About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- HCovik0 contributions9 Day Private Azarbaijan and Georgia TourWe arranged our trip through Tourradar and Artunj, our tour manager did a great job communicating with us. Elvin was our very knowledgeable driver and guide during our stay in Azarbaijan. He proudly and thoroughly explained the local cultures, foods, religions and history to us. We enjoyed the contrast between old an new in Baku. The old city is interestng and very walkable and we particularly enjoyed the beautiful Carpet Museum and modern Haydar Aliyev Art Museum. The city has a strong connection with oil and is surrounded by oil refineries. As a matter of fact we visited the world's oldest commercial oil well right outside of Baku. A side trip to a mud volcano was quite an experience racing and bouncing over dirt roads in a Russian Lada. Another highlight was a sidetrip to Qobustan National Park and excellent Petroglyphs Rock Art Museum with Homo Sapiens and Neanderthal rock carvings. Some other visits were to historic Lahic village with quaint cobblestone streets and the ancient Atashgah Zoroastran Fire Temple. Sheki is an interesting and beautiful city in the Caucuses mountains. Especially interesting was our visit to the Stained Glass Workshop at the palace of the Sheki Khans. We loved our ride through the mountains to the mountain village of Kish with its very narrow streets to visit the ancient Albanian church. On our way to the Georgian border we stopped at the lovely. but smallish, Mamirli (mossy) waterfall, involving another exciting car ride along a rocky road/stream bed. Arriving at the Georgian border Elvin helpfully waited to make sure we made it accross. Once across we knew we arrived in the country were wine originated about 8000 years ago as our driver's first action was to drop us off at a winery for some wine tasting. This would not be our last opportunity. The city of Tiblisi reminded us of some southern European cities with its cobblestoned streets and balconies. The city feels very inviting and Nino our guide made us feel at home. She toured the city with us and shared her extensive knowledge of her country and was more than willing to answer all our questions as odd as they may have been. With Nino we visited a traditional bakery for some wonderful breads as well as Bodbe's St. Nino 's Convent Cathedral. After that to Sinaghi to walk the old city wall. And, of course, wine tasting and more wine tasting and, let's not forget the Chacha, the Georgian wine wodka akin to the Italian grappa. Georgian wines are very fresh and tasty both red and white and are made Georgian style (a process involving pressing whole grapes) or European style. Our last visit was to a family winery in a very beautiful setting for some more tasting and explaining of processes and special tools involved. In closing we want to thank our guides Elvin and Nina for sharing their knowledge and love for their cultures, language and history with us. Accommodations and their locations were very good. We especially loved the very fresh traditional foods. One important reminder though. Bring comfortable shoes. Both Elvin and Nino will be mindful of your mobility, but no matter, it will enhance your experiences. Lastly, we recommend Tourradar. We've used them before. Enjoy your travels.Written 5 October 2024
- garryd5760 contributionsExcellent service, highly recommended.Absolutely great service, the driver had a clear sign with my name on at the Arrivals gate and assisted with our luggage. As it was 3am, he wanted to ensure we were being dropped off at the correct address and telephoned our Airbnb host to confirm before taking us to the correct location - it wasn't easy as most of the main roads around Baku had been closed off for the Formula 1 race. He was very friendly and thankfully also had him to pick us up for our return journey to the airport at 3am. I strongly recommend their service, felt secure in the knowledge that they care for you regardless of the time of day 👍👍👍Written 21 September 2024

- mimiMexico_df0 contributionsGreat serviceNothing scares me more, than to arrive to a new Country, where I don’t speak their language…and english is not an option…. But there it was… a driver was sent to the airport to pick us up…. Huge relief… Next day we began touring.. we chose day one itinerary and for the next day, the 2nd itinerary…. For the third day, we had special requirements…. And they helped us every step of the trip… they were perfect… Farhad, was a great guide and driver… always on time, attentive, with helpful knowledge, great attitude and a big smile… We were able to enjoy our Azerbaijan’s stay… even when the last day, another driver was supposed to pick us up at 7 am and drive us to the airport… he wasn’t there… Just a message to Ertunc Artunj, and the problem was solved… he even booked a Taxi, cause the Formula 1 races preparation, closed several streets, so the appointed car wasn’t able to arrive. We could feel how worried he was with the delay, constantly checking us, telling us in advance, where did we have to check in… which we highly appreciate it, cause there weren’t any signs that could help us know where to queue! - nahmane0 contributionsAzerbaijan tourGreat tour of northern Azerbaijan. Farhed was a great tour guide. The Shaki tour was nice but a 4x4 trip can be added to the second dayWritten 7 September 2024
- Robyn M0 contributionsAzerbaijan Private TourBaku had excellent museums, I loved the Museum of Modern Art, great parks & statues to explore. In general monuments were well maintained as were the buildings . The Noble House Museum is worth booking a tour, great history in this home. Baku is a modern city with oil being drilled in the city today. It has great restaurants & wine friendly people which makes for a good experience. Out in the country I enjoyed seeing the mud volcanoes, Sheki city, waterfalls & it does have very different terrain as we travelled through the country on good roads. A oil rich country worth visiting.Written 4 September 2024
