About
Gobustan National Museum and Open Air Rock Art Museum - It is historical ancient place which included to the UNESCO Heritage list. Gobustan is very rich with archaeological monuments. Mud Vulcanos - Nearby to Gobustan we will travel to see Mud Vulcanos. The unique Ateshgah Fire Temple - is one of Azerbaijan’s most remarkable sight. According to historical sources, before the construction of the Indian Temple Of Fire in Surakhani at the end of the 17th, the local people also worshiped at this site because of the “seven holes with burning flame”. Yanar Dag (Fire Mountain) - Yanar Dag is a natural gas fire which blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan (a country which itself is known as "the Land of Fire"). Flames jet into the air 3 metres (9.8 ft) from a thin, porous sandstone layer.

Best views in Azerbaijan up the mountains
Best views you will get anywhere in Azerbaijan. The drive up to Xinaliq was the highlight of our trip. We travelled with out 3 months old infant and 3 years old son. Everything was smooth. Guide Farhad took us for this trip and he was excellent, very patient and accommodated all our needs. We had amazing Shah Pilaf at the restaurant Qecrecsh forest. We would come back to Azerbaijan again to do this trip, book without any doubt, you won't regret it.

          History, architecture and amazing views
Communication with Artunj for the tour was excellent. Guide Vasif was excellent, very patient and honest. We travelled with out 3 months old infant and 3 year old son. This tour covers history, architecture and culture. Best views of mountains and rivers on route Lahij. Shopping for handcrafts, tea and dried fruits was at a good price. Book this tour and experience it yourselves.

A well organised trip, and we would thoroughly recommend Azerbaijan.
We would recommend Azerbaijan, a very interesting country, breathtaking modern architecture (although some at the expense of previous buildings), wonderful deserted countryside. So much space and so clean. The tour guide was a young local man called Farhad, very proper and correct. Good safe driver. Nicely spoken English. He concentrated on the history of his country, both ancient and recent, very knowledgeable. (We should have asked him more about how it is now, which would have been interesting). When we went inland to Sheki for several days there was and had been heavy rain (May 2024), which prohibited us visiting various buildings, waterfalls, villages and sites of interest (Mamirli Waterfall, Sumuq Fortress, Lahic village) because the roads had been washed away. Unfortunately there was not enough planned to substitute these failed visits. The hotels were excellent, in Baku the 'Grand Hotel' a lovely classic hotel with spacious bedrooms, in Sheki a very well decorated hotel called 'Old Town', very pretty. The food was all good, all natural and tasty food, Farhad took us to a range of restaurants, and we tried all sorts of local cuisine. Not expensive, a bottle of wine 25 - 30 manat in the restaurants. A 2 course meal about 15 - 25 manat pp, fast food about 10 manat pp. (in May 2024 1 manat = 0.54 euros).

