An Awesome Way to Spend an Adventurous Day
This is a fabulous experience, and I took my sister from the UK to do it, as it was a 'bucket list' experience for her, but if you do the whole course, you need to be reasonably fit. The longer zip lines are more challenging to get to. The staff are superb and really look after you well during the whole experience. Safety for me was the first question and I need not have been concerned. The company attaches you to 2 zip lines and at no time did I feel worried about jumping off the platforms. Flying through the jungle over the tree tops is quite an experience and the scenery is incredible. One thing I should mention, as I have seen a couple of comments about it. 'King Kong' has an upper age limit of 65 but I booked with 'Go With Joe' and his insurance upper limit is age 80. I highly recommend this experience and again I have a special mention for the 2 guys who looked after us, they were superb, and very impressive on how they operate, they are super fit guys! Joe has his own vehicle and will pick you up at your hotel. He is a very friendly, likeable character, and a good person to guide you. On the way back, most of the tour guides will take you to a silver factory, and it's the usual tour operator tactic to get you to make a purchase. On this occasion I was more than happy to visit the place, as I was interested in buying some pieces for my daughter and was not disappointed with what was on display, or the prices. Usual haggling is required but we left very happy with our purchases. It's also very interesting to see the silver smiths working on creating the jewellery. All in all, a great day out and I have nothing negative to say about our day out.

          Joe is the best!
This experience was the best thing we did in Chiang Mai!! Highly recommend. Joe picked us up early in the morning and did not make us rush at all with the itinerary. Everyone at the elephant sanctuary was also very kind.

          Birding with Joe
Thanks to Joe for taking us up into Doi Inthanon for a birding trip. He provided both os us with binoculars which was obviously crucial. With the Merlin bird long app not really working in Thailand, Joe’s knowledge of birds in the region was key! We identified 20 birds on the tour. And he was gracious enough to add the temples at the top into the tour for us which were breathtaking. The actual tour consisted of 3 locations. One at the beginning of the road, which wasn’t much to look at but definitely gave good views for birds. The second was halfway up the mountain in slightly more jungle environment. And the 3rd was on the nature walk at the top of Doi Inthanon. Don’t expect to be hiking around Doi Inthanon as 2 of the spots are just off the road. But DO expect for Joe to help you find beautiful birds of the area.

          Must-do for Chiang Mai visitors
Our driver arrived early and met us inside the hotel lobby. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke very good English. The sanctuary that we were taken to by all appearances seemed in the best interest of the animals. We were told that they don’t allow visitors to see the elephants past 2 pm and the vast majority of their time is spent free-roaming and grazing and doing what the elephant wants to do. As visitors, we were instructed to change into the attire of the trainers as not to startle the elephants with anything abnormal. We were passed on to a guide who led us through the process of cutting sugarcane for feeding, creating a “vitamin ball” to aid in the elephants’ digestion, and making a natural soap that we would use to help bathe the elephants later. As an added bonus, our guide doubled as a photographer, making sure the excursion was well-documented on our phones. Lunch was above-average Thai fare during which we were given the opportunity to buy one of our photos for 200THB that had already been framed. Normally I would feel scummy about this kind of practice but our driver was the one who told us with no added pressure. The money that was given went straight into the donation box for the upkeep of the sanctuary. Everything that we were shown pointed to the health and happiness of the animals so we were happy to pay. Lee, our guide, was excellent as well. If I had one criticism of the tour, it would be that by the time we got to Buatong, it felt a bit like an afterthought. After taking 45 minutes to get there, we were only given an hour, about the amount of time it would take to drive back to the hotel. However, it’s still a very beautiful park and worth seeing. We still had enough time to get down to the 3rd and 4th waterfalls and slowly make our way to the top. All in all, the day was an unforgettable experience that I’d recommend to anyone visiting the area and wants to play a small part in taking care of Thailand’s most revered animal.