- KoalaBKK0 contributionsVery professional standardsWe enjoyed our 9 day Azerbaijan and Georgia trip. Artunj was so very helpful and fast with every question we had. The organisation was perfect and Elvin our Azerbaijan guide/driver was a lovely guy. Nino in Georgia was super informative and flexible with our itinerary. Highly recommend this trip to others.Written 4 September 2024
- JUShah0 contributionsGreat tour to see the best pieces of historyThe tour was good. Rovshen is a great guide and he was warm, friendly, and very accommodating. No complaints in the timings, the extended hours, and very calm and relaxed in ensuring that we completed the entire tour at ease with compassion all the way! Overall, a great experience and a must recommend.Written 19 August 2024
- farahh1190 contributionsExcellent service and tourThe trip was great. Our tour guide Farhad did an excellent job explaining all the details. He spoke English well, was professional and courteous. We had a slightly modified tour, as we started with Bibi Heybat, mud volcanoes, Qobustan- as we wanted the tour to be 4 hrs.Written 21 July 2024
- geet_trivedi0 contributionsThoroughly enjoyable 7-nights Azerbaijan tripA group of family friends, we opted for a customised 7-nights Azerbaijan trip through azerbaijanguide.az. Interestingly, I got to know about them (azerbaijanguide.az) through a random internet search. The reviews were positive and hence, gave me the confidence to engage with them and explore options. Artunj was the initial point of contact and he stayed connected right through. It took multiple rounds of interactions spanning across 2-3 weeks before we eventually finalised our itinerary and confirmed our plans. Credit to Artunj for staying committed during this period, responding to each and every query with all possible details. It was his attitude that gave me the confidence to proceed with them. From the time we landed in Baku, Artunj made it a point to meticulously track us. Our pick up from the Airport to the apartment in Baku was absolutely smooth and well planned. We had managed the Baku apartment booking ourselves, in consultation with Artunj....it was very professional of him to not push his choice on to us. Our guide from Day 2 till Day 7 was Elvin. He ferried us across in his well maintained Mercedes Benz vehicle, doubling up as a guide. A great personality and an extrovert, Elvin made it a point to make us feel special. As much as English is not common in Azerbaijan, Elvin was extremely comfortable in connecting with us in English. To top it, he had phenomenal knowledge of India, which made it very convenient and comfortable for us. Besides, Elvin is excellent when it comes to Azerbaijan history, local dynamics et al. Not to forget, very safe and skillful at driving. Our stay at Qabala was managed by Artunj. It was a very well maintained villa with necessary infrastructure and facilities. Two meals of the day (lunch and dinner) were managed by azerbaijanguide.az. What pleased us here was that Artunj was very accommodative on this front. We were a group of vegetarians and were quite particular about the exclusion list. Alongside, we did not want to limit ourselves to Indian food alone...we were keen to explore local food as well. It was here that Artunj and Elvin combined very well to come up with different choices. This was very important for us and thankfully, they did a great job on this front. Overall, we enjoyed the trip and the hospitality received from Artunj and Elvin. It was great to meet Artunj in person towards the end of our trip. Both were extremely polite, courteous and professional. Besides, Artunj was regular in seeking our feedback and, importantly, willing to make adjustments to ensure we were comfortable. That is the hallmark of good service in the Tourism sector. Strongly recommend anyone traveling to Azerbaijan to consider azerbaijanguide.azWritten 7 July 2024
- aeroboltz9740 contributionsBest views in Azerbaijan up the mountainsBest views you will get anywhere in Azerbaijan. The drive up to Xinaliq was the highlight of our trip. We travelled with out 3 months old infant and 3 years old son. Everything was smooth. Guide Farhad took us for this trip and he was excellent, very patient and accommodated all our needs. We had amazing Shah Pilaf at the restaurant Qecrecsh forest. We would come back to Azerbaijan again to do this trip, book without any doubt, you won't regret it.Written 29 May 2024
- aeroboltz9740 contributionsHistory, architecture and amazing viewsCommunication with Artunj for the tour was excellent. Guide Vasif was excellent, very patient and honest. We travelled with out 3 months old infant and 3 year old son. This tour covers history, architecture and culture. Best views of mountains and rivers on route Lahij. Shopping for handcrafts, tea and dried fruits was at a good price. Book this tour and experience it yourselves.Written 29 May 2024
