About the operator

- 886jannies0 contributionsAnnapurna Base Camp Trek with Poonhill was a fantastic TripWe just finished the Annapurna Base Camp Trek in April, which included the Poonhill that we had requested. The ABC Trek was a challenging trip for us. Even if there are a lot of highs and lows, everything is ultimately beneficial. We had the good fortune to be present for the sunrise and the magnificent Rhodondren forest blooming at Poonhill. After Poonhill, our parents part ways and we go different paths. As our parents head back to Pokhara, we get the good fortune to see the breathtaking mountains at ABC. Aneel Mahat was our leader, and Rames helped us out. They were the best at what they did and had a fantastic personality.Written 5 May 2024
- 115petyag0 contributionsAn amazing tour in NepalWe just finished the 8 days tour of Nepal with my family. Such an amazing experience! Our tour guide Machhindra did amazing job sharing his beautiful country with us and made sure our two boys would have a lot of fun too! The tour around Kathmandu was very nice. The boys really enjoyed the safari Jeep and the safari boat in Chitwan. Pokara was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed a stunning sunrise watching the Annapurna circuit. Nagarkot was breathtaking and we were very lucky to be able to see mountain Everest in the morning. I highly recommend Oriental Journeys!Written 29 December 2021
- Proteagya0 contributionsWild & exciting Baridya National ParkAfter hearing about the man-eating Tigers of Bardiya, every rustle in the jungle and every cracking of a twig, alerted my senses. I can honestly say, it felt a bit eerie and unnerving that it was so quiet during this time of year, with limited vehicular activity and less visitors. Every time I went on a Safari, I felt like I was being watched ! It was a thrilling experience and so very wild ! The freshness of the jungle and the stillness and quiet was pure euphoria to my senses !Written 30 October 2021
- katunje0 contributionsReally a lifetime ExperienceSherpa settlements, and soaring mountains was no doubt an amazing experience. Flying to Lukla was a thrilling experience. The walk was tough but rewarding every day. I dreamed to be at the Base of Mt. Everest. My suggestion to local Management committee is to provide good lodging facility to porters. I feel I touched the sky at Kalapatthar. Thanks to the helpful guide Layu for his friendly manner and all the support all the time. Thanks to the Operator Oriental Journeys for fantastic management.Written 12 March 2020
- viktor_barricklow0 contributionsAMAZING Trek! The Oriental Journeys ABC Trek was absolutely incredible and one of the best things I've ever done! Aneel was an incredible guide and made sure that I both stayed safe and had an amazing time. Machhindra and Radhika were also fantastic and helped me out with everything from getting a SIM card to booking additional activities outside of the trek. We were incredibly lucky with the trek and got to see some of the most beautiful views ever. Thanks Oriental Journeys for an amazing trip!Written 26 February 2020
- mukeshbne0 contributionsEBC, Chola Pass & Gokyo RiWe hiked to EBC and returned via Chola Pass. This combined circuit took us 3 additional days, but we covered two of the most popular trails in Sagarmattha National Park. We climbed to Khumjung Village, Kalapatthar, Nangkartshang and Gokyo Ri, from where we had unforgettable views. Our team comprised of 10 college mates, now in 50s. It was a bit challenging to remain above 4000m for more than 10 days, but we were well prepared and our outfitter Snow Leopard Trek (P) Ltd made it happen smoothly. Our guide Man Bahadur made our trip very comfortable and we enjoyed his company and services. Highly recommend.Written 19 January 2020
- PBmarthus0 contributionsLifetime experience of Everest base camp and KalapattharTrekking to Everest Base Camp & Kala Patthar is an incredible experience! Aneel was a great guide, who went above and beyond to ensure that our team was enjoying the trip. The trip is very well organised and the choice of tea houses is good. When we were briefed about our trek, Machhindra the owner of Oriental Journeys- our tour company, had given us the options to alter the itinerary slightly. So we did while doing Kala Patthar in the afternoon of EBC instead of the very early wake up. The mountain views were mindblowing, amazing and superb. The meal was very good. Overall it was a very positive experience and one that I would, and definitely will recommend!Written 18 November 2019
- JessamineDostie0 contributionsOriental Journeys is a best travel companionA thrilling journeys of Annapurna circuit was fantastic. People, mountain views, high passes are the best part of our trek. Our guide was very caring, friendly and we'll informed about the situations. We had a wonderful time throughout the trek with the amzaing guide and porter. They are very professional. Some hotels were over cowded but it was not the mistake of Oriental Journeys. They tried to accommodate us in the best possible way. The Thorong La pass was the best part of our trek however the downhill section was more thriling. We enjoyed all tastes of the jouney. We would like to visit Nepal again may be next year.Written 16 November 2019

- Kerrylee M0 contributionsGlimpse of Nepal and Memorable NepalOriental Journeys made both our tours full of great memories. We loved learning about and experiencing the food, the people we met and new friends we made, the scenery, the wildlife, the opportunity to hike, the heritage sites, the festivals. Machindra made it all interesting and fun. I would not hesitate to recommend this family business for either a standard or customised tour - they will do their very best to meet your travel needs.Written 11 October 2019

- ajslater0 contributionsGreat and friendly tour of NepalI did an 8 day tour of Nepal going to Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara. Machindra does the guiding and his wife and runs the business as director. The service was great, the accommodations were perfect and Machindra noted that a cool festival was happening during our tour and altered our plans to go see it. - Iluvia1230 contributionsWonderful place with oriental journeysI enjoyed oriental Journeys’ “Kathmandu and Pokhara exploration tour” very much. “It was a very great time in Nepal! The tour was great and we enjoyed it very! Perfect organized from the start to the end! Got a chance to explore UNESCO listed heritage sites of Kathmandu, enjoy boating in Pokhara in Phewa Lake. Besides this, we also visited Chitwan after Machhindra’s recommendation. Chitwan is the best safari destination for wildlife lover. I got a chance to see Tharu village along with their cultural performance in Chitwan. The whole day of the tour was enjoyable. Machhindra was an excellent guide. His service was great. When you want a really good guide than ask for Machhindra! We always feel safe and comfortable. He knows so much about the country, culture, history and the people! We have a great time with him! Thank you for all!”Written 8 August 2019

Feb 2019 • Friends
Annapurna Base Camp trek was a moderately difficult hiking trek. There were 14 in the group and one guide. We were concerned about safety as one lady got leg cramps but our guide was very professional. Our tour company had managed first aid kids for us. Traveling in group is somehow difficult as it was hard to maintain the same pace for all. After ABC trek we had plann to visit Bardiya National Park for wildlife safari. We enjoyed it very much. It was fantastic. We were luchk to track the Roayl Bengal Tiger. We highly recommend Oriental Journeys for other traveller. Surely, we will travel with them again in future.
