Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We weren’t able to get tickets for Lotus Water Theater when we were in town and heard this was a comparable show. The in-person purchasing lines were always very long and our child really wanted to go. Regular tickets cost probably 100,000 (standard) -150,000VND (VIP seats) ($4-$6usd) for lotus and here it ranged 100,000-200,000 VND ($4-$8usd). Online there were no more regular prices available (usually $8 for VIP seats) so we paid a premium ($18USD) for skip the line VIP seats. It was easy to skip the line and retrieve our entry tickets from one of the workers. It was expensive for Vietnamese prices but cheap for US and a one time activity. We were seated in row C and had a great view of the stage, and the ushers provided a booster cushion for my child. Many people kept wanting a better view and would switch to closer seats and the staff was not strict about it. When the people in front of us moved forward to the front row, I was able to get my child up one row (row B) and they enjoyed the view even more. The show is entirely spoken and sung in Vietnamese so if you don’t understand the language, they have audio you can rent. My child and I could understand it and what they couldn’t, I translated but the dialect is Northern which is harder for me as a southern dialect to understand too. Overall worth checking out if you are in the old quarter and buy tickets online in advance if you can!

Entertaining and enjoyable. Had a good laugh watching the various skits of the show and enjoyed the mastery of the musicians on their traditional instruments and singing. Pretty seamless to pick up pre-bought tickets although it is of course cheaper to queue up to buy on-site. The show seems to be fully booked all the time, so be prepared for crowds. Purchased the VIP seats but we were 5 rows in. Would recommend nonetheless.

We were looking for Cultural/traditional experience of the Vietnam people. The water puppet show provided us with a glimpse of their traditional theater and music, musical instruments. The show is an hour long , there is no narration to the story, although you can buy an audio set( We chose not to and didn’t regret that choice). They give you a brochure that lists out the title of each act, guess it would’ve been nice to have some background information as to why they created those acts, but you really didn’t know what was on the set so not sure what we missed. I’m glad we went. And I would recommend it if you’re looking for a taste of culture. We were in row C, which was close to stage but to be honest any seat in the house allows you a clear view of the stage it’s a small theater.

Before I go to Hanoi, I worry about transportation, but luckily I found this service in website and I try to use for my first time, the service is very reliable.
This airport pick up service was excellent. The online booking was smooth, the driver was waiting for me in the terminal and he ensured I was guided to the car safely. He was a very good driver, the car was lovely and clean and comfortable.

I really like Vietnamese culture. That's why I chose to watch the water puppet show. I was suggested to book online. When I arrived, I didn't have to line up, but the staff gave me the tickets in person, which was very convenient. Unique program, very talented Vietnamese artists

Completely mismanaged by the booking agency.
1. No one near the ticket counter displaying/ announcing the presence. Had to ask 4-5 people randomly before I met the right guy.
2. He had no clue what to do. Came back apologetically giving us tickets in different rows!
3. There is nothing VIP about the service. All this goof up, made us miss the timely seating, and show had started by the time we managed.
4. All this, despite reaching the venue 30 minutes in advance.
5. In all this, no one was picking the call on contact number of agency, printed on the ticket.
Completely ruined the experience. Otherwise puppet show is very good. Just avoid this agency.

Captivating music, beautiful traditional singing and awesome puppets. Paid extra for front row vip seats to take it all in. Worth it. No need to pay for audios since performance pulls you in.

I had a lot of luggage, when I arrived there was a long line. At that time, I booked online, thinking I would have to line up to get tickets. Unexpectedly, a staff member gave me a ticket and I immediately boarded. Luggage is stored below. Wonderful

Buying tickets online, although the price is a bit different, we don't need to queue. And there will definitely be tickets. I really like this. The staff is cute, he plays with my child very happily, that's why I love Vietnamese people. Everyone should book

I am a person with foot problems. That's why I booked online. When I arrived I thought I would have to wait a while but no, a staff member found me and gave me the ticket, then I could go upstairs. He even offered to help me up. So friendly, I love Vietnam