- margaretsB1733SB0 contributionsA well organised trip, and we would thoroughly recommend Azerbaijan. We would recommend Azerbaijan, a very interesting country, breathtaking modern architecture (although some at the expense of previous buildings), wonderful deserted countryside. So much space and so clean. The tour guide was a young local man called Farhad, very proper and correct. Good safe driver. Nicely spoken English. He concentrated on the history of his country, both ancient and recent, very knowledgeable. (We should have asked him more about how it is now, which would have been interesting). When we went inland to Sheki for several days there was and had been heavy rain (May 2024), which prohibited us visiting various buildings, waterfalls, villages and sites of interest (Mamirli Waterfall, Sumuq Fortress, Lahic village) because the roads had been washed away. Unfortunately there was not enough planned to substitute these failed visits. The hotels were excellent, in Baku the 'Grand Hotel' a lovely classic hotel with spacious bedrooms, in Sheki a very well decorated hotel called 'Old Town', very pretty. The food was all good, all natural and tasty food, Farhad took us to a range of restaurants, and we tried all sorts of local cuisine. Not expensive, a bottle of wine 25 - 30 manat in the restaurants. A 2 course meal about 15 - 25 manat pp, fast food about 10 manat pp. (in May 2024 1 manat = 0.54 euros).Written 25 May 2024
- Lynn H0 contributionsWell organised and ran smoothlyWe reached out to Azerbaijanguide.az to help us in planning a private Caucasus tour that involved 3.5 days in Azerbaijan, 4.5 days in Georgia. Our positive experience started pre-trip with Artunj the tour manager, who was responsive and patient in answering all our questions promptly via WhatsApp and readily accommodated the changes we requested to the itinerary. A group chat was set up a few days before the trip to facilitate communication (and helped ensure that any questions/issues encountered during the trip were addressed quickly). We were given clear directions to meet our guide + driver at the designated spot within Baku airport. Rovshen the guide was very knowledgeable, rattling facts and figures on all the places we visited and even some we passed by along the way with ease. He was particularly passionate about Qobustan Rock Art and made the trip there a fun learning experience. For the next leg to Sheki, Farhad doubled up as our guide/driver and was just as knowledgeable and very professional (e.g., spoke good English and always punctual). The drive to Sheki was long but highly recommended; we very much enjoyed all the stops and scenic sights enroute and within Sheki itself that gave us a deeper understanding and appreciation of the beautiful culture of Azerbaijan. Farhad dropped us off at the Azerbaijan Lagodekhi border (note: at our time of visit in May 2024, the road is still closed off to vehicles). It is a fairly long walk across the border to Georgia on foot so be prepared to tow or carry your luggage across an inclined walkway for about 10 to 15 minutes depending on your pace. We were given clear details of the next meeting point past immigration and located our driver Ivane easily. While he didn’t speak much English, we got by with Google Translate. Ivane was primarily tasked with sending us to our hotel but went the extra mile by stopping enroute to show us a traditional shoti bakery and helping us locate a moneychanger with good rates to change USD to GEL, allowing us to experience the local Georgian hospitality right from our first day in. We did several day tours in Georgia, starting with a Tbilisi walking tour. Some places were closed due to the Orthodox Easter public holiday, but it was nonetheless a good introduction to the city sights and culture amidst the rainy weather. The wet weather persisted during the Kazbegi/Gudauri tour the next day, so unfortunately we only caught glimpses (and had to imagine) what would have been the scenic Caucasus mountains which were largely obscured by thick fog. Heard from other travelers that there was a landslide the following day and tours had to be cancelled/rescheduled, so it might be a good idea to do this tour within your first few days in Georgia just in case you need to change up your plans due to bad weather. We also went on the Kakheti wine region tour which includes stops to Bodhe Convent and Sighnaghi city. As the sun finally showed up, we had a great view of the city and clouds on the walk along the latter’s old city walls. This was also where we had lunch (tip: go for the optional sharing menu which includes wine - we chose to settle our own meal ala carte and the costs worked out to be almost the same). A special shoutout to Oki the guide for the day who was friendly, knowledgeable, and took great care (and photos) of the tour group. Our last day tour in Georgia was to Uplistsikhe, Gori and Mtskheta. The views were fantastic at Uplistsikhe cave town and we had ample time to explore the area as our entry tickets excluded wine tasting. Our time in Gori city felt a bit tighter as we opted to have a set lunch (a good selection of local Georgian fare) + visit to the Stalin museum (whose entrance fees were covered in our tour package). The alternative would have been to explore the city on your own during this time. David was the guide for this tour and gave clear instructions / sufficient time to explore the remaining two stops on tour. He showed us the best spots for photos at Jvari Monastery which requires a walk up a steep hill. At Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, we were briefed on its history before proceeding inside where all the notable spots / artworks were pointed out and explained. The tour was well paced and we managed to avoid rush hour on the return to Tbilisi, which gave more time to explore the city in the evening on our own. On hindsight, it would have been great to spend at least 1 to 2 more days in both countries but we were happy with how the tour turned out and enjoyed our time there.Written 22 May 2024
- O6371BYchiarag0 contributionsExcellent organization 🗺️Thanks to well organized days we had the opportunity to see and understand the Azerbaijan’s life and heritage. I really appreciate the day trip to khinalug that despite the long journey, really worth the hassle. Thanks to Artunj and all his staff!Written 7 May 2024
