The 2 days we spent with Thailand Hilltribe Holidays were the highlights of our trip to Thailand. The owners were so accommodating as we were traveling with 4 kids under 4 and planned the most amazing trip for us. From visiting a local Hilltribe school, to eating incredible, homemade food, to staying overnight in a remote hilltribe village, their tours are unique, authentic, custom and off-the-beaten path.

Our favorite parts were riding in Pat's "Tuk Tuk" through the villages, hiking in the rice paddies, meeting the families that live in the Karen Hilltribe village and also spending the night there. We were the first to stay in their new homestay and if you want to experience staying overnight in a village but with a bit of luxury, I highly recommend this! Committed to sustainability, creating economic opportunities to the village people, educational opportunities for the children and spreading knowledge of the Hilltribe Tribes, Chiang Mai and Thailand in general, Thailand Hilltribe Holidays is highly recommended!

It was at the end of a one month stay and i really loved the entire experience! First we went to a village with 8 different tribes so good to see all the differences. Then a nice lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the river in the Jungle. We had a look at a couple of other villages from there and ended up at the very remote village right at the end of the road. They cooked me an awesome meal and we all sat around and enjoyed it. There were all sorts of chickens, chicks, piglets, birds, cows, water buffalo etc zipping about the place it was really cool. Bedroom was authentic thatch stilt hut with bed on floor. Iwatched them make honey from a beehive in the morning and enjoyed watching the villagers go about their way of life.. it was very relxing and great to see children just playing with hardly anything and happy as ( unlike our kids these days all on devices). Anan was the best host with fantastic knowledge and a passion for his people and village life. The entire trip was top notch and a must do - no tourists on this stay!! a good time to go is from May on as its rainy season and more things to do if you are keen like helping in the fields, hunting etc.

We booked this trip for my family that includes three boys, ages 12-17. Our guide was Anan and he was AMAZING. His English was very good and he answered my million questions. He did things with us that I was afraid we would not have time to do this trip, like Doi Suthep. He knew I am a firefighter in the US and he showed me one of the wildfire tool stands for the public to fight fires. That was so cool. He was GREAT with the kids and played sepak tawkraw with my youngest and that made his whole trip. The tribe was very kind and welcoming. The food was delicious. Sleeping arrangements were more comfortable than I thought they would be. And we enjoyed staying up late talking with them and playing with a mouse trap they made. The whole trip was very special and Anan feels like a friend now. My husband and I are already planning a trip back to Thailand in 18 months, and I know that Anan will have to be a part of that trip, too!
