    Stop: 4 hours
The tour starts next to Siam Pier at 10:30am where you'll greet your guide and hop on board one of the klong boats for an exciting ride down along the canals. Along the way, you'll get an idea of life next to the waterways and hear stories of Bangkok from your guide.  After you've disembarked, it's right down to business with a bowl of old-style Hokkien noodles from a joint that's been knocking them out for decades. Afterwards, your guide will lead you down through the old streets stopping en route to try the best banana fritters in town cooked up in a local home-style kitchen factory.  Dive into one of Bangkok's oldest markets which has been selling dishes to locals since 1899. Here, you'll guide will take you to the best spots where you'll delve into another dozen dishes like crispy catfish salads, fresh spring rolls with cured sausage and pickles, freshwater fish steamed curry topped with coconut cream and a dozen more mouth-watering dishes. It's not all feasting though. Between courses, your guide will lead you on a tour of the area where you can take in local life in this peaceful part of Bangkok. See the old wooden remnants of the city's oldest silent cinema, discover why this was once the entertainment district and learn about how and where Thai desserts are made.  Say goodbye to your fellow guests at the market. This was supposed to be an "introduction to the Bangkok food scene" tour after we relocated to Bangkok but instead became something we did after living in Thailand for a year. Either way, the purpose was well-served! Nutth was our guide, and as it turns out he helped create the very first Chef's Tour, in Bangkok. His tour includes stops at places he has been visiting since his childhood, and it is very clear that he has a personal passion for what he is doing. This is exactly the experience you are looking for if you are new to Bangkok and want to experience hidden gems of the city in one outing.

Of course we booked this Tour in order to discover new flavors as well as local specialities.
Our expectations were exceeded!
We had litteraly speaking flavors „explosions“ in our mouths.
Furthermore our Guide „Nam“ and his Assistent were just great. Absolutely nice, helpful, with interesting inputs during the whole tour!
Last but not least, the quantities served are far enough. Even without taken a breakfast bevor and even the great quality of the food we couldn t finish all dishes which is something we usually do not like to do except in this case. In fact, Nam is very involved to help the community in combination with his work. So the food we couldn t finish was offered to a 90 years old homeless woman. The smile on her face was priceless and gave us also a good feeling.
Great Tour! Really!

I had an amazing experience today, when I participated in this gastronomic and cultural tour of Bangkok. My guide was Natth (as in peanut.). His English was excellent. He took me through a series of vendors, many of which he has known since he was a boy. The food was delicious.

But first, we took a water ferry and then transferred to a municipal bus. There was some walking, which he kidded was designed to make me hungry. When the pre-tour instructions say skip breakfast, they are not kidding. There was so much food, that I just had to leave some on the plate. He assured me no one would be insulted if I didn't clean up everything.

Stand out dishes included:
*roast duck
*roast pork belly
*Pineapple curry
*Iced lemongrass drink--so scrumptious!
*Fresh Jackfruit
*Salad with fried rice, crispy tiny shrimp, julienned green beans, a sweet sausage and a few other ingredients. You start by squeezing lime over it and then combine all the ingredients. It was surprisingly good. And the fried rice was not greasy at all.

Nutth was a fantastic guide! He showed us around all of the non-touristy spots that he personally knows from his childhood. It was delicious and such a nice experience. We will for sure look around for other chef’s tour cities! Thank you

The tour began with a long-boat ride to the nearly tourist-free Nang Leong historic area where our tour guide, Chef Nutth, grew up. Stopping and snacking at various restaurants he enjoyed as a child, he introduced us to the difference between traditional and modern Thai cuisine. The tour proceeded to the market which, lucky for us was featuring a public Thai dance exhibition all day. The selection of foods, focused on home and street cuisines, varied greatly in flavor, spicing, and texture, eventually expanding to include the influence and examples of foods and spices from China, Laos, Vietnam, Burma, and Cambodia. The finale took us to see the magic of Thai desert-making followed by eating the evidence. Nutth answered hundreds of our questions during the tour and took great care of us.

oved this food tour. The guide, Chef Nutth, knew all about the food and showed us stops that we and other tourists would never have found on our own. (E.g., just outside the market, behind the scenes.) We had everything from traditional dishes, which can be hard to find anymore as well as childhood favorites, to some fascinating fusion (with Laos) dishes. We had colorful dishes with multiple textures and flavors that I didn’t find at restaurants or markets on my own. When I described these to Thai colleagues after, they said - oh, yes, that’s something we have with friends or guests at home. And he had a great system with Run (sp?), the assistant, who was right there helping to make sure we had any needed drinks, sanitizer, napkins, etc. and taking care of details so we could maximize time eating and learning about the local area. Thai food is delicious and they shared great history and tastes - and their love of it - in a wonderful few hours. Highly recommend this food tour!

What an outstanding experience on Bangkok’s food history, culture and food diversity! Perfect experience. We first feared this could be another tourist tour; but it actually was everything but the normal. Nat and his assistance gave us a marvellous insight into the local food variety, the different ingredients and the way of how to prepare the dishes. The numerous stops, small restaurants and booths and the short view “behind the curtain” was really special. We could probably have continued for another 4 hours, but are very much looking forward booking another tour wir Nat during our next visit to Bangkok.

We did the lunch tour and had a fantastic time!! You get picked up at an easy to find location in Bangkok, then you take a quick boat ride to visit a first clothes market. Then you take a local bus (so that you know how to do everything) to the food market. We tried a total of about 16 different dishes that we definitely would’ve never come across if we were by ourselves. All of the food was super delicious. Our kind and knowledgeable chef explained us all about the place and the food we were eating. You could tell that he was a known local foodie by the way he was greeted in the stores. We would highly recommend this tour for everyone, especially on your first days in Thailand, so you’re culinarily equipped :)

We did this tour as one of the first batches of tourists visiting after Covid border closures and felt super safe throughout the entire time. Your hands are pretty much sanitized constantly and everyone keeps on masks throughout most of the time.

I spent ages looking for a good food tour for my boyfriend's birthday (he's a real foodie, so this wasn't an easy task) and I ended up going with this tour after seeing the itinerary and positive reviews. We had our tour yesterday and I'm so glad that we picked this one!

Our tour started with a short boat ride down to the market and ended with us sampling some local fruits and desserts. Our guide, Nutth, was very knowledgeable and had an obvious passion for Thai food and it's prominent role in Thai culture, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We sampled a variety of authentic dishes from places we would never have discovered on our own. They were also able to accommodate my dietary requirements easily, which was a relief.

This was such a great tour and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an insight into authentic Thai cuisine (and, as other reviews have mentioned, make sure you arrive hungry!).

This was one of the best experiences of our whole holiday.

However, if you do not have time to revisit all the food vendors, we recommend to do the food tour at the end of your holiday, because you won't have such delicious food for the rest of your stay! ;)

Big props to our two guides who just did the best job of telling interesting things about the food and showing interest in their clients.

Thanks a lot. We will remember this tour for a long time.