Elephant sanctuary and Sticky waterfall trip in Chiang Mai
My wife and I enjoyed a great visit to an elephant sanctuary that I was hesitant to go but thrilled that I went. Joe picked us up early waiting for us. He was courteous and professional, will search him out when friends and family join us soon next time ! It was a cheaper package to visit E Sanctuary and Sticky Waterfall together with Joe and he was very accommodating and timely with his driving and courteousness. Found a nice gift at the Silk Factory on the way back to hotel. Great last day in Chiang Mai, au revoir until next time…

          One for the proper birders
A very professional and enthusiastic guide. Joe picked us up early morning and took us to the Doi Inthanon national park. Stopping enroute at some birding spots. Not the most glamorous of sites, but Joe knew where to find the birds. Numerous sightings were spotted plus some endemic species also. Visited the summit, take a coat it gets cold early morning, then back for a fine lunch at a local restaurant. If you like birding choose GoWithJo.

Wonderful mix of activities and a real ethical elephant sanctuary!
Truly one of the best experiences I had in Thailand. First off, the sanctuary itself is amazing - it's actually ethical and there is no elephant riding or mistreatment of the animals. The driver is also awesome and will be there with you the entire time. The sticky falls is also something that's worth doing while you're in the area and getting to wrap up the elephant sanctuary and sticky falls in the same excursion is amazing.

Go with Joe, you'll be glad you did
Had a wonderful morning birding with Joe along the road up Doi Inthanon. He is very knowledgeable about the best locations (and times) for finding birds and has a keen eye for spotting them. He was very accommodating and understanding, as my travel partner was unable to fully participate as hoped but content to rest in the car at most stops.

          Chiang Mai Day Trip
Good tour, interactive with the elephants. Appeared that the elephants were being well cared for in this sanctuary. We were sceptical about being able to be close to them and feed them, but they were not tied up, and were free to walk around and were on a very large acreage/farm. Very well kept sanctuary. Food was great and they had everything supplied and ready for the experience.

          A crafters dream experience!
This workshop was a unique hands on educational experience. Everyone at Silk Village - from tour guide, weavers and my personal teacher - was gracious and professional. I love to crochet and I have a whole new appreciation for the silk trade and other textile designers. I’m very proud of the table runner I was able to make … the delicious Thai lunch and friendly staff was a bonus.

          Wonderful day seeing birds!
Wonderful day with Joe! It was well organized and full, but not rushed. We saw lots of birds in 4 locations, including at a large waterfall, with ample time to hear, see, and enjoy. We had sunrise at breakfast, local coffee on the mountain, and a delicious khao soi lunch before heading back to Chiang Mai. Joe is very easy to talk with , quite knowledgeable and his English is great. It was truly a lovely low-key beautiful day for all 4 of us.

Just a fantastic Guide and Tour.
Joe is the most amazing guide. He is so knowledgeable and committed. Three days in his company went by very quickly. He tailored the tour to meet our interests. We had enough time with him to support us when needed and enough time to look around on our own. We can't recommend Joe and his company Go With Joe highly enough and there is no doubt we will book tours with him again in future. The itinerary was excellent and covered a lot in three days - everything that we wanted to see and more.

perfect, tweak as needed, private tour
Ming made this trip for 2 ladies from the USA (that had no idea for sure what to expect as the webpage was a tad contradictory) …so let us reassure you! it won’t get cancelled for too few participants as it’s truly private, there’s a lot more offerings than what’s in the main description, but you can pick & choose what you want to experience when you meet day by day. Ming was amazing at answering all the questions about absolutely everything and even stopped twice to show us plants up close we had questions about! He told us what we needed to know & then let us roam at each site, always had the car cooled off for our return & water for us each day, and picked excellent local lunch spots for us! This was our favorite tour after weeks in Thailand and the best bang for the buck as well (the hotel they chose for us was premium & fantastically located). Don’t tell anyone but after the white temple on our last day he let us skip everything else and drove us to go zip lining instead, before returning to Chiang Mai… it was AWESOME! The ability to tweak along the way made this trip for us (just don’t pass up the boat trip or black house museum!) and by the way Chiang Rai’s night market is the best in Thailand! We both would happily sign up for anything by Go with Joe, but especially if we knew Ming was our guide! Thanks for everything Ming!!
