- Q6099AUandreasb0 contributions11 days solo trip with great guide in UgandaGreat guide Zedius. He is friendly and drives very safe and knows everything about all animals and birds and give always recommendations about optional things to do. He also speaks very good German. Of course he speaks English. It seems that he knows everybody in the national parks. The tour we have done was great. Uganda is really worth to go. Different landscapes, from rain forests, to mountains, to savannah, to tea plantage. And the food is great as well (we had some much great fruits). The lodges were good as well (I booked the budget option). It's a lot of driving (sometimes 7 hours), but no problem for me. I have done a 11 day journey. Organization was great as well as communication was with travel agency. Hedmond has doing a great job, because he gave me some advices about a potential tour schedule. At the end it was exactly what I wanted. I was all individual. Hope to see you again, pearl of Africa.Written 2 February 2025
- 1990_RichJWilson0 contributionsAmazing time in Uganda! We booked through Home To Africa after reading so many of their good reviews. Even the communication before the trip was excellent and they were super fast to help with any questions we had. We booked a 4 day trip which included the Gorilla trekking, a visit to Lake Mburo National Park where we done a walking safari and got to see giraffes up very close, and then a stop at Lake Bunyonyi where we stayed on a peaceful island. Eli our guide was just brilliant from start to finish. A very happy and knowledgeable guide who will go out of his way to help with any requests you may have, who also made us feel safe for our entire trip. We are very grateful we had Eli to show us around Uganda for the first part of our honeymoon and we leave with so many great memories, thank you so much!Written 31 January 2025

- F192YQgeorgias0 contributionsBest trip everOur 16 day trip with Derek around Uganda was an absolute trip of a life time. Every effort was taken to make sure that we were looked after - even right down to details telling us what side of a boat to sit on to see the best animals. Derek was so knowledgeable about every aspect of his wonderful country and seemingly knew everyone. We saw incredible wildlife at every turn and already can't wait to come back. Thank you so much Derek and Home to Africa!Written 20 January 2025
- bestsZagreb0 contributionsincredible guide, tour and companymy trip '8 days to see gorillas and chimpanzees' justified the no. 1 rank of the agency home to africa tours and travel. the agency is very professional and reliable in every sense: marketing, sales, finance and guidance of course. my guide Benon is a great person who knows everything about uganda and east africa as well. Benon insisted that every issue of the itinerary and even more will be achieved, although I myself not so mind.Written 20 January 2025
- hollydW427RQ0 contributionsBest Safari ever… cannot wait to come back and do more… fantastic choices and accomodation, and best guide…Most wonderful 5 days in Uganda; we cannot wait to come back, it really is the Pearl of Africa. Our time was as enjoyable and memorable as a result of our beautiful and knowledgeable tour guide (Derek/Wadria). The safari vehicle was comfortable, and reliable, we never broke down or blew a tyre. The lodges that the company chose were very ethically conscious of supporting the community and made us feel positive that we were contributing. The introduction to the programs they are running was amazing, and particularly life changing for us was Ride 4 a Woman. Our guides we said was amazing - we very strongly recommend you ask for Wadria/Derek. So patient and considerate, if you go to take a photo he will slow down, pull over, amazing… Professional photographer, took most amazing photos of us, funny, great choice in regards to music, beautiful values and respectful to women. Went out of his way to be able accommodate iur specific interests in which animals and did his very best to ensure we saw them. He even turned around and allowed us to go back into the park and preserved until we saw our wish to see the lions in the trees, amazing. Loved to engage in conversation, and interested to learn of our culture and lifestyle. He made the journey so comfortable, and accomodating to our needs and interests. Fantastic driver, we felt safe at all times and enjoyed the free ‘African massage’. Great respect shown to him from other guides and lodge owners/managers.Written 19 January 2025
- BreakBorders0 contributionsAwesome 12 day trip to Uganda!I went on a safari trip too ugnda in Dec of 24 for a duration of 12 days. I selected home to africa after reading reviews on-line. I requested qoutes from 5 different tour companies all of whom were quite good in their own way. Home2africa's cost and itinerary were most suitable for my needs. The qoute privided was detailed and clear. All optional activities and costs were clearly mentioned. There were multiple payment options provided. Communication through the planning process and post contract was prompt and clear to understand. Derrik was our guide for the entire trip. He is an excellent guide and above all, a good-hearted young man. He cares deeply for his country and society. Our trip took us from Entebbe to Ziva sanctuary, Murchison falls, Queen Elizabeth national park, Kibale, Bwindi, Lake Bunyonyi, and Lake Mburro and ending at Entebbe. We had a memorable visit. On things that can be better: The vehicle windows and door were difficult to operate. We arrived early morning aroud 5.20AM local time. The pickup was at 6. We waited outside airport with no communication. Providing assigned guide and contact can help.Written 16 January 2025

