    Old Quarter
Stop: 3 hours - Admission included
Located in the middle of Ha Noi, a rapidly developing city where changes take place every hour, Ha Noi Old Quarter with its old-styled narrow streets full of antique brick houses seems to nostalgically resist the flow of time while still actively trying to adapt to the dynamic atmosphere of the modern city. Once a bustling area where merchants and artisans gathered to sell their products, Ha Noi Old Quarter consists of many small, meandering streets, each bears the name of the goods that was specifically traded there such as Hang Bac (Silver Product), Hang Ma (Paper Product), Hang Go (Wood Product), just to name a few. Visiting this unique historical vestige comfortably lying around Hoan Kiem Lake, tourists get lost in a totally different world from the rest of the city and have the chance to explore the modest but energetic life of the local a hundred years ago, where there were no high-rise buildings, too much traffic or fancy stores; things will get a little bit smaller, as visitors may have used to those skyscrapers and shopping centers in other parts of the city, but not at all less lively and vigorous.

Phoenix had a good line up food planned and explained what everything was. She offered to take each of us back to our hotel, showed us around Hanoi city center, and everyone had fun conversations with her. Highly recommend doing this!

We booked the streetfood group tour with crossing vietnam for just 18 USD.
Our guide Mr. Lucas (Luong Me) made the evening one of the best we had in Vietnam.
He explained the vietnamese food traditions, showed Hanoi's sights along the way and even helped us to buy the best vietnamese coffee.
The food was amazing - places which you would never find alone as a tourist. He even made the vegetarian option completely splendid!!
This tour is highly recommend!!
Have fun and enjoy the food!

This tour is well worth it if you’re interested in seeing new things and trying new foods in Hanoi. Bun Cha was excellent, so much so that we returned the following day on our own for lunch.
Our English speaking guide took us into places we had walked past previously or never dared - especially the dimly lit coffee room for our 1st Egg Coffee. What a delight!
If you’re researching walking food tours in Hanoi, this one is well worth it.

We decided by a chance to have the guided walking tour, an activity we usually don’t do. It was a success. Our guide, Dan, was excellent. He provided a lot of background infos, answered our ad hoc question and took us to places for a food tasting (a lot !) which we wouldn’t ever find. The “boon cha” in a small restaurant upstairs was fantastic.

I usually don't use tour companies for my travels and prefer to organise things myself, but I wanted to do a street food tour in Hanoi and chose this company. I ended up booking the Lan ha day tour and a transport to Trang An with them too! Alice was so helpful and friendly. She kindly answered all my questions on wassap during my whole stay. Everything was easy and well organised and they offer really good prices for quality tour. I highly recommand the street food tour (our guide Tom was great!), as well as the Lan Ha Bay tour and anything else you need to do during your travels, they are really good! Thank you Alice and Tom!

Nick knows his deal! He took us to all the amazing food places and I never had to worry being vegetarian because he took care of it all. Without him, we would never have figured out the nooks and precious places. It included savory dishes, bun ça, banh mi, street beer, and ofcourse the most amazing original egg coffee! If you want an amazing original food experience Nick is the go to guy

Our tour was a group of four plus our tour guide Nick. We sampled lots of food around the old quarter, from places which we wouldn't have found on our own - bun cha, bahn mi, spring rolls, doughnuts, desserts, egg coffee, beer and more...we were very full by the end of the tour. Nick was very friendly and knowledgeable. He also took into account any dietary requirements. He gave us lots of insights into the Vietnamese culture. Very enjoyable tour and a good way to see the old quarter if you have limited time in Hanoi.

Early evening walk with Son, great guide, friendly knowledgeable and let us eat some great food.
Loved the home made beer and just having a chit chat in the rain on Friday evening.
Loved noodles, desserts and egg coffee, hopefully I sleep tonight.

Thanks Son and all the best.

Had the best evening, there was 4 of us in our tour. We were taken to restaurants we would have normally just walked past but the food was just amazing and it gave us the confidence to try other places throughout our stay, finished the tour with the famous “egg coffee” which was the best coffee I’ve ever had, also met 2 lovely people, highly recommend this tour, it started raining on the tour and our tour guide went and bought us all plastic macs, she was brilliant very informative and so friendly. Having just arrived in Hanoi we booked this only three hours in advance through TripAdvisor and it worked a treat. We confused Alex, the guide, by giving him the wrong hotel address, but he arrived in good humour. We then collected five others from two hotels nearby. First stop was a private house which provided sticky rice with different bean mixes, very tasty. Alex gave us a great insight into local people's eating customs and traditions. Next was a Banh Mi, a Vietamese baguette, really yum. Then a local Pho, followed by a selection of fried spring rolls and other small appetizers and the (best) fresh spring rolls, with secret ingredient dips. All these foods were in different places that you would probably never even think about going in to! Last was the highlight of the Hanoi egg coffee in Cafe Dinh - superb! What a place, and Alex gave us the history of it all along with the technique of making and drinking the coffee. All food and drink (except for some beers) was included in the price of the walk. And Alex was brilliant! Thank you!
