Night Street Food Tour of Bangkok's Chinatown
From US$45.47
Overview
Bangkok’s Chinatown is home to some of the city’s most distinctive foods, but finding the best places to eat can be overwhelming for first time visitors. Immerse yourself in the Chinatown street food scene on a 3.5-hour walking tour with a local food expert, and sample everything from Thai-Chinese dim sum to pepper soup and bitter tea. This 3.5-hour Chinatown food tour includes bottled water and 12 tastings for a hearty dinner.
What to Expect
Make your way to the Hua Lamphong MRT station, where you’ll meet a local guide for a 6pm departure. Get an introduction to Chinatown cuisine as you walk into the bustling neighborhood, which was founded by Chinese merchants in the late 18th century.
You’ll visit a series of 12 street food stalls to taste some Chinatown specialties, exploring the way that local cooks blend Thai and Chinese flavors to create the neighborhood's characteristic cuisine. The menu will include some small-bites dim sum, peppery soup with crispy pork, seafood prepared with a Thai “killer sauce”, and bitter tea, which many locals drink for it’s healthful properties. Your guide will share stories about Chinatown history and culture along the way, and you’ll stop by some Chinatown landmarks, including Wat Tri Mitr, the Temple of the Golden Buddha.
At the end of the 3.5-hour walking tour, walk back to the Hua Lamphong MRT station, where the evening concludes.

Highlight of my holiday

This very indulgent and thorough tour was a highlight of my 10-day stay in Bangkok. Lily has excellent English skills -- and a wicked sense of humour! She was also thoughtful enough to remember I can't eat hot chilies and ensured that my dishes didn't...More

Too many soups

All in all, pretty good. Would have rated it 3.5 if I could. The positives: Our guide worked hard to show us a good time and to keep our group of 12 together. A few of the stops offered up some tasty and authentic dishes....More

I would recommend this to anyone!

I have been to Bangkok so many times and can't believe I haven't done this before. I loved walking down the backstreets of Chinatown and sitting down to eat at stalls I would never have come across if I was alone. There was so much...More

Greetings, tell your tour guide of the various diets and they possibly can accommodate all. However, just observing all the foods and restaurants will be great too, if don’t eat anything. Enjoy! 😎🍽
