About
With its stilted villages and scenic farms, the Mekong Delta offers enough to see that it’s difficult to see the highlights on a day trip from Ho Chi Minh, especially on your own. But this guided tour makes it possible: Visit a family home, take a horse-cart ride, and boat through canals (upgrade for a bike tour). A small group size means plenty of time to ask questions.

I booked onto this tour as a solo traveller and didn’t regret it. It’s a fantastic day out seeing a temple, the Mekong river, you get to see some local food production, have some canoe rides, eat some local food, and lots of other friendly travellers to meet. The local honey tea was great.

Phu was our tour guide and he was fantastic. He explained everything we saw, shared loads of interesting information about Vietnamese culture like wedding norms and history, and made sure we were all safe and on time; faultless. Thanks for such a great tour Phu!

If you’re looking for a day out of Saigon that’s not too taxing, then do this, it’s pretty laid back and doesn’t involve too much walking.

We had a really good day on this tour with Alex. We were picked up from our hotel at 8.10AM and got in a van with AC to see the big Buddha, then we’re given some time to roam and take pictures. Throughout the van ride Alex had a great sense of humour and had lots of banter. After the big Buddhas, we went on a boat ride across the delta which was ok.
After this we arrived at a honey bee farm and tasted some honey tea which was delicious. We then went to a locals home where they sang traditional songs for us and we had fruit - this was one of our favourite parts of the tour! There is an opportunity to give a tip so be sure to bring some Dong with you.
Finally we went to a coconut candy making factory where we tasted the candy (so yummy!) and then we took a smaller boat trip ride to lunch which was so good. We had elephant ear fish, spring rolls, steamed rice and soup.
Overall a really good trip but knocking down 1 star because there is a lot of travel involved and there was no option for bike riding. Also we did not get to travel by horse cart either.
Be sure to wear something small because it gets VERY hot on the boat!

This experience is well worth the money you’ll get an experienced tour guide who speaks very good English and you get to see a whole new side of the area from going down the Mekong river to eating some delicious coconut candy/trying snake wine and holding a real snake if you want to. You also have some good lunch included and even ride a bike around one of the islands free of charge.
Overall absolutely worth getting up early for
good addition to your trip in Ho Chi Minh

Great day tour out of Saigon to the river Delta. We booked the private tour with a group of 4 and I highly recommend it over the larger group tours. Much more intimate and you can spend the time admiring the sights instead of waiting for stragglers. Betty, our guide, and Nam, our driver, were both excellent. Bus was very comfortable. Everything is included except drinks and tips. We especially liked the lunch with spring rolls with fried fish and the fruit and honey tea tastings in the morning.

I had a great tour with Betty yesterday to the Mekong Delta. It was myself, a group of 16 people from Russia and one other guy from Italy. The group itself was a little chaotic and many folks spoke only Russian but Betty handled it like a champ. She was engaging, funny, informative and friendly. I really enjoyed her and she even dealt well with a young man trying to ask her out. She was professional and clear with her boundaries while still being friendly.

The tour was pretty busy with a variety of stops. It felt a bit touristy to me, but I understand that is how folks make their income in these areas. I was able to enjoy a boat ride, fruit tasting, seeing a pagoda, coconut candy tasting, local music, and more. The pace was good and the activities were engaging. For a tourist type tour it was nice. Plus the bus was comfy and had wifi. We were provided a bottle of cold water.

The only thing was the lunch was not great on my visit. The food was prob my least fav meal in HCMC but it seemed to be the spot a lot of tours go so it might have just been an off meal.

Overall I would definitely recommend this tour for folks who want to see this area as part of a group tour.

What a fun adventure. Although it was super hot (considering we went in June) it was a cool experience to hear about the culture and history of Mekong.
We booked a VP tour & were picked up in a Sky Bus which I highly recommend. It’s spacious, has massage chairs and they take very good care of you.

Our first stop was Pagoda, which you can walk around and take pictures. It’s very short, but cool to see. Our tour guide, Khang, told us the history of it which was awesome.

Then we took the Sky Bus to the boats for Mekong Delta. Once we docked, we had some local fruit, and listened to locals sing and play instruments. We got a ride on a golf cart to the area where you can hop on a local boat & the paddle you through the river. So cool to experience for sure.

After, we stopped by a bee farm, had local honey tea (which was so good!!!) and then we’re surprised by a python they had! My nieces loves seeing it and then we made our way to their coconut candy area where you can watch and learn how they make the candy. When we finished, we made our way back on the boat to the local restaurant.

The food was actually very good! They have someone who can roll spring rolls for you with the fish. Such a cool experience.

When we finished, we hopped back on the boat and that concluded our trip! It was a long day, but very worth it.

If you’re traveling with children, just know it’s kid friendly & there are restrooms after every stop which is nice!

The tour was worth it, and again, our tour guide Khang was funny, engaging & very helpful! He mentioned he had not done tours in awhile because of COVID but his English is great & he was very attentive. We loved it & so did my nieces!!!

Definitely recommend!

I am delighted with the tour, we had a great time. We were at the tasting of honey products, touched bees and snakes, were at the local production of coconut sweets, tried and bought some for ourselves, listened to the performance of local artists. After delicious lunch the restaurant, we sailed the Mekong Delta. Thanks to our wonderful guide Ele, everything was fine, even despite the rainy weather. Thank you for everything.

Two day Mekong Tour with home stay.

We had a lovely time, although a little touristy Alex our tour guide did a very good job in avoiding the crowds for us. A small group meant he was attentive, entertaining and helpful.

Although it says it’s a two day Mekong tour, we spent about an hour on the Mekong river on day one and an hour and a half the following morning. The 2nd day finished at 9:AM before heading back to HCMC. From the itinerary, I expected this to be a longer tour.

On day one we cycled around a village, visited a candy workshop and took a boat through the picturesque palm trees.

Lunch on the first day was tourist place and the worst food we have eaten through our entire 3 weeks in Vietnam 👎🏼
However, we did really enjoy our experience at the home stay.👍🏼

Day two
Early start to hit the floating market at sunrise. You are guaranteed to get some amazing pictures here.

Quick pho stop on a restaurant boat before heading to a rice paper factory. Lunch was eaten on the way back to HCMC and returned at mid day.
