Decent and expensive tour, couldn’t see many animals in the wild
Decent but expensive tour. I came for the 3D2N Sundarbans tour, which was advertised as $300 for double occupancy and $510 for single occupancy. Jafar also booked a business class bus from Dhaka airport to Khulna bus station for $60, which was expensive but manageble because it included a 1 hour car ride from DAC to the bus station, then a business class bus ticket valued at $12 (bookable from shohoz). As explained in the program, the exact itinerary is subject to change, which it did — we skipped the night safari which I was looking forward to. The Sundarbans itself was fairly boring, 3 days of seeing nothing but mangrove trees, the river, and no wildlife. I wasn’t able to see any animals besides the ones in cages at the “wildlife sanctuary” which was more like a small zoo. The guide and staff operated with limited English but were extremely gracious, accommodating, and helpful with personal service. The food was probably the best part of the tour — they feed you with 3 full meals a day and 2 smaller snacks. The meals were delicious and tended to be on the spicier side. The only bad thing experienced was at the end of the tour when everyone repeatedly begged me for tips, which is required of course but their delivery could have been improved. Overall worth a shot if you are coming to Bangladesh, but on the pricier side, especially for solo travelers.

          Fantastic Tour !
Completed a City Tour of Dhaka with Taabu Tours and my guide Ms. Poddo. It was an excellent tour with an excellent guide ! Ms. Poddo was very knowledgeable and professional. We visited all the highlights of Dhaka, and Ms. Poddo was very accommodating, allowing me to add some additional stops. She was also very patient, always willing to stop and answer questions or take additional photos. Highly recommend Ms. Poddo and Taabu Tours ! Rod A.

I took two tours with Jafar: one to Old Dhaka, and one to Sonargaon. Both were excellent, and gave me a local perspective on the city and the country. Jafar is incredibly patient and knowledgeable, and I quickly realized his passion is showing visitors the colorful aspects of the place. We saw markets, palaces, shipyards, museums, and even took an excursion to an island to see the more rural ways of life. You won’t regret getting to experience Dhaka with this company!

          Fantastic private tour of Bangladesh
We recently organised an 8 day Bangladesh tour with Jafer. He was also our guide for 3 days in and around Dhaka, Old Dhaka, Sonargaon (the old capital) and from Khulna to Dhaka. The organisation of the tour from pick up to the drop off at the airport was outstanding. He consulted with us prior to arrival about all aspects of the itinerary and accommodation and was very accommodating and flexible. Everything ran smoothly. Jafer is incredibly articulate, knowledgeable, passionate witty and fun. An easy guy to spend time with. He is very interested in developing local sustainable tourism, in Bangladesh, including in his, and other local villages. We learned so much from him. We miss him already. Bangladesh really is an unexplored tourist destination and tourism is in its infancy and organising a tour is by far and away the best way of seeing and appreciating the country. Tourists as such are treated very warmly and hospitably and the local population is very curious in a delightful way. We must be in hundreds of selfies! The highlights for us were: 1. The chaos and fun of chock a' block Dhaka and its 22 million people, 2. The trip on the overnight boat to Barishal and cruising the Backwaters. 3. Seeking the elusive Bengal tiger in the mangrove forests of the Sundarbans while staying at an eco resort there. Also seeing, the Otter fisherman of Khulna. If you are planning on visiting this amazing country look no further than Jafer and Taabu Tours. We feel privileged to have learned about this amazing country through him and to have had such a fantastic, enjoyable and unforgettable tour. We hope to return one day to see more of Bangladesh and to visit Jafer's village.

          Awesome Bangladesh Trip with Jafar
Communication prior to the visit was fast and seamless with Jafar. Pickup at the airport was smooth and we did a 3 days tour with them. Visited Dhaka, Barishal and Sonargaon with the company and it was a great experience. Jafar was very attentive to our needs and was an awesome driver to navigate the chaotic traffic in Bangladesh and introduced us to clean and delicious Bangladeshi food. He showed us the real Bangladesh local life by bringing us to villages and a brick factory where you can see the daily lives of children and worker going about their day. It opened up our perspectives as it was really a tough and back breaking work but they still remain extremely friendly and positive in life. The Bangladeshi people are always smiling brightly and their positive outlook in life despite tough conditions, is truly admirable! Our travel experience in Bangladesh is extremely safe and fun thanks to our awesome guide Jafar! He also supports his local village brick factory children by providing a schooling opportunity for them. In a way you are doing something good for the local community by choosing them instead of other bigger tour companies. Highly recommended!

