Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu (1300 meters)

Stop At: Tribhuvan International Airport, Ring Rd, काठमाडौँ 44600, Nepal
On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from our office will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. You’ll have rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Sightseeing Tour in Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath and Swoyambhunath Temple

Stop At: Pashupatinath Temple, Pashupati Nath Road, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath, a pagoda style Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is considered to be the powerhouse of Hindu spiritual power in religious terms. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple is 6 kms from Kathmandu city.Behind the temples are the cremation grounds.

Stop At: Boudhanath Stupa, Boudh Boudha, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
Boudhnath Stupa: Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list, this enormous stupa where thousands of pilgrims gather daily to make a ritual circumnavigation of the dome, beneath the watchful eyes of the Buddha, which gaze out from the gilded central tower. This is one of the few places in the world where Tibetan Buddhist culture is accessible and unfetered, and the lanes around the stupa are crammed with monasteries and the surrounding is a paraphernalia for Buddhist life.

Stop At: Swayambhunath Temple, Swayamhu Circle Road, Kathmandu 44620 Nepal
Swoyambhunath Temple: This Buddhist Stupa, said to be 2000 years old is a perfect architecture of gilded spire and white washed dome located under thousands of fluttering prayer flags. From the spire, four faces of Buddha stare out across the valley in the cardinal directions. The entire structure is symbolic.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: is one of three royal palace squares in the Kathmandu Valley. This site was the royal residence until the 19th century where important ceremonies, such as the coronation of the Nepalese monarch use to take place.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar; Hike to Liding 860m (Drive Time:8 Hrs & Hiking Time 1-2 Hrs)

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
In the morning, we will begin our drive to Arughat, a village on opposite sides of the Buri Gandaki River. Stopping for lunch along the way, we can see the changing landscape, terraced hillsides, and roadside towns as we make our way out of the Kathmandu Valley to the northwest. As we near Arughat, we get our first views of Manaslu and the Himalayas. Arughat Bazaar is large and prosperous, with shops selling cloth, food and hardware. From Arughat Bazaar where the road ends, we begin our hike entering a remote region that can only be accessed on foot or by helicopter.

Day 4: Trek from Liding to Khola Besi (Elevation: 3,150 feet / 960 meters; Hiking time: 6-7 hours)

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
We follow the river to Machha Khola. Machha Khola is a village named for the small stream below, with good fishing. The trail then begins to have more short and steep ascents and descents, and from Macha Kola to Kholabesi, we mostly follow along the river, finally climbing about 30 minutes up to camp.

Day 5: Trek from Kholabesi to Jagat (Elevation: 4,626 feet / 1410 meters; Hiking time: 7 hours)

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
We start our day with some short ups and downs, and head upstream to the tiny village of Khola Bensi and the hot springs coming from the rocks give this town its name, Tatopani which means hot water in Nepali language. We then climb a stone staircase over a ridge to Doban, which lies at the confluence of two rivers, one flowing from the east and the other from the west. Our campsite is still further along in a spacious flat field near to the Budhi Gandaki river. From Jagat we enter the Manaslu Conservation Area.

Day 6: Trek from Jagat to Deng (1860meters)

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
We trek through terraced hillside on an undulating trail. We cross the river on a suspension bridge at Nagjet and recross to climb to Nyak. From here the trek continues to the Gurung village of Deng (1860m), a superb viewpoint for the peaks of the Shringi Himal to the north east.

Day 7: Trek from Deng to Namrung

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
Descending to the river we cross to the east bank before continuing north. We traverse a very dramatic section of the gorge as the river turns towards the west and we reach the Bhuddist village of Ghap (2040m). Crossing now to the south bank, we continue to Namrung (2630m)

Day 8: Trek from Namrung to Lho (Elevation: 10,430 ft/3,180m; Hiking Time: 4 hrs)

From Namrung, we again enter the Buddhism influenced region. Climbing steadily we enter the alpine zone and get our first views of Manaslu North. Climb through the forest to Lihi. Enjoy the spectacular rise of the Ganesh Himal. Descend to Lho. Another steep climb takes us to our today's campsite on a ridge.