          Well organised and ran smoothly
We reached out to Azerbaijanguide.az to help us in planning a private Caucasus tour that involved 3.5 days in Azerbaijan, 4.5 days in Georgia. Our positive experience started pre-trip with Artunj the tour manager, who was responsive and patient in answering all our questions promptly via WhatsApp and readily accommodated the changes we requested to the itinerary. A group chat was set up a few days before the trip to facilitate communication (and helped ensure that any questions/issues encountered during the trip were addressed quickly). We were given clear directions to meet our guide + driver at the designated spot within Baku airport. Rovshen the guide was very knowledgeable, rattling facts and figures on all the places we visited and even some we passed by along the way with ease. He was particularly passionate about Qobustan Rock Art and made the trip there a fun learning experience. For the next leg to Sheki, Farhad doubled up as our guide/driver and was just as knowledgeable and very professional (e.g., spoke good English and always punctual). The drive to Sheki was long but highly recommended; we very much enjoyed all the stops and scenic sights enroute and within Sheki itself that gave us a deeper understanding and appreciation of the beautiful culture of Azerbaijan. Farhad dropped us off at the Azerbaijan Lagodekhi border (note: at our time of visit in May 2024, the road is still closed off to vehicles). It is a fairly long walk across the border to Georgia on foot so be prepared to tow or carry your luggage across an inclined walkway for about 10 to 15 minutes depending on your pace. We were given clear details of the next meeting point past immigration and located our driver Ivane easily. While he didn’t speak much English, we got by with Google Translate. Ivane was primarily tasked with sending us to our hotel but went the extra mile by stopping enroute to show us a traditional shoti bakery and helping us locate a moneychanger with good rates to change USD to GEL, allowing us to experience the local Georgian hospitality right from our first day in. We did several day tours in Georgia, starting with a Tbilisi walking tour. Some places were closed due to the Orthodox Easter public holiday, but it was nonetheless a good introduction to the city sights and culture amidst the rainy weather. The wet weather persisted during the Kazbegi/Gudauri tour the next day, so unfortunately we only caught glimpses (and had to imagine) what would have been the scenic Caucasus mountains which were largely obscured by thick fog. Heard from other travelers that there was a landslide the following day and tours had to be cancelled/rescheduled, so it might be a good idea to do this tour within your first few days in Georgia just in case you need to change up your plans due to bad weather. We also went on the Kakheti wine region tour which includes stops to Bodhe Convent and Sighnaghi city. As the sun finally showed up, we had a great view of the city and clouds on the walk along the latter’s old city walls. This was also where we had lunch (tip: go for the optional sharing menu which includes wine - we chose to settle our own meal ala carte and the costs worked out to be almost the same). A special shoutout to Oki the guide for the day who was friendly, knowledgeable, and took great care (and photos) of the tour group. Our last day tour in Georgia was to Uplistsikhe, Gori and Mtskheta. The views were fantastic at Uplistsikhe cave town and we had ample time to explore the area as our entry tickets excluded wine tasting. Our time in Gori city felt a bit tighter as we opted to have a set lunch (a good selection of local Georgian fare) + visit to the Stalin museum (whose entrance fees were covered in our tour package). The alternative would have been to explore the city on your own during this time. David was the guide for this tour and gave clear instructions / sufficient time to explore the remaining two stops on tour. He showed us the best spots for photos at Jvari Monastery which requires a walk up a steep hill. At Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, we were briefed on its history before proceeding inside where all the notable spots / artworks were pointed out and explained. The tour was well paced and we managed to avoid rush hour on the return to Tbilisi, which gave more time to explore the city in the evening on our own. On hindsight, it would have been great to spend at least 1 to 2 more days in both countries but we were happy with how the tour turned out and enjoyed our time there.

Getting to know Azerbaijan and Georgia
An interesting travel organised by Artunj. We had a good experience of Azerbaijan and Georgian history/ Culture. Such an enlightening experience. Our guide in Azerbaijan, Mr Farhad was pleasant and accommodating. Thank you for the hospitality. Our guide in Georgia was Mr George. Also a soft spoken and knowledgeable person. The meals were Halal and good. We highly recommend others. Note. The only hassle was at the border crossing Azerbaijan to Georgia. Be prepared for a long walk.

We went in Baku for a 3 days trip: it was a beautiful experience, the guides were very prepared, punctual and precise. They were able to explaine lot of uncommon things, Rovshan is a guarantee and you laugh a lot! You can particularly trust Artunj if you have to surprise a friend during your journey! Thanks Artunj, Rovshan and Vasif for making our experience wonderful!

          Amazing journey!
Loved every bit of the trip. The organization by Ertunc was great. And I had a lot of strange and changing request as I'm someone who looks for weird things. Some of my requests were also very last minute. But everything worked out. If I may suggest something to potential customers: when you go to Sheki ask Ertunc to book a room in the Karavansaray. If you don't expect a five star hotel standard, staying there will be the most memorable experience. Also take a plunge in crude oil in Naftalan. Ertunc and his people will make everything happen. Can't give less than 5 out of 5 for this company.

          Great trip!
It was a wonderful experience with my knowledgeable driver Farhad - who also speaks very good English. Nice to walk around in Lahic without tourist ( there will be a lot more in summer!) - nice lunch by the river afterwards ! Apart from looking at the mosque and the mausoleum in Shamakhi , we also stopped at a winery, where I could try some of the excellent wines!
