About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 149leightont0 contributionsMagical Qriz. This was a magical experience that stands as the highlight of our two weeks in Azerbaijan. The village is wonderfully remote and really tricky to reach, the driver did a fabulous job of reaching it via a series of narrow rocky roads. Honestly, I don't know how he did it, incredibly skilful, careful and patient. Our guide Sabina was the perfect host and gave us plenty of insight into Azerbaijan and its culture throughout the day. Having tea and dinner in a villager's home is something you'll never forget, while the hike itself provides breathtaking views. As for the frozen waterfall, you're not gonna be disappointed, it is like something out of a fairytale. Check out my full write up on Leighton Travels dot com.Written 6 January 2025
- 149leightont0 contributionsFantastic private tour of the mud volcanoes, Gobustan petroglyphs, Fire Temple & Burning MountainMy wife and I took a private tour of the mud volcanoes, the Gobustan petroglyphs, the Fire Temple (Ateshgah) and Burning Mountain (Yanar Dag). Our guide Rajab and a driver picked us up from our apartment and safely took us from point to point providing detailed historic overviews of everything along the way. Rajab spoke very good English, was patient in letting us take our time and was super organised in making phone calls ahead of time to make sure that everything ran like clockwork. The sights themselves are spectacular and this private tour is surely so much better than being led around in a group. More time and more info tailored to our interests, a big thank you to Bag Baku!Written 16 December 2024
- lounad6130 contributionsGreat :)We loved our tour guide Shahriyar. He was kind, knowledgeable and fun. We felt safe and cared for. His taxi colleagues were also kind and welcoming. The gobustan petroglyphs visit was a bit crowded in some parts but very nice nonetheless. We enjoyed the back country drive to the mud volcanoes as well. Great tour! Thank you Shahriyar.Written 19 November 2024

- 947ilkak0 contributionsGreat hike with wonderful panorama and local foodA great experience. First day was unfortunately foggy but we awoke to beautiful weather in the next morning with wonderful panorama during the second day’s hike. The hike itself is varying and definitely a highlight for us who have hiked in the whole world. The food at the village people’s homes was excellent with lots of new tastes. We felt welcome at all the places we ate and slept. Our guide Sabina was great, she explained everything in excellent english and seemed to be friend with everyone in the mountain villages. The tour organization was well and detaljed. We highly recommend making this hike!Written 25 October 2024

- aditimarda0 contributionsMissed the mud volcano due to rains, avoid if there are rain predictions. Was a good experience to this tour. Missed the mud volcanos due to the rains, so avoid booking this tour if there is a rain predicted, bcoz they don’t refund the money in this case. Although the guide is good and professional. Better to look at the weather predictions for next few days before booking this tour.Written 9 May 2024
- dqsinh0 contributionsGreat hike! The hike was great! Even with the fog and snow, the mountain is still great! Sabina was a friendly and hospitable host, and the village people welcomed me warmly. The peak was hidden by clouds, which made me want to do this one day in summer.Written 10 April 2024
- 966vineethn0 contributionsBest team to explore hidden gems of Azerbaijan -10/10The trips with them has been very delightful. I have been part of several group tours. When I first moved to baku , their hiking tours gave me a opportunity of seeing all the places of azerbaijan , including the villages and the country sides ,moutains and forests , unseen waterfalls and snow mountains . They not only provided an oppurtunity to travel but also chance to meet and interact with like miinded people. They provided very cost effective trips and reasonable prices , which attracted the local crowd and foreigners equally well. The tour organisers spoke english quite well and had great organising skills. Over the years I have seen them improving the quality of tours. The travel insurances and the payments and pre-bookings facilities had improved. The one who runs the organisation , puts her heart in to making the travels and trips more satisfactory , and tries the best to get the most out of the trip for her clients , in terms of exploring and giving oppurtunity to interact with the local crowd. The owner herself had been a traveller and which is why they value the experiences and tries to deliver the same . Well organised , punctual , payments are clean, notifications are made promplty. Happy with their trips .Written 14 March 2024

- taxidiotissolo0 contributionsAmazing Hiking and Great hospitality by BagBaku - Highly recommended.Fantastic experience. I found this tour through their instagram page and contacted bag baku. They responded immediately and next thing i know is that i am in the most beautiful part of the Caucasian mountains. Firstly about the place and hiking - The place is something magical. the foggy weather made the hiking feel like i am having some magical experience. The hiking was fairly easy and it was worth spending a day out of the city life Secondly about Bagbaku - Their hospitality and attention to details made me feel so comfortable. The guide was so polite and so respectful. they were making sure that we have enough water, food with us before starting the hiking. They even took us to one of the houses in Xinaliq village and we had a very nice time interacting with the locals and had the tea and jam which they made. The guide was updating us about the weather forecast before the trip.Written 5 March 2024

Aga and bag Baku took us on this tour. It was informative and enjoyable; the mid volcanoes in particular are a crowd pleaser. Would recommend trying to cut down or even skip the museum to spend more time with the volcanoes. Aga was entertaining and enthusiastic and a fun guide. We would highly recommend - was good with kids too!

Perfectly on time, we started our trip at 10 a.m. with tour guide Nigar and safe driver Elvin (called 'Elvis'). Nigar is a very lively, fun person, who broke the ice with our 9 year old in the first view minutes. Traffic jams were sweetened up with chocolate treats and music of our choice. Combining all four great spots into one tour/one day, was intense (traffic in Baku is a factor), two days might be a better option for others. PS: Nigar loves to take pix and videos ;-)

It's was a great informative tour. We get pickedup from the hotel. Also, because it was our first visit to Azerbaijan. Our guide Valeh was friendly and helpful for the entire trip he welcomed us to Azerbaijan and talked about the history of Azerbaijan as a whole and history of Baku, He was kind to tell us alot of helpful tips in staying in Azerbaijan. We first went to Gobustan Museum to see the meaning of the engravings through time, and then we walked to the caves in the mountains which contained historic engravings. Next we went to the fire temple were we walked throughout the rooms each has it own historic meaning. And ended with Gobustan mud volcano which looks cool as the small volcanos are slowly erupting with bobbles. We the dropped off in our hotel safe and sound. We really enjoyed our tour and thanks to our guide Valeh which was patient and kind with us.
I recommend everyone to get in this tour.

The tour leader Valah is a specialist in history and archeology with a university degree. The man is rich in historical information that my wife and I benefited from. He explained the history of Baku before Christ and how to understand the Stone Age drawings, as he showed us the permanent source of fire in the mountain millions of years ago, during a temple tour. Here I tip my hat to him, as he explained to us information that you will not see through YouTube, in addition to all this, he gave me an extra tour of the famous Nizami Street in Baku, I highly recommend joining him

David was a great guide. I booked a solo trip in order to spend more time to explore and take photos rather than be shown around as part of a group. He was very patient with me and the trip was very memorable as a result!

We had a wonderful experience. Our guide Valeh was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave a good background of the historical places we visited and was kind enough to take our pictures. He even took a detour to the beach as we wanted to take some pictures there.

If you are on holiday in Baku, even just for a weekend, don't miss this excursion! In just one day you can visit the valley of mud volcanoes, the petroglyphs of Qobustan, the burning mountain and the fire temple. Scenarios and panoramas that make us understand why Azerbajan is nicknamed The Land of Fire!
