- OnAir594102625520 contributionsAmazing trek and local experienceAmazing trek booked at the last minute. Despite the rain and fog, the 5 hour hike was super pleasant (bit treacherous at the end but easily doable). Once arrived, the dinner and the atmosphere was amazing and super homely, followed by a good night of sleep. Breakfast amazing and we went back for a second smaller hike through the rice fields and through other villages I highly recommend for a short trip, we booked last minute the night before.Written 5 December 2024
- W9170BOrobh0 contributionsMama Zuzu.....what an amazing tour guide! The trekking trip with Mama ZuZu was amazing! The transport was great at communicating pickups and arrived on time. The sleeper was quite small for me (being 6ft'3) but you can upgrade to VIP buses if you wish. After arriving in Sa Pa after 6 hours, we were greeted by Mama ZuZu and had lunch before beginning the trek which showed how beautiful the area is. After 3.5 hours trekking we arrived at the homestay and not knowing what to expect, it exceeded everything I thought. Her and her family/friends made us feel so welcome throughout our stay and drinking rice wine shots and beers after the amazing feast rounded off a great first day. The second day was more of the same with a good breakfast, coffee/tea before setting off on another trek. Again the scenery is breathtaking and we were really lucky with the weather both days but make sure to bring some proper grippy trainers/shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting a bit dirty. Amazing experience overall, would definitely recommend!Written 30 November 2024
- ukzioaj0 contributionsunavoidableNice view but slippery and muddy floor. At lunch time we were accosted by street sellers and he didn't make an effort to ask them to go away. The first 3 hours were horrible, it wasn't until after lunch that we enjoyed the scenery and the route a bit.Written 25 November 2024
- geleaw20240 contributionsBad bad experienceThis tour was not as amazing as I had hoped. Our guide didn’t really give any info about what we were seeing and just wondered off from the main group several times leaving us to wait for him.Written 23 November 2024
- 46katir0 contributionsTo be avoidThe organization didn’t send any information after booking. The guide was great and knowledgeable, however the walk was just ok and too crowded for my liking. Due to the rain the trekking path was not easy and very very very slippery.Written 23 November 2024

- yohankuei0 contributionsBest Sapa experienceOne of the best experiences I've had! Mama Zuzu was amazing, she has been trekking for over 11 years. She's always smiling and super helpful! We stayed at Lala homestay and the place was astonishingly clean. Everything was perfect! Highly recommendedWritten 17 September 2024
- N2937FSquentind0 contributionsAfter the deluge and the typhoon, trekking in the rice paddies under the sunWe have been guided by Ma Ma for 2 days and 1 night, just after the huge rains and the typhoon in Vietnam. We are very glad that we didn't cancel our trek and homestay with her, as it was amazing ! Ma Ma showed us around by trekking in the rice paddies, experiencing riding on scooters and eating delicious local food, made by her husband ! Even though the paths were sometimes a bit slippery, we were able to see enough of the landscapes (safely, with Ma Ma's help) and be immersed in the local Hmong culture.Written 16 September 2024
- 768facundom0 contributionsGreat experienceA great experience. Mama Zuzu has really been a great guide and very kind. The HomeStay is a very attractive, clean and ideal place to rest. Advisable!Written 7 September 2024
- robertacW1631EW0 contributionsWonderful experience! Thank you Mama Zuzu ♥️Mama Zuzu was simply wonderful, precise and organised! A woman with enormous energy, as much as her smile and kindness. We had a rather strenuous afternoon trek, but the beauty of the landscapes around us repaid any effort. Walking through rice paddies, maize fields and bamboo forest was truly sensational. The homestay in which we stayed was a small refuge, a peaceful corner right next to a stream. It was well maintained, clean and had a beautiful dining room. We ate very well both for dinner and breakfast and everything was homemade. Everything was beautiful, I will never forget this experience and these people!Written 28 July 2024
- karensZ6524UU0 contributionsFabulous holiday building great memories of beautiful and diverse IndochinaThe Unforgettable Vietnam/Cambodia 16 days/15 nights is a really fabulous tour, visiting so many of the highlights of these countries. We have many unforgettable memories from a diverse range of experiences, we were really immersed into the Vietnamese culture. We really enjoyed the mix of transport - car, plane, train, bike, tuk tuk and even water buffalo. All the hotels organised, tour guides and drivers arranged were really excellent (punctual, spoke great English, knowledgeable and friendly), everything ran like clockwork. Manh was available on Whatsapp at all times, really responsive, updating us on precise pick up times and next tour guide. My husband, two daughters (16 and 12) had a marvellous time. Highly recommend.Written 27 July 2024
- edwardmL3721DI0 contributionsMy first Homestay and LOVED ITI was trekking and staying with Mama ZuZu and their family. They really looked after us so well! I had never done a homestay before so I was nervous about if I would enjoy it. I hike was just what I had needed after being in Hanoi for a week. It was steep at first but then levelled out and the views were stunning, I liked the hiking through bamboo forests to get to the homestay in the early evening. There was so much food and they had a fridge with soft drinks you could have in the evening. On the second day the views were AMAZING. I have always wanted to see rice fields up close like this and was blown away by how beautiful it was. I would highly recommend to anyone considering booking this. Bring Hiking boots / Walking boots with you and also swimming clothes if you want to dip in the waterfall.Written 12 July 2024
- 876carisah0 contributionsAuthentic stay in rural farming homestay with nice famikyWe enjoyed the opportunity to stay with a home stay that has more of a country living ambiance. From the moment we got off the bus in Sa Pa, Kat was a great guide as we walked 2 hours to the house (because of our 10-year old daughter, we took a taxi half the way because it was too hot & humid to hike the full 5km). The rest of the guests hiked the full way. Our luggage was bought up via motorbike. The house is typical country and very clean. You have all you need there; new toilet, hot water for shower, plug ins with converters, WiFi and warm blankets. We had a fabulous group dinner all made from scratch and then Mama Little entertained us with rounds of Happy Water!! The hike out the next morning was lovely passing by the rice fields, it took 2-2.5 hours to hike down and we had lunch by the waterfall. Bring bug spray as some trails are nature trails and beware the trails can be muddy & slippery. The owner was very attentive, professional and the whole family is kind. Families don’t normally sign up for this homestay as the accommodations are rural like and there is a lot of hiking but for the right type of family, it’s an adventure. Wonderful stay, great people.Written 19 May 2024
