Stop: 4 hours - Admission included
take the morning trip to visit Independence Palace, also known at the Reunification palace, was built on the sight of the former Norodom palace is a widely known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City and was designed by the architect Ngo Viet Thu. It was the sight of the end of the Vietnam/American war in 1975, as a North Vietnamese army tank crashed through the gates. The tank is still located at the Independence Palaces’ property. Continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office. Followed by the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum the museum has a vast display of the both the Indochina wars. In courtyard massive military vehicles are for exhibition as well as tiger cages for the visitor to get a feel on how it was to be a prisoner during wartimes. In the museum building itself, each floor will represent a separate theme from the war and the war crimes committed towards the Vietnamese people.

What an absolute insightful, heart-rending, melancholy place to learn and see the effect of the Vietnam and IndoChine wars. The tenacity and fortitude of those who opposed the war and the horrors are there and so is the need for peace. You must go.

Although I was too young to be drafted for Vietnam, I am old enough that some of the equipment on display was still in use by the US military when I joined. This made the experience a bit surreal for me.

The museum has a nice collection of well-maintained military equipment, and some very informative, and sometimes graphic, displays. This was definitely worth seeing.

The museum had a lot of information and facts on the war. It appeared be based on the American side. The photos were incredible, the scenes captured a whole variety of moments of the war - with informing captions. I felt much admiration for the photographers. It was quite confronting but it’s definitely a must-see. It really opened my eyes. I was both shocked and intrigued in the Agent Orange display. So many victims affected in different ways.. I couldn’t believe a chemical could do so many horrible things to the human body.

I didn’t take any photos as I felt you had to be there to experience it. I left the museum stunned..

The first stop was the Post Office that is still operative but serves as a tourist spot. After this, i just crossed the road to visit the Notre Dom Cathedral.. unfortunately, its under restoration at the moment so couldnt go in but got to click lovely pictures. after this, i was headed to the reuniFication palace.. the guide spoke fluent english and gave information about the palace and its significance. Followed by this, was the visit to the lacquer factory where i learnt about the art of lacquer painting. Then i was taken to a Buddha temple that is 200 years old. After this, the guide took me to the fabric market and a local market where i indulged in buying se dried fruits (really cheap). The last stop was the Museum of war remanants. It was heart breaking to learn about the tyrannies that the Vietnamese were subjected to by the Americans. After this, i was dropped back to my hotel. You should go for it..

Interesting to see some of the exhibits and the display of equipment outside. Otherwise move on quickly as it’s about what you would guess from the current regime. The tour spent too much time there. Many other more interesting things to see in today’s city.

We thought that having an organised tour can be an amazing idea. Little did we know that this specific tour (Ho Chi Minh half day city tour) will be an awesome experience with a little bit of eye-opening and touching #feels. We visited this War Remnants Museum and we were thrilled with Vietnam War's stories and graphic representations. We found ourselves lucky and hopeful for the future. Please don't miss this part of the tour so you'll also be able to know "this part" of history.

It was a great time over there. My Vietnamese friend accompany me there after paid for the entrance fee. We went inside there were some young beautiful Vietnamese ladies guide. My friend went to request for one of them to show us around and explained what were some of the important picture events info., that happened during the war time. It was worth the time to visit it and got to know the suffering of Vietnamese that they had gone through these.
