it. Also, the Pink Lake was not pink at all and there is nothing interesting to see there, so not worth the time it involved. We were eager to go to Bandia Park safari, the main attraction of this tour! By the time we got to Bandia, it was getting late, so we had to skip the included Lunch altogether, and had to shorten our safari time considerably. Only had about 1 hr on safari, as the drive from Pink Lake is long and then driving in very heavy traffic back to the Port takes 2 hours, and we made it back just in time before the "all abord" time for passengers before the ship leaves. We wished we had left at 8:30 as promised, gone straight to Bandia for safari, and skipped "Pink" Lake altogether. At the Lake we just saw the salt extraction area, equipment and some salt piles. Driving the very rough sand dunes to the strip of sand at the sea was also a waste of time unless you've never ridden off-road or seen the ocean-- especially frustrating in a vehicle that broke down a few times and you sit, waiting and wondering if you are going to get going again, and if you will ever get to your safari.Written 24 April 2024
- martinafuchs20180 contributionsTop guide for experiencing Senegal! We had the most amazing time with Senegal Global Tours! I can recommend the company at the highest level. Mamadou and the driver were very insightful, helpful and did way more than was required or paid for. They reflected the true meaning of Senegal's "Teranga" culture of hospitality, humour, sharing and community. We look very forward to coming back again soon. Merci beaucoup!Written 21 February 2023
- 383ingridz0 contributionsThe delight of a tripHats off to the leaders of Senegal Global Tours. On my way back to Sweden, I must confess that my first visit to Africa was a real delight thanks to the professionalism and dedication of the trip organizers. I really appreciated how they managed the visit from beginging to end keeping all their promises in terms of quality of service, provision of appropriate information, responses to my queries and anticipation of my needs. I will see to it to spread the word around me because many trip organizers usually present to potential visitors attractive services but often fail to fuifil their promises. Goree Island and the Monument of African Renaissance offered me the opportunity to open pages of the continent's sad history and to hold out a hope for a rising Africa despite the challenges that the countries are facing. Thank you Senegal Global Tours making this trip memorable.Written 6 November 2022
- PICKETTfa0 contributionsTrip to senegalI loved the trip with Mamadou, an incredibly supportive guide who gives you a glimpse of his own life experiences as well as valuing yours. The trip was not just beautiful but also very educational. I was shown all Dakar interest places in détails. Goree Island was also a highlight for me I highly recommend this tripWritten 18 June 2022
- khadypouye0 contributionsGreat expériencegreat stay in senegal an atmosphere like nowhere else very well guided by a person who knows the terrain I was very pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the Senegalese guide. I discovered the island of Goree it was an unforgettable visit with an emotion through the journey and the destiny of the island. The visit was very well explained and really I do not regret at all having followed a guide who knows his terrain, through Dakar I was able to discover the monument of the African renaissance with the added bonus of a visit to the museum at a very cheap. these Holidays will remain forever in my heart and memory. I also thank the guide who did not give up on us. Do not hesitate to take a guided tour of the key points of Senegal. Teranga!!!!Written 13 June 2022
- layired0 contributionsgood quality service and hospitalityI just returned from Senegal after a trip I booked with Senegal Global Tours. I am still so impressed and moved by the quality of the stay and the warmth of the welcome. Visiting Goree Island, walking through the walls of the House of Slaves where thousands of Africans were contained before being shipped away through the "Door of No Return" reminded me the cruelty of the humanity. I also have in mind the joyful merchants walking around the island offering to visitors souvenirs that will help them remember their trip to the monument of the tragedy of the slave trade. My tour of Dakar city allowed me to have a better grasp of the vibrancy of the town and the warmth of the Senegalese teranga or hospitality which is not just a vain word. I still have in my eyes the colors of the streets and the voices of the people kindly asking me "Na nga def" which means "How are you" in Wolof language as my tour guide explained to me. I had the chance to take various photos that will help me promote the destination and the diversity of the culture. The trip was worth the price and I highly recommend Senegal Global tour for the professionalism of the manager and the quality of the service.Written 11 June 2022
- pYr3haXhZognkdpQ0 contributionsI was ripped offSummary: (i) Admission to African Renaissance Monument not included in price; (ii) We did not stop anywhere in Downtown Dakar; (iii) Price too high, value not there; (iv) Car was only okay, but the driver disappeared while I was at Gorée Island with the guide and we had to take a taxi back; (v) Guide spent a lot of time on his phone; and (vi) Guide did nothing to reduce/stop constant harassment from the sellers on Gorée Island I booked in advance through WhatsApp to save money and paid in cash (75,000 FCFA) during the tour. We started at the African Renaissance Monument, the price for which (3,000 FCFA) was NOT included in the quote. We only saw the monument and Gorée Island; we did not stop anywhere in Downtown Dakar. For US$120, I've gotten better value with other tours in other countries. It felt like we lost a lot of time waiting at the entrance to the monument and especially for the ferry. I hated Gorée Island, the saleswomen were insanely aggressive and completely ripped me off on two purchases. Whenever a seller approached me, the guide would just walk away or say "they're my sisters." A lot time was wasted haggling with them and asking them to leave me alone, during this time the guide could have shown me more things. To top things off, the driver ran off while we were at Gorée, so we had to take a regular taxi back to my apartment. Huge waste of 8.5 hours of my day and $120 of my money. Other than some photos, I didn't get much out of this experience and would not recommend.Written 30 April 2022

We had an amazing tour! We learned so much about the city, the country and the culture. We really enjoyed all of the places we visited but especially the opportunity to visit some of the places we never would have seen or been able to go without our kind and gracious guide and driver. We saw a fishing community and artist community and learned more about their lives. My favorite part was standing on the western most tip of Africa. Dakar is a very large city and it is not possible to get around all by yourself or by walking. I highly recommend booking this tour!

This was my first tour in Dakar. I just loved the African Renaissance Monument and museum.
It was a good start to my visit. I saw a lot and learned a lot. My tour guide was excellent.
However I walked up 200 steps to get to the monument. I think there was a way to drive up but I guess my tour guide wanted me to get a real feel for things. Well, I easily went over my step goal

Lamine was absolutely amazing! He was so knowledgeable, very passionate historian and educator. He was very patient and took his time answering thoroughly. I’ve visited and he was able to accommodate German, French and English translations of the history of the region. He was very clear about his own personal journey and Senegal and was able to give a very critical thought for perspective on culture, politics, globalization and then As well religion and the relationship between humanity and philosophies of economic development. He demonstrated humility, humor, patience, and fortitude with designing our tour schedule to accommodate flexibility And difficulty with my luggage. He made excellent food recommendations, and was also able to take pictures and facilitate taking pictures with the locals. Because he is well known for his good standing in the urban and suburban community, and the tourism sector, it was very easy to be the guests that he was helping and many people bargained with us with even more rigor because of our connection to him. Very much so I appreciate all of the care, the history, the passion, the knowledge that was demonstrated and it really helped us to assimilate into Senegalese culture on a very short trip. I am honored and so is my mother. When he grabbed us from Magic land, and the way that he introduced himself and explained how everything was going to work, I knew from that moment that we were in very good hands and very good company. I cannot wait to come back. Jerejef maitre! On y va a la gare la prochaine.
