          A great day out!
We had a fantastic cookery experience with Alice, who was absolutely brilliant! She was really informative and had a contagious enthusiasm for her cuisine and methods which made this one of the best experiences we've had on a holiday! After the cookery class, and having eaten the rewards of Alice' skills, we visited a rubber plantation and the Chu Chi Tunnels which was a revelation. We cannot recommend this experience and Alice enough if you want to learn about Vietnamese cooking and the conflict from another perspective.

A day well spent cooking at a vietnamese farm and in the Cu Chi tunnels
Our family loved spending the day with Alice as she took us on a culinary journey of Vietnamese cuisine and the ingredients that go into making it so delectable and delightful. Her joie de vivre seeped into our day as she gave us a tour of the wet market and their organic farm where we hand picked the herbs and the mushrooms that went into our vegan dishes. Our young teenage kids loved the experience and their first stint at cooking and would not stop raving about their day spent with Alice. This was followed by a tour of Cu Chi tunnels and a stop at a rubber plantation. Overall an experience I would highly recommend to get a deep dive into every day Vietnamese life and an introduction to their food and cooking methodology. Alice is a jewel

          Amazing day out, highly recommend
Absolutely loved this experience. Alice picked us up in Ho Chi Minh and took us out to the farm for the farm and cooking experience. She was a wonderful guide and taught us so much about Vietnamese cooking and produce that's farmed. The food was as amazing, and it was such a relaxing day out. Would highly recommend!

          Farm to table cooking class
I highly rate this farm to table cooking class - five stars. The location was set out of the City and within a beautiful organic garden. Chef Alice directed us through cooking a range of meals - what I particularly liked was sitting down and eating at the end of each stage of cooking. Great day

          Amazing Experience
I highly recommend this cooking class! My husband and I were picked up at our hotel for the 11/2 hour drive to the school/farm. Alice, our amazing teacher, led us on a walk through the farm, collecting ingredients for the dishes we would make, explaining the health benefits of each plant. We were the only students participating that morning so, we were given 100% of Alice’s attention. Each dish that we made was delicious! Can’t wait to try making them at home!

          Amazing cooking class
We spent a wonderful time with Alice who teached us how to cook Vietnamese Food and the secret of the different sauces. All vegetables, mushrooms and aromatic herbs that we cooked came directly from the garden, we picked them up ourselves. It was a very interesting activity and we recommand it to everybody who likes eating 😉 because of course you will eat your own preparation. Ours were very tasty 😋. Thanks to our chef Alice

          Chef Alice is a delight!
I am so glad I decided to do this half day cooking class! It’s a wonderful experience. Very impressed with Chef Alice who is so knowledgeable about all the plants grown at the organic farm. I was on my own, but there was also a US family with 3 young children and it was lovely to see them exposed to how food grows naturally - and to have their own cooking station to prepare thr delicious 4 (or was it 5?) course meal. I learned a huge amount about creating authentic Vietnamese sauces and dishes. You not only receive a certificate at the end of the course, but each recipe printed out. I left with a big bagful of their delicious (and healthy) cashew nuts and spice blends. A definite must when visiting HCM city!!

          That’s right!
The tour guide was incredibly passionate about cooking, teaching, and guiding us throughout the tour! Alice Doan is everything we needed, literally and metaphorically ❤️ She’s a chef, a comedian, a teacher. Without her, we would not have been great cooks 🤩 Not to mentioned that she’s a real life barbie! 🥰

An unforgettable day at the HCM Cooking School
My daughter and I traveled in Vietnam for nearly a month and our day spent with Alice at the HCM Cooking School was one of the highlights of our trip. We were picked up at our hotel by Alice and her driver and by the time we reached the cooking school we knew we were in for a wonderful time. She is so personable as well as knowledgeable about the farm and gave us details about the plans for the day. Alice grew up in the area and while we picked the vegetables, for the meal we would later prepare, Alice was educating us on their use in the local cuisine. We also learned so much about the farm itself as well as the Cu Chi Tunnels and local rubber trees that we would visit later that day. Alice brings such passion to her work and she is a gifted story teller. We were guided on prepping and then cooking each of our 4 courses, one better than the next. My daughter and I are vegetarians and we were accommodated without feeling deprived. We had an amazing day and are looking forward to recreating the meal at home for our family! Oh, they also have a cashew business and OMG the cashews are the best I have ever had! Thank you Alice and HCM Cooking School for an amazing day!

