- jnnfrmrry0 contributionsWorth The DayGreat day trip to Ninh Binh from Hanoi. Victor was an excellent guide and provided us with so much information on the area (and Vietnam in general). We started the day cycling through a local village to a temple, toured the temple, then cycled back for lunch (buffet style included, you pay for drinks and ice cream though). Bring water with you - it is hot and sunny and our group did not think we would need any based on the itinerary time estimates but all agreed we wished we had. We enjoyed the boats to Tam Coc, and the hike up Lying Dragon Mountain (it is steep! Check out the lotus fields at the base if you are not in shape or have issues walking). Ninh Binh is beautiful and we are glad to have worked this into our trip. Overall wonderful experience for the price. Highly recommend this one!Written 4 September 2024
- TOJO63580 contributionsDon’t miss this experienceVictor was the epitome of a 5 star Vietnamese Tour guide… knowledgable, considerate and comical. Overall passionate - which makes him so good. Yes we got to see all the advertised tour spots.. but we also got to see how the locals live, water buffalo and local animals. Don’t be put off by the 500 steps at last stop… there is beautiful grounds to walk around or have a quiet sit at one of numerous cafes. Also I need to mention the skill of our driver - he was amazing and we felt very safe.Written 3 September 2024
- R3122JFalie0 contributionsA fun, entertaining dayFirst time in Vietnam and this tour to Nimh Binh was an excellent choice for a day trip away from Hanoi. With Vu as our tour guide we were entertained and educated on Vietnam culture, customs and etiquette as the bus drove us to the various destinations. Cycling to the temple was a blast through country villages and roads before having a delicious buffet lunch followed by a scenic trip by row boat through limestone arches. Relaxing and breathtaking at the same time. A real stunner for photography. The last stop for the real energetic was a climb to the temple which is not for everyone but then relaxing below and people watching in the shade was just as good. Vu the tour guide made the trip effortless and was the perfect host offering cold bottled water at every stop. I would recommend this tour all day long!Written 3 September 2024
- O6100LLmichaelk0 contributionsSmooth experience, great sites, Guide Victor was ExcellentGreat trip with our tour guide Victor. Learned so much about the country, Ninh Binh, and every detail from pick up to drop off was taken care of. Really smooth day with great sites and food for lunch. Victor also provided lots of water throughout and recommendations for places to visit and eat in Hanoi. Absolutely lovely way to make your trip to Vietnam even better.Written 3 September 2024

A highlight not to be missed. Our guide Rachel was informative and enthusiastic. The boat trip in Trang An amid the huge rock formations and through the caves was breathtaking. Although this is called the Halong Bay of the interior it is actually a more compelling experience because you are much closer to the natural formations and actually pass through them. The 500 step climb at Mua Cave is well worth the fabulous views from the top. The buffet lunch was quite ordinary with lots of variety but nothing very tasty or unusual. However that is a small quibble when compared to the overall experience.

Got to see the ancient capital of Vietnam in Hoa Lu, explore by boat the UNESCO Trang An complex, that was my number 1 activity and climb the 500 steps of the Mua cave. While there are many other highlights in Ninh Binh I think this day trip makes for a memorable day.
It's a long tour. We started off at 730am from Hamoi Opera House. And only got back due to traffic around 730pm.
Peter our guide did a great job in taking care of our little group. When we were browsing products made by the victims of the orange agent, the gift centre is a social enterprise, we were given lanyards to wear with our bus license plate on it! When we were touring ancient Hoa Lu we were the Viet conical hats! Easy to spot each other!
Some pointers. Ours was a Sunday tour. While we had less traffic in the morning we hit traffic getting back to Hanoi. Folks were returning for the new work week. I guess a week day tour might have the reverse traffic issue. Pack some snacks for the way back. As you will be having a delayed dinner.
Take your time up the 500 steps. I think all of us can do it it's just a matter of taking your time. Some of the steps are steep.
Remember to tip the boatman. It's a long paddle. Many of us helped out by using our passenger paddles too! Not sure if the young people would enjoy this. Noticed a few bored expressions on passing boats. It is beautiful and tranquil.
Big thank you to Peter and the bus driver. Great tour!

This day tour to Ninh Binh has the best itinerary. This covers Bai Dinh Pagoda before noon and Trang An and Hang Mua post lunch. Hang Mua is the last stop before heading back to Hanoi.
Bai Dinh Pagoda is huge. If you have more time then you can spend one entire day exploring this place.
Tran An is spectacular. It's one of the most beautiful places that I have seen. Though the place is very touristy, it is very well managed. There are 3 boat routes here. We took route number 2. It passed through 3 caves; the longest one was 320 meters.
Hang Mua takes at the most 45 minutes to climb. Excellent view from the top.
Our Tour Guide was "Key" he is a very funny guy.
Enjoyed the trip.

This trip was one of the highlights of our stay in Hanoi. Although it was a long day (about 12 hours from start to finish) the opportunity to witness life in rural Vietnam more than made up for it. Floating along the river in bamboo boats felt like we were living in a National Geographic documentary. Climbing 500 stone steps to the top of the Mua Caves was worth the effort ( and sore legs the following day) to be able to experience the spectacular views over the rice paddies below. Our tour guide, Peter, looked after us exceptionally well and ensured we got the best out of the tour. If you have a spare day in Hanoi I would highly recommend this trip!

The boat ride down the river through the caves was amazing. We also took a bike ride through the countryside before lunch which was fun. It was misting and we were provided w ponchos which worked well to keep from getting soaked. The lunch that was provided wasn't the greatest but that did not detract from t the rest of the excellent day.

The Mua Cave Hiking Mountain was the best part of this amazing trip. From the top we can see the panorama of the Tam Coc. It’s step but young children and older people were able to do. We can make sure that very well worth!

From booking to the after-tour everything went smoothly.
Even though I had an issue because of miscommunication, it was handled quickly and thoroughly. First I was quite surprised and impressed how fast that issue was handled. I’m very satisfied with their service. It was nice to have my first tour with them after 2 year pandemic. I appreciate making a good memory. Would choose this agency again if I come back to Hanoi. I strongly recommend it!

If one person does not want to climb the 500 steps up Mua, can they just wait at the bottom for the other person to return?
