Great tour, excellent guide
Mar 2020
This private tour was excellent! We got a thorough history of the locality. The walking was pleasant and not difficult. There were a couple tricky spots and stairs that may be difficult for some travelers, but there are railings and our guide was ready to assist at any moment. Would definitely recommend. It was worth the extra for a private tour because we could choose how much time we spent at each location without worry. (We actually went in January 2020 but I forgot to leave a review)

Well worth paying extra for private tour
Fantastic day out made even better by having our excellent, friendly guide Puma to help us out and explain everything to us. Highlight was the trek through the forest and waterfalls with our guide from the Karen village, ending with strawberries and freshly made coffee. Plenty to see but still felt like a relaxed day away from the city. Incredible views from the Twin Pagodas too

Great tour of Doi Inthanon
Mar 2020
May, our driver and guide was great! He spoke fluent English and of course Thai. He provided a good crash course history of Chiang Mai, Doi Inthanon, and Thailand in general. Very interesting. He was very kind, wanting to take pictures for us, providing refreshments, explained each place we went to in the right amount of detail, and gladly stopped at 7eleven per our request on the drive there.

We stopped at the waterfall, the highest summit point, the two Pagodas for the previous king and queen, the local farmers market, and then after lunch we had a private guide to walk with us on the hike through the hiking tour in the forest. Our guide was a local to the area so he knew the whole area like the back of his hand. He spoke good English too! He was accommodating to my out of shape needs to break often too! This is where the private tour came in handy, we could go at the pace we wanted to and it was much more personalized. I was told it would be an easy hike downhill all the way, but it was a steep downhill which is actually tiring trying not to fall or slip the whole way. For people who regularly exercise, it should be a breeze. There is a short “coffee time” at the end of the hike where we drank freshly brewed coffee grown in the local farms. Coffee was great!

Overall, we both really enjoyed the whole tour and would highly recommend to anyone looking for some outdoor activity and a bit of history.

Best tour guide ever!
My god mother and I traveled from NY to Chiang Mai. We had T as a guide for the Chiang Rai temple tour and hiking tour in Don Inthanon. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our experience with T. He was very thorough in educating us on the culture of Thailand. He was very funny too!! Highlights from the trip are below:

1. T spoke fluent English
2. The vehicle was reliable, safe and clean
3. He had tissue and baby wipes for times when we stopped to use the rest room
4. He didn’t mind stopping when we had to go to the store
5. He had water in a cooler
6. Lunch was delicious!
7. T drove safely
8. We never felt rushed and he was super patient when we asked a million questions
9. He took photos of us the entire time and the photos were sent via email within minutes of dropping us off at our hotel
10. T is a kind soul

I would recommend both tours to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

Beautiful park
I booked through Pagoda Tours. The guide Puma met me at our Chiang Mai hotel, and it was a 1.5 hr comfortable ride to the park. We stopped at a lovely waterfall and the garden and shrines at the top of Doi Inthanon. The trek was an easy few km along a stream and through forest and fields. The weather is cooler than Chiang Mai, but I did not need a jacket (you might for an early morning hike). I was hoping to see some birds but early morning is really best for that. My trek guide Buk was from a local tribe, and his English and knowledge were excellent. Then Puma and I had a good lunch before the drive back. She was a lot of fun and I was very fond of her. I would do a full day with them on my next visit.

Best tour for Doi Inthanon! Do not miss it!
Feb 2020 • Couples
This tour was one of the best decisions we made in Chiang Mai! It’s worth it to pay a little more for the private tour because it was a lot more personalized and we could do things at our own pace. We had May as our tour guide for the day and he was absolutely fantastic! He was so thoughtful and made sure we were comfortable and well hydrated throughout the day. He provided us with a history of the sites we were seeing and offered to take photos of us in front of all of the landmarks. We had a fantastic lunch where May ensured our food came out fresh! The end of our day was a hike through Pha Dok Siew Natire Trail with our Karen guide, Book, who was also fantastic! He showed us strawberry and rice fields, waterfalls and more! We finished our hike with a wonderful cup of fresh ground coffee. Again, this was the highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai and you DON’T want to miss it!

This is a great tour. Our guide, T, was full of information about history, culture, and the people of the hill tribes. He made sure we were comfortable, hydrated, and satisfied with everything we did throughout the day and that we had plenty of pictures to remember the experience. Hope that you get T as your guide. Our trek guide, Yo, was also great. He took a lot of great pictures for us and told us about the area as we walked. The hike is mostly downhill but may be more difficult for small or elderly people. We didn't see much wildlife but did see some buffalo and a snake. The mountains are beautiful, though, and the waterfalls are amazing. The Pagodas are beautiful, and on a clear day, you will have a great view of the mountains. If you want a nice getaway from the city, this is a good choice. It is quiet with much cooler weather than the city. Lunch was nothing spectacular, but still tasty and one less thing to worry about as T ordered everything for us ahead of time.

Great tour, especially the jungle trek
Great trip all around. Comfortable, clean car, pleasant and informative guide Nui and a tasty lunch at mid day. The trip started at 8:30am and ended around 6:30pm back at the hotel. Two main points before lunch were visits to the highest mountain peak in Thailand in the Inthanon National Park and to the (surprisingly modern) Twin Pagodas not far away. In February our warm fleeces came in handy. The latter location provides a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding hilly area. The highlight of the trip however turned out to be a two-hour jungle trek after lunch. A local Karen guide took us on a breathtakingly beautiful hike through the jungle that included several waterfalls, mountain brooks, rice terraces, strawberry fields and even a small coffee plantation (you get to taste good local coffee at the end). The trek includes some not-too-difficult climbs and descents on a marked trail with bamboo railings and is relatively easy for young, fit people. It may not be the best choice for the elderly or guests with mobility problems. In rainy season the trail is most likely muddy and more slippery. My old sneakers fell apart on the way down so bring proper footwear. We did not encounter gibbons that inhabit the area but saw different birds and even several hidden snakes graciously pointed out by the guide. Thank you for that! Overall money well spent. The tour exceeded our expectations thanks to good organization, perfect timing and great guides.

A pleasant day

We enjoyed our day tour to Doi Inthanon yesterday. Our guides Puma and Book are very informative and friendly, and speak good English. The tour was exactly as described on TripAdvisor. The landscape is amazing. Lunch was very good. It seems to be a good value and we are very glad to have done it. Thank you for the great time!

Favorite Activity of the Trip, Definitely Recommend!
Jan 2020
Got picked up from our hotel by Sam, the tour guide. The drive duration really depends on where your hotel is. Sam answered many of our questions and was very personable! When we got to Doi Inthanon, he took us to the waterfalls. He also took a lot of pictures for us! I enjoyed that since my boyfriend doesn't like taking pictures. He then took us to another part of the mountain, where another tour guide from one of the tribes took us through the mountain. We learned many things about different trips, cultures, and just the nature of the mountain. The sights were definitely worth the price and the walking. Would not recommend for those who are not as athletic. They have railings and made trails for people, but it is still slippery and some of the parts are a little more active. We got to try strawberries and coffee. Both our tour guides answered many of our questions as we got to learn more about Chaing Mai. I would also recommend bringing a light jacket, as it gets a little chilly towards the top of the mountain.
The food they served us was authentic, and amazing!
There are also endless photo opportunities. It takes up majority of the day, so we spent the rest of the day having a spa day. This tour definitely a must!
