- 1At either 8am or 12:30pm your private tour guide and car will pick you up from your hotel and take you North West to the Cu Chi Tunnels which are 70kms away. This is an area where Vietnamese people proudly held their ground during the Vietnam war (in Vietnam it is known as The American War). Over 200kms of underground tunnels were made, the trip will help you understand the struggle the Vietnamese would have gone through on the frontline. It took an enormous amount of ingenuity, courage and imagination to match the enemy and these tunnels were a big part of the Vietnam War and ended being a resounding victory for the Cu Chi people. The tunnel system, fortifications and trenches were a part of a soldiers life, you will see how they lived, the kitchens, store rooms, hospital, living quarters. You can crawl around parts of the tunnel yourself and watch a video of the history of the Vietnam War in this area. We will then take you back to your hotel.

- MargaretM1920 contributionsExcellent tour of SaigonExcellent tour with our guide Tony. Although we couldn’t visit the Independence Palace as it was closed due to a fire drill, everywhere else was so interesting, and Tony spent quite some time explaining what we were going to see before we visited each place. We also enjoyed a delicious six course lunch as part of the tour, then visited one of the oldest coffee shops in Saigon, and watched the process of coffee being made in stoneware pots, before trying some. Thanks to Tony and our driver, Mr Luan for a wonderful day.Written 26 November 2024

- P4253WDpeters0 contributionsAn excelkent day, delving in to Vietnamese history and culture with Tony, the best tour guide yet.I had an amazing day, and this could not have happened without Tony as my tour guide. Tony is obviously passionate sbout sharing his love of his city and his country, and from this passion came a great education for me, about Vietnamese culture and history, without the touristy gimmicks, which is exactly why I came to visit Vietnam. To learn. Although appearing laid back, he is totally professional and knowledgable, and it was an absolute joy to spend time in his company. He is not only a great tour guide, but a wonderful ambassador for Vietnam. Thank you Tony.Written 15 November 2024
- Shirley A0 contributionsHalf day private tour with TonyTony was a fabulous guide. Very knowledgeable and took us to places we were more interested in. - lisacR4026MI0 contributionsEntertaining and accessibleHad a great tour with Tony today. He had a great itinerary planned for us which covered the things we really wanted to see including a temple, the independence palace and the war remnants museum. Tony gave us a lot of context for everything we saw. A very entertaining way to learn more about Vietnam.Written 13 November 2024
- 891tedd0 contributionsEntertaining, interesting, AND educational! Great combination 👍😊Our guide for this excellent historical and cultural tour was Tony - whom I noticed in other reviews of this tour has been regarded as very good at his job! My wife and I would most certainly agree with this view. From the minute he met us in our hotel lobby until the moment we separated in the same place at the end of our tour, Tony was polite, friendly and absolutely full of interesting and useful information. For example, he was excellent at explaining in detail the ins and outs of religious, cultural and political minutiae regarding temples and pagodas. He showed the same thoroughness and attention to detail with his descriptions of the Independence Palace and its place in the history of Vietnam. All of our visits on the tour were given the same attention; and we are much better educated as a result! Nevertheless this was not just an educational exercise; it was of course thought-provoking and very interesting - and delivered in a pleasant and engaging manner. We also loved the ‘Fun Facts’ that he sprinkled throughout his talks. The backdrop to all this was of course the architecture. From the temple to the Independence Palace to the Post Office building and the cathedral, it was very interesting to see the different styles and influences. Again, lots of interesting and absorbing architectural information supplied by Tony👍. Overall, a very worthwhile tour - and a morning well spent with a pleasant, meticulous and knowledgeable guy. We would happily recommend him to anyone who wants a proper tour, not just a tourist-orientated lightweight ramble. Thank you Tony - and all the best for the future! From Ted & Rosie Dunstan 👍😊Written 12 November 2024

I went on a half day trip to Cu Chi tunnels. We left the hotel perfectly on time and got there fast. The visit itself was really fascinating, Jaho took care of everything and showed me around, he is a really great guy and a knowledgeable tour guide! Highly recommended experience!

We booked this tour at the last minute, yet Roadstours couldn't have been more helpful with the booking and payment. We needed a pick up from the airport, and a drop back to a hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and this was no trouble at all. As the tunnels are out past the airport, this is a great way to do the trip.
Our guide was OK, nothing more than that, although she answered all of our questions. One of the guides at the tunnels was so enthusiastic, telling his group loads of information with passion. Our guide really brightened up towards the end of the tour when she could play with the cats in the shop. The tunnels themselves were great, providing a real and shocking insight into life for the Viet cong. I would definitely recommend this tour and this company.

My tour was amazing. CeCe my tour guide was delightful and the driver very good. I am so glad I got to see the tunnels and see what life was like for those that lived through the war. I booked many tours on this trip and each was fabulous. Happy with the service I have had with Trip Advisor and Viator tours!

Cu Chi Tour was the highlight of our Indochina Trip as we were able to experienced being inside the tunnels. Our group was the only one who tried the 50m tunnel during the tour. Our tour guide, Natalie, gave us all the information we need to know about Cu Chi. She also reached with everyone of us inside the bus, asked how are we and where are we from. She also gave us tips on how to explore Ho Chi Minh. After the tour, they also provided snacks (cassava and tea) which is really good. Overall, it was a nice experience. We reached Ben Thanh Market at around 3pm which gave us ample time to still shop and have a city tour.

We had a private tour with a guide called Field, who was brilliant. He took great care in explaining everything to us, and answering our questions about life in Vietnam generally. We saw big tourist groups at the Cu Chi Tunnels and felt that we got more out of the experience through being in a small group, and felt extremely lucky in having the intelligent guide we did.

Cu Chi Tunnels was the site my partner Ben wanted to visit most as we were planning for this Honeymoon trip. It lived up to every expectation, he also got to experience an AK.
We were greeted by Japan and his driver at the hotel. Both friendly with a great smile. The ride to Cu Chi is not long so it really pays to travel in the comfort of a private car.
Japan is our guide, he is young but knowlegable, he is also kind about a request we had. We appreciate the preparation he had with the photos and the history stories.
Thank yoh for making the last day at Vietnam fun and memorable.