We had an amazing few days and getting up close and personal with the gorillas was an unforgettable experience. We appreciate all your help on our holiday and will highly recommend you to our friends and family. 💙👊🦍Written 8 January 2025
- E9829RXkatel0 contributionsOut of this world…Thank you so very much to our wonderful and beautiful guide Eli for the most amazing experience and exposure to Uganda. From the moment he picked us up perfectly on time to when he dropped us back at Entebbe airport, we felt safe, secure, we learned so much and we had the most spectacular experience with the family of Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, it was hard to believe we were actually there! The team at Home to Africa ensured we had a seamless trip and we all fell in love with Uganda and are so grateful for what you are doing to preserve these amazing animals and their habitat - we are just so lucky to have been given the opportunity to visit their world. Their accommodation choices at Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi also just spectacular. Thank you Eli and Home To Africa from the bottom of our Australian hearts ♥️Written 8 January 2025
- Kristie9990 contributionsExcellent guide! Excellent trip!My friend group planned a gorilla trekking trip with another group that stole our money (a known issue with the travel bureau) and it was truly a blessing in disguise. Home to Africa took our previously planned trip and customized a new trip for us. They got permits swiftly and booked everything. It was a smooth and seamless transition. Our guide, Gunn, was the real MVP of this trip. He was timely, accommodating, fun, knowledgeable, and hilarious. Our group basically made him our 4th group member and new BFF and invited him to eat with us and hang out. By the end of the trip we were making music videos to send home to the US, swapping instagram handles, and tearfully hugging him goodbye. He was a true rockstar. I mean he did MAKE me give away all my candy to the cutest kids (just kidding! That’s an inside joke.). Overall we loved our experience. Gunn made sure we saw each animal we could, he stopped at every place we asked, and made stuff happen for us. It was a genuine pleasure to have him with us. It hadn’t occurred to me that we’d be spending 8 days with a total stranger (over Christmas, too!) and that we’d get to know each other so well. We were so lucky to get the guide we did. I highly recommend Gunn as your guide. As for each activity it was spectacular and life changing. Gorillas and sleeping lions and the vast beauty of Uganda stole my heart. I’ll be back again someday and I hope this company, and Gunn, are available. 10/10Written 6 January 2025
- Meander413046323530 contributionsThe great trip full of impressionsI would like to extend my sincerest gratitude for the trip. It was very well constructed and organized. A very big thank you to our guide Vianney who excelled in his job both as a guide and as a chauffeur. He both shoved us and explained everything there is to know about Ugandan birds and animals. We learned about Ugandan traditions, everyday life and cuisines. Vianney listened to our requests and realized them all in real life. We are extremely happy that our dream of visiting Uganda came true. Our most sincere thank you! Vita LakuteWritten 6 January 2025
- Caroline B0 contributionsAmazing safari in Kenya, highly recommendWe did a custom 6 day safari tour of Samburu, lake Naivasha and Masai Mara and everything was very well organized. They helped us organize hotels, transport and guide and the hotels they recommended were great. Our guide and driver (Jeremy) is very knowledgeable, great at spotting wildelife and understand how the animals move and he is also a good driver and focused on safety. We would highly recommend the agency and also our guide for safari in Kenya.Written 5 January 2025
- noagoesplaces0 contributionsGreat reliable company, well recommendedDid a customized trip Rwanda-Uganda-Kenya with Home To Africa. The company is super flexible which was important for a custom trip and awesome (we were able to craft our own itinerary with their help, they were flexible if we wanted some specific lodge/hotel, specific add-on activities in addition to the typical game-drives, and during the trip if we needed to change itinerary based on weather or mood that was perfectly fine also). Truly a fully customized experience, so it didn't feel like a package tour. We had gotten price quotes from multiple companies, and Home To Africa was very competitively priced compared to others, with prompt easy communication. It still an expensive vacation (like any safari), but we didn't feel ripped off at the price quote after adding in all the lodge/jeep/permits/park-fees/driver-guide costs. The company has well-maintained, good 4x4 safari jeeps with two spare tires, which is important for the road conditions (we went at the tail end of wet season). Shoutout to Zedius, our driver-guide in Uganda who works with Home To Africa, who was by far the best driver I've experienced in over 150 countries considering the road conditions, and he was charming, informative and engaging on the long game-drives. He proactively suggested extra activities and stops to enhance our trips (during the downtime between game-drives), and was willing to acomodate any requests we had over the trip, which was great.Written 4 January 2025

I went on a trip in Uganda few months back. The safari we went was an unforgettable experience. We got our guide from Home to Africa travels and tours and he was quite knowledgeable, fries didn’t well spoken. While providing necessary pandemic precautions we had an amazing experience witnessing the wild life and natural habitat.

Nasser was our guide/driver... a lovely man who was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, had a great love for his country and nothing was too much trouble for him. He has been in this business for long enough to know everyone, which was invaluable even on our first day when a couple of phone calls brought us straight to a pride of lions eating their kill.. magical! Our hotels.. you couldnt expect higher standards.. and food was excellent and plentiful. Elias.. the boss.. also went above and beyond to make sure our Ugandan experience went without a hitch.
The only bit of advice i could give.. maybe give yourself a day in the city to sort yourself out before embarking on the safari.. i myself wasted some of our own time... no fault of h to a. Dont bother checking out any other safari companies .. click straight on Home to Africa!
