About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Willis1620 contributionsNot the bestBit of a disappointment for the money we paid. I don’t feel like we saw as much as we could of. We were left to explore the war remnants museum on our own, shown the palace from outside the gates. The post office which is free and the Notre Dame, which is under restoration for a few more years.Written 26 April 2024
- wilsonschmidt0 contributionsBehind the laneways, cooking and shopping with locals. Wonderful people, wonderful tour!Cain, Rick and Ang picked us up from our accomodation by motor scooter and we took to the streets of the city before we had time to feel apprehensive. Starting with a cold coffee made in the wet market by one of the earliest street stalls (1940's and still going) we walked through the crowded laneways and picked up some ingredients for our lunch. Back on the mopeds and off to Miss Hoa's. Tucked away in the less chaotic side streets of the district 4, Miss Hoa and her family reside together in the family home that doubles as a corner street eatery. In a tight corner she runs 2 gas burners for her wok cookery. Upon arrival our ingredients were mostly prepped and ready to go, she gave a demo with us helping along- using her own stirring rod made by her! Our lunch was delicious, pork mince in omlette, sour soup with tammarind, chicken and garlic, snake head fish flavoured with lemon grass and fried and fresh greens in garlic- all so fresh and tangy. These young local lads, and Cain the main guide particularly, are charming and helpful in every way. Having studied tourism, Cain was able to talk in depth about everything from ancient history and geography, communism, the war, culture and local religions, he was very well read. We thoroughly enjoyed our day out and would never have gone behind the scenes without the guides and this tour toWritten 15 November 2023

- kelly s0 contributionsIf you’re looking for a great walking tour in Vietnam, look no further.I would highly recommend this walking tour. Kevin the tour guide was a wealth of information and also made the tour super fun. From start to finish he was professional and polite. He spoke about sensitive topics regarding the Vietnamese war with such compassion and respect. He allowed time for us to explore the points by ourselves and answered any questions we had. He didn’t rush us if we wanted to spend more time at certain locations and even thought us some Vietnamese words. If you’re looking for a walking tour in Vietnam, look no further.Written 17 June 2023
- Irislvt0 contributionsQualitative local experience, highly recommend itI took two classes with Ms Tu and loved it ! David, his nephew, was an amazing guide who taught me a lot about Vietnamese daily life, culture and cuisine and Ms Tu is a lovely lady and very skilled cook. I had a lot of fun spending time with them both in their family home. The food we prepared was of course delicious. A variety of every-day life dishes which you would not usually find in restaurants. Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to step out of the traditional tourist map. Many thanks to Kevin from Saigon Wow Tours for managing the whole thing.Written 18 May 2023
- 761alexandrua0 contributionsWalking Saigon? Our best walking tour experience!Wow, just wow! If you're looking for a walking tour of Saigon, stop looking, you've found it. Our group of 8 had an epic time with Kelvin and Pumpkin. These guys know their stuff and they're fun to hang out with too! They also took a bunch photos of us as we were walking with their own camera and then shared the photos with us. This was a very nice touch! We learned loads about the city, but it didn't feel like a history lesson - more like exploring with a couple of friends who happen to be local experts. Kelvin loves answering questions about Saigon, so come armed with your curiosities. Oh, and shout out to Kevin who checked in with me over Whatsapp after the tour. I didn’t feel great and had to leave the tour early while my group continued. Kevin followed up to check-in on me and see if there’s anything they can do to help. Great customer service right there! So yeah, 5-star recommendation from us. This tour company rocks and you'll definitely have a good time hanging out with the guides and exploring the city!Written 14 May 2023
- Alicia S0 contributionsHighly recommended!Dickies was a really friendly tour guide who showed us around the main sight seeing sights. He provided some really interesting information on the sights and the architectural history. He is also very knowledgeable on Vietnam’s history and even shared a story about his Grandpa. We felt very safe walking the streets and would recommend him to anyone for this tour!Written 24 April 2023
- estherdQ1903EW0 contributionsExceptional experience!I was solo in HCMC for a long layover and this tour was an exceptional way to get an introduction to the city! Peter met me near the food tour start and took me to some amazing spots offering delicious tastes of Vietnam! He asked about any allergies and my preferences, goals in the tour, and comfort throughout the experience. In addition to the specific food descriptions, Peter tied in the history of Vietnam to the differences in cooking styles and flavors. He talked about his experience growing up and his family's cooking style in regard to our dishes. The food was amazing: savory pancakes, fried dumplings, local vegetables, authentic pho, spicy bahn mi, amazing coffee and lychee ice creams, sugar cane and calamansi drink, everything was so delicious and well balanced. Peter was friendly and really helped me understand and appreciate the food styles as well as introduced me to the history of some of the city. Thank you again Peter for a great tour! I can't wait to come back and explore more!Written 21 April 2023
- euanh20150 contributionsLovelyGreat concise tour, our guide Dickies was a col guy and very knowledgeable. Enough time to go through the war remnant museum, a good history of the independence palace, Saigon Notre dame and french post office, finished with a nice coffee on the publishers street. Good value, nice group!Written 11 April 2023
- hkbui870 contributionsWonderful experience - Above and beyond expectations!Had a great tour with Alex who is an amazing tour guide. Very passionate, perfect English, respectful and extremely informative. Shared with us so many stories and perspectives of HCM and Vietnam that we will never hear of, if not on this tour. Answered all of our questions and honestly was more like a friend than a tour guide! Went above and beyond our expectations and very thankful for the experience. Highly recommended and please request for Alex!Written 10 April 2023
- AMH_Marcus0 contributionsGreat working tour withe a personable guideKevin was a fabulous local guide. Personable and provided some interesting perspective. Recommend this tour.Written 9 April 2023
- Franicks0 contributionsInformative but the weather is a bit of a challengeMake sure to book your tour early morning or late afternoon. The sweltering heat on an April afternoon can dampen the whole experience. It was an informative tour where the tour guide will generously share stories that or may not be part of the official records. The War Remnants Museum is specifically poignant as it tells the uncomfortable side of the war. The French/Chinese influence is very much felt around the city, from the architecture, food, words, and persuasions. The post office is interesting but very tourist-y. Spend some time admiring the local handicrafts and send a postcard to your loved ones, anywhere in the world. End the trip with a short walk of the book street and see locally published books. Overall, it was okay. I appreciate the stories and the personal attention provided by the team even before the actual tour. They readily answer your questions and will keep in touch as the trip nears. Best if tour guides can suggest proper photo spots and the best ways to take photos in this often-photographed location.Written 9 April 2023

- MxCorrie0 contributionsWonderful morning walk!Kevin was a wonderful guide and was very sensitive to my needs and feelings. He was especially compassionate reguarding the War Remnants Museum which I really appreciated. It was a great walking tour and felt more like spending time with a friend instead of being a part of a tour. I definitely recommend!Written 26 March 2023
- johnnav9100 contributionsA good introduction to SaigonWe had a nice orientation walk around the heart of Saigon with Kevin. He was easy to communicate with, took great photos of us, and pointed out the main sights in the core area.Written 21 March 2023