Such a fun filled day with Alice - one of the highlights of our 3 week holiday
We had a fantastic day with Alice who taught us all about the farm and herbs / veg we harvested including their medicinal properties. She guided us clearly through the cooking class and the results were delicious! In particular the vegetable curry I made was better than I could have dreamed of making myself! The class was beginner friendly and in total we made 4 dishes each. We were picked up and dropped off directly from our hotel and it was a comfortable drive. I'm happy we combined our tour with the Cu Chi Tunnels tour in the afternoon (just a 15min drive) also led by Alice who was very knowledgeable and kindly answered all our questions. Thanks Alice for making the trip so memorable and special for us! p.s. Vegan options were available as well - just message in advance 😊

Fantastic tour with a lovely tour guide!
An absolute treat of a day trip experience to the countryside for a cooking class and visiting the Cu Chi tunnels. Our guide Alice was amazing and radiated positivity and cheerfulness the entire time. She walked us through every step of the cooking process and make sure we all ended up with delicious food at the end. The second half of the day was to the tunnels where she walked us through the history and backstory of the tunnel system. I opted to also visit the firing range and shoot an AK47 which was definitely a fun experience to round off an already great day. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting HCMC!

          Outstanding Cooking experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed this experience which was teamed with a visit to the very unique and special Cu Chi tunnels with Alice, who is an extremely knowledgable Chef, and tour guide. We first picked the ingredients for our class from the Organic garden, then a very detailed and hands on cooking class, the food was amazing, the stories incredible, and touring the garden and Mushroom cave, so interesting. The visit to the tunnel was very thought provoking and well set up with excellent displays of a very difficult time in Vietnams history. Again, Alice was extremely knowledgable, in the history. Alice and the helpers, and Chef Tan, were all friendly, hospitable, and although we have done other classes, this was the best by far. Thank you Chef Tan, Alice and the team, for a most wonderful experience in your beautiful Country. Plenty fo our photos on the School Cooking Facebook page.

          Tasty, special, and entertaining
Our class was with Alice who was very friendly, energetic and knowledgeable when we asked questions not just about the food, but about Vietnam in general. Everything we made tasted delicious. I look forward to making the dishes again as we were given the recipes.

My friend and I did an afternoon cooking class and it was amazing, we were the only 2 doing the class at that time so it was basically a private experience. The main reason we picked her is because of the halal option for me and they had their certificate on display. Our guide/chef was Alice. She was amazing and made the experience so great she explained stuff in detail, told us about the local history. It was hard to narrow the options but we both went for pho and it was very authentic, it shocked us how nice it was, this is thanks to Alice’s guidance. We would strongly recommend booking this as part of your experience they pick you up from the hotel and drop you off which is an added bonus! Alice also took the best pictures of us!

Quynh came to pick us up at the hotel right in time, at 7:30am. Luckily, we were the only people on the tour, so it was like a private tour. A nice clean car was waiting for us. The drive was about 1.5 hours to the farm in Cu Chi area. We caught up on some sleep after asking Quynh some basic questions about Vietnam.

At the farm, we were welcomed with some ice cold Shi So tea (of which, there was an endless supply). We then roamed through the farm and plucked some veggies. It was interesting to learn about the various varieties of plants at the farm and how they grew them. It was pretty similar to India, but there were some key variations. Oh, and we fed some giant cat fish!

The cooking class was great. Quynh helped us understand the basics of Vietnamese cooking with some easy-to-remember tricks. Like flavour happy family - man was the spice, woman was sweet and the child was little sweet, little spicy :)

We cooked 4 dishes including a dessert. My personal favourite was the chicken curry with coconut milk. My 8 year old boy also handled the gas and deep fried some spring rolls. But, Quynh was taking good care of him.

Then, we took a trip to the Cu Chi tunnel. I wont talk more about it since I don't want to give spoilers. I will say that it was eye opening and Quynh is a knowledgeable guide.

So, that's that! A super day. Thanks to Quynh. Her English is super good.

I feel so much more knowledgeable about Vietnamese cuisine and confident to cook the dishes after this tour. We really felt immersed in the process from picking the ingredients to putting everything together. Our guide Tien was very friendly and did an excellent job engaging us throughout the tour. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic experience in Vietnam!

And the cooking teacher,Tien She was so enthusiasm person about teaching. If I had another chance to take this class,I’ll go for it.

We were picked up at 7.30am by Alice, our guide and chef, with a driver. The trip took about an hour and a half, out into the country so we got to see some of the surroundings as well. When we got to the organic farm we went outside to learn about some of the plants that we were going to be cooking with. Headed back inside for local snacks before starting the cooking lessons. The lunch consisted of a four course meal which was tasty and even better-we had made it, guided by Alice, who was very helpful and patient with us.
After lunch-we drove 15 minutes to the Cu Chi tunnels for a guided and informative walk through the complex.

Our guide was Alice. She was so cheerful and bubbly throughout the entire trip. We learnt so much from her as she explained the usage and benefits of the various vegetation planted around the farm.

It was fun picking the vegetables fresh to be used for our cooking class.

The cooking itself was easy to follow. Everything was well-prepared and the space was clean. We had so much fun. And of course, the food cooked was delicious!

        Highly recommended!