From Namrung, we again enter the Buddhism influenced region. Climbing steadily we enter the alpine zone and get our first views of Manaslu North. Climb through the forest to Lihi. Enjoy the spectacular rise of the Ganesh Himal. Descend to Lho. Another steep climb takes us to our today's campsite on a ridge.

Day 9: Trek from Lho to Samagaon (Elevation: 11,578 ft/3,530m; Hiking Time: 5-6 hrs)

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
Today we walk down the shady fir forest surrounded by the snowy peaks of Kutang Himal to the north east and Manaslu to the south west. A short climb to a plateau and we pass the village of Shala before reaching Sama Gaon (3520m) which has a Gompa with impressive views of Manaslu. Huge mountains surround us, Himal Chuli and Peak 29 (Ngadi Chuli) to the left, Manaslu and large glaciers straight ahead, other snow summits to the right, at the far end of the valley we have just come from stands Ganesh Himal. At the far end of the village, overlooking the valley stands the well-known monastery of Sama. Sama Gaon is a village inhabited mainly by the Tibetans and lies at the foot of Manaslu.

Day 10: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo (Elevation: 12,660 ft/3,860m; Hiking Time: 4-5 hours)

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
Descend to the Budi Gandaki, that has turned north, and follow it to a bridge over a side stream. The trail to the left leads to the Manaslu Base camp. The Larkya la Trail passes several mani walls as the valley begins to widen. It is an easy trail on a shelf above the river passing the juniper and birch forests of Kermo Kharka. We drop off the shelf, cross the Budhi Gandaki on a wooden bridge and climb steeply onto a promontory between two forks of the river. At the top is a stone arch, followed later by a white kani at the entrance to Samdo: a village of clustered houses nestled behind a ridge. An afternoon walk to a viewpoint on the Pana Danda (on a pass to Tibet); or better, towards Samdo Peak to the northeast will offer the finest views of Manaslu

Day 12: Trek from Samdo to Dharamsala/Larkya B. C. [4460m/14, 628 ft]: 4 - 5 hours

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
We continue our walk down the edge, cross the wooden bridge over Budi Gandaki and begin walking upward. Cross two streams and witness the Larkya Glacier. Go around the valley of the Salka Khola and climb up again and come to the stone guest house (4450 m) which is a kind of shelter called Dharmshala, also known as Larkya Phedi. We camp here today and have a rest to prepare for tomorrow's crossing of the famous and most awaited Larkya Pass.

Day 13: Trek from Dharamsala - Larkya la [5160m/16, 924 ft] - Bimthang [3720m/12, 201 ft]: 8 - 9 hours

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
After an early start, we soon walk across the moraines of the glacier, making a gradual ascent which becomes steeper only in the last section to the pass. From the pass, there are outstanding views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and the huge Annapurna II. Savor the spectacular views from the top of the pass. It is a longer day then usual to Bimthang, but to walk into these low pastures with the evening mist coming in and Manaslu.

Day 14: Trek from Bimthang to Tilije [2300m/7544ft]; Hiking Time: 5-6 hours)

Stop At: Mount Manaslu, Gorkha 44600 Nepal
We will descend a great height today. Initially, from the valley of Burdin Khola, through rhododendron forests, to Karche, the highest cultivating place in the valley. Then we descend to the village of Gho. While staying on the north bank of the river, we trek into Tilje.

Day 15: Trek from Tilije to Tal [1700m/5576 ft]: Hiking Time: 5-6 hours)

The remainder of our trek follows trails used on the first few days of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. We descend to the Marsyandi River and cross the suspension bridge. Climb up and away from the river and hike through a broad, flat valley to the village of Tal (1,675m), situated at the foot of a large waterfall.

Day 16: Trek from Tal to Syange [1080m/3542 ft]: Hiking Time: 4 hours)

The trail continues on to Chyamje. From Chyamje, trekking up and down along the river, we reach Jagat. A steep trail descends from Jagat through the Marshyangdi valley. Cross Marshyangdi River at Syange where our trek ends.
