This was an incredible experience! I been to the city for a couple of times already but never seen it like this. The locations We were a group of 3 solo travellers from different countries with varying skill levels, but Fred was super knowledgable, and the locations were great not just from a photographic angle, but also historical perspective, learning about the layers to this city. This is the best thing I did in this trip. Thank you Secret Experiences!

We went on a photo walk with Kevin around various different places. He took us down little alleys and into several old buildings which we probably wouldn’t have ventured into on our own. We very much enjoyed chatting with Kevin. Thank you for a lovely few hours exploring.

Fred and Kevin were very knowledgeable. They were attentive and gave great tips. As novices, we both learnt a great deal. We were shown aspects of life in HCMC we probably wouldn't have found on our own. Very enjoyable tour, which we highly recommend.

The Secret Street Photography was an amazing experience! From the chill cafe spots to curated street photography back lanes and hidden buildings, on top of photography tips, Fred puts the city into perspective with his knowledge on the spaces, and what the locals are doing with their vanishing manual trades - many of which are not no longer common sightings in urban cities. It was refreshing to slow down and take a route less travelled, away from the usual tourist spots to learn more about the nuances and details in Saigons everyday life. Think textured old/abandoned buildings, back alleys, temples and a slow, mindful practice. A bonus, to be able to capture them better even through my amateur mobile phone lenses with his guidance of "what's the focus??", "follow the light!" 🤣 Definitely a unique experience not to be missed!

Fred and his team were incredibly accommodating and responsive. Their answers to my questions prior to meeting were received in a few minutes, and on the day, Fred was a wealth of knowledge. He has been living in the city for almost two decades, and he knows it very well. We started the day exploring a local neighborhood, and then we started going into buildings that I would have never even noticed or known about. The locals all seem to know him, so we ended up having plenty of opportunities to do some street style portrait photography along the way because of that. He is a patient teacher, helping me with my camera settings and giving me tips on how to make the best of my camera. When we were done with the tour, Fred walked me back to a nondescript but really cool building and told me to go in and explore it, and it was a treat. After that, he sent me the location of a local market that I will be exploring tomorrow. All in all, it was a fantastic tour and I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Fred and team.

What a great experience! I've never taken a photography class before, but I've been interested in photography since I was a teen. Fred, our guide/instructor, was very easy to talk to and offered great advice on "making" pictures instead of "taking" pictures. We talked about light, composition, and the opportunistic nature of street photography as we toured multiple interesting locations in Saigon. If you are an experienced pro, an amateur street photographer, or new to photography this will be the best money you have spent in a very long time. This tour has been the highlight of my Vietnam trip so far. Fred is not only an experienced pro, but he can meet you at your level. I was amazed at how much I learned from him (I’ve been shooting street for 25 years all over the world). He took me to old Saigon and I saw and shot things I would’ve never found on my own. It was immersive. His knowledge of the local history and architecture was fascinating. Lightings tips, composition, and how to take street portraits respectfully. Just take the tour. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I’d share some photos but I am still editing. 😂

Fred ist a well experienced photographer, who knows where to go in Saigon to give you the best street photography experience. Good locations and a very friendly and patient host. The tour ist excellent for beginners and for experienced photographers as well!

If I could rate 10 over 5, I would! Fred is super nice, and experienced enough to get you to interact either with the environment and the people. I strongly recommend the tour, even you have any knowledge about photography or not.
