Amazing experience!
Apr 2019 • Solo
I had an amazing, memorable, and fantastic experience! Our guide was wonderful- we felt safe all the way up and down, he was knowledgeable and was telling us stories along the way, and anything we needed he was able to provide. The trek and experience to Base Camp is just once in a lifetime! I’d recommend it anyone with adventurous spirit! And staying overnight at EBC is totally worth it! Would go again with Icicles! Thank you!

Thank you for the time you took to write this lovely review! We are glad that your experience with our team was fantastic - this is always our objective. You spotted perceptively so many of the nuances of the place, the charm and beauty of the area, the skilled guides for walks that it is equally hard for us to respond...except to give you a true and heartfelt thank you in return. Do come back to Nepal, a small country but packed with adventure, beauty and opportunity to explore and discover.... With all our best wishes, Icicles Adventure Treks Team

Phenomenal trek!! Perfectly planned by the Icicles team.

While this is a challenging trek, it's paced in a way the average person should be able to handle it.

The views are second to none!!

Extremely Good Overall Experience
May 2019 • Friends
The 16 Day EBC trek that went through Gokyo was an experience that I cannot compliment icicles for enough. The professional nature and clear experience of our guides (Lok and Ram) was a huge factor in making our trip so memorable. At every tea house along the way we were looked after by them and felt extremely comfortable trekking in high altitudes. Consistent monitoring of members of the group alongside clear instructions for each day ahead meant that there was never any uncertainty. Honestly, the trip of a lifetime.

Icicles looked after us extremely well with the hotel and transfers in Kathmandu - no issues whatsoever.

Everest Base Camp trek
Apr 2019 • Friends
This trek was a trip of a lifetime. The views of the mountains and rivers were magnificent. The trekking was demanding and occasionally hazardous - there were lots of narrow paths, steep drop offs and tripping hazards but the poles helped considerably, especially on the downhills. The paths were somewhat crowded with trekkers, porters, yaks, cows, donkeys and horses all going about their daily routine. The guide was both knowledgeable and accommodating - he kept us on a sufficient pace. The contributions of the porters were outstanding - they trotted ahead of us with large loads and nimble steps. The accommodations and food were every bit as good as could be expected, given the remote locations of the villages and Base Camp. Overall the administration and management of all aspects of the trek were very well planned. Would I go again? Perhaps not. Will I tell and encourage my friends? Absolutely!

Hi Extraordinary528864, Thank you for your extraordinary review :) . Appreciate it a lot. Of course most mountain trails are narrow, one has to be careful with every step, that's why you need a guide to guide you and take care of you. The very famous trekking trails are crowded as everyone want to go there. We suggest trekkers to go to other trails where less trekkers trek, the beauty there is different but definitely magnificent. The infrastructure and facilities can be different but the nature and culture of those place also satisfies you every way. We try our best to provide best experience to our clients to make the trip memorable throughout their life, I think we were successful with you too as always; your review speaks it. Thank you for encouraging all potential trekkers. Thank you again for your review. Icicles Adventure Team

Icicles EBC trek, simply the best!
Apr 2019 • Family
After many years pondering to do it My 25 year old son and I finally decided to take the plunge and book the EBC trek with Icicles. From the very start we were treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. Upon arrival Harry and Indira made sure our every need was taken care of. When the trek began we net our guide Lok whose attention to detail, knowledge and caring nature was second to none. Then there was our Porter Ram who took great care with our belongings as well as assisting us whenever the need arose. The trek was absolutely amazing and the memories will stay with us for a life time. Lok ensured we were appropriately acclimatised as we made our way to EBC and was also very pro active about our health and any changes the may occur. Lok was the reason our trip was so memorable and we truly could not articulate our heart felt thanks to the level he deserved. If you are thinking of doing this trip please use Icicles and ask to have Lok as your guide and Ram as your porter (or assistant guide). I would book again with thus company in a heartbeat. Use icicles! You will not regret your decision!

Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes - amazing
Apr 2019 • Friends
We have just got back from this trek (April 2019) and it was fantastic! We were collected from the airport by our guide Ram, the following day we found out we needed crampons and Ram came with us to help us find the right ones (on his day off!!). Hari and Indira met with us and talked us through the itinerary before we left giving opportunity for any questions. The trek itself was breathtaking, hard work but well worth it. My friend needed to be heli evacuated off the mountain, this was sorted completely by Icicles and a room was available for her in Kathmandu the rest of the trek time. We had issues with our flights and again Hari ensured there was a room for us for as long as we needed. The porters were well looked after and not overloaded, cannot say enough about Ram our guide, who ensured we were all okay all of the time...he was amazing!!!
I would like to return to do the Annapurna trek and would not consider any other company to go with, Icicles are professional, friendly and give a very personalised service. They provide great value for money and I would highly recommend them, I look forward to returning!

World Class Experience

If you are looking for a friendly, trustworthy, good value trekking company for your trip to the Himalayas, then look no further than Icicles Adventures.

When I started my search for a trekking company to help with my son and I’s ‘once in a lifetime’ trip to EBC, I was shocked at how many there were! I contacted a couple and immediately got a good feeling from Icicles. They were prompt with their responses and offered a quality itinerary. This included all airport transfers which was great after a tiring journey. It also included a thorough preparation meeting with Hari and Indira in their Kathmandu office the day before the trek.

The real star for us was our Icicles guide Shiva Shrestha with who we established an immediate rapport and who made our trek a real joy. Shiva had great experience and knowledge of the area. He also seemed to know everyone! We always had good places to stay and his attentiveness to our wellbeing and acclimatisation meant that we were able to achieve all our aspirations from the trek. Perhaps most telling was the many comments we received from other trekkers about how lucky we were to have such a great guide!

I really cannot speak highly enough of this company. We were made to feel part of their family and would not hesitate in using them again.

Excellent holiday
Mar 2019 • Family
From beginning to end our trek with Icicles was a great experience. We contacted Icicles on line and they were very helpful and responsive, in particular Hari and Indira. They also provided a very helpful list of tips when preparing for the trek which was invaluable. On arrival in Kathmandu they met us at the airport and took us to their hotel which was very comfortable and friendly (especially welcome on our return from EBC!). They organised our flights to and from Lukla including airport transfers and even rebooked for us when, at the first attempt, Lukla was closed due to weather (quite common). On the trek, our guide Prakesh and porter Nobbin were superb - Prakesh in particular was very knowledgeable, fun and friendly. He genuinely seems to enjoy his job which makes for a very positive customer experience. The overall trek is quite hard but Icicles made it an amazing (and very safe) experience and even took us out for dinner on our return to Kathmandu. There are a lot of tour companies offering these treks but I would not hesitate in recommending Icicles to anyone considering one. I would definitely use them again (and probably will as there are many more treks to do in addition to EBC).

Fantastic Trek
Mar 2019 • Family
We did an Everest Base Camp Express Trek. Our guide, Prakesh (pronounced Brokas), was fun and friendly but also incredibly professional and responsible when necessary. I'd highly recommend him - ask for him by name if you can! He ensured we were safe, happy and well-fed throughout the trek, and also organised our super reliable porter, Nobin. The excellent organisation of the trek should be accredited to Hari and Indira, who responded to all our questions and requests very promptly and efficiently. They went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and comfortable in Kathmandu Suite Home; Hari personally picked us up from the airport and shared our first meal in Kathmandu, and Indira treated us to a local meal on our last night in Kathmandu.
Once you step out of Kathmandu airport, Hari and his team handle all the details. They truly made this trip as enjoyable as possible.

Amazing!! From arranging the trek with Indira and Hari, to being picked up at the airport and staying at Kathmandu Suite Home hotel in Thamel, Icicles made everything so easy.
Our guide, Lok was fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable, and he looked after us very well for 13 days on the trek. We completed the trek early December. The temperature was cool, but the weather was clear, and the trail was not busy. I will be returning to Nepal and will definitely be using Icicles again, and I would not hesitate recommending Icicles to anyone who wants to experience a once in a lifetime trek.