Great guide and glimpse into Bangladesh
Awesome tour with company owner Jaffar. Had a private guided tour for a week. Very accommodating to my preferences and last minute changes to my tour. He’s very personable and his English is fantastic. Loved Dhaka shipyards where you can get up close and personal to the ships and the workers. Also enjoyed visit to his home village and self designed house. He kept me safe and healthy. A great tour all around for a destination which should be getting far more tourists.

          Lovely day
We went with our guide Jafar to the Old capital and Sonargaon, wonderful place to visit. Then to island and we were lucky to actually chat in the school with the kids and principal. The houses are so beautiful and feels full with weird huge cucumbers :). We saw nice fresh catch (huge river fishes) and so many other things. Great day. Jafar took us to the brick factory, such a hard work. He is very efficient young man to try to make the life of the kids (of the parents working in the factory) better & get good education. Applause to him & his team.

          Dhaka - Sundarbans - Bagerhat - Paharpur - Dhaka
In December 2022 I made a round trip through Bangladesh through or with Taabu Tour. Stations: Dhaka - Sundarbans - Bagerhat - Paharpur - Mahasthangarh - Dhaka.   First of all about Bangladesh: Bangladesh is definitely worth a trip! The Sundarbans are the largest mangrove forests, protected by several wildlife sanctuaries and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For three days we sailed through this unique landscape by ship, experienced the special flora and fauna, even went to sea on the way to the island of Dublar Char. Bagerhat and Paharpur are important and very worth seeing archaeological sites and monuments, also protected as World Heritage by UNESCO. Finally, Dhaka, with over 17 million inhabitants, one of the largest cities in the world, impresses with its originality, its cultural diversity and urban landscape that has largely been untouched by western tourists.   To organize the trip: I contacted several tour operators. Tabuu Tour proved to be uncomplicated in terms of communication right from the start. All my questions were answered promptly, particularly impressive: Mr. Jafar from Tabuu Tour always focuses on the wishes of his customers! It does not work? There isn't! Even when I was unable to take the planned and already booked cruise through the Sundarbans at short notice, he was able to offer me an alternative date immediately. Because overland trips or longer distances can also be covered at night if necessary, optimal time management is guaranteed, even if you only have a few days available for your trip. In addition, the price-performance ratio at Taabu Tour is unbeatable. I experienced Mr. Jafar himself as a very friendly and extremely helpful tourism expert. With him, problems become solutions. Class!

Live Like a Local - Taabu Ekduaria
We are just fresh back home after a week at Taabu Ekduaria... what a unique experience! We are keen travellers, always seeking authentic adventures and were extremely enthusiastic, upon our first visit to Bangladesh, to have the opportunity to 'live like a local', we were not disappointed and have to say that the experience was beyond our expectations. Our days were filled with activities such as learning to cook typical dishes, fishing in the local pond, learning to play cricket and Carrom (board game), milking a cow, planting rice, picking fresh vegetables from the family's farm, visiting the local markets to shop and also to sit, in the evening, with the locals to enjoy a hot chai (tea) while taking in a Bangladeshi film on the TV and munching on spicy puffed rice. Our room, with private bathroom, was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this experience for those looking for a truly authentic rural experience, this is not about ticking boxes or following a schedule, this is about going with the flow, getting to know the people who live in the village and how their daily lives are lived. We felt very much part of the family and were sad to say goodbye to Jafar and his mother, along with many other relatives and friends we met over these last days.

Terrific 5-day private tour of Bangladesh!
Because I found myself so short on time in Bangladesh and my travel dates landed on the most important holiday in Bangladesh (Victory Day), I organized a private 5-day tour in Bangladesh through local operator on the ground called Taabu Tour. My local guide/point of contact throughout was a gentleman named Jafar. Overall, my tour was fantastic! I started my tour by visiting the sights of Dhaka (Old Dhaka, Lalbagh Fort, several mosques, the Armenian church, the local markets, and we made our way by paddle boat to the Dhaka Shipyard). It was a full day of sightseeing, with a variety of local transports used throughout so I got to experience Dhaka as a true local! I went by overnight bus to Khulna, where I would join a 2N/3D houseboat tour in Sundarbans National Park! It was great fun and I saw lots of amazing wildlife including spotted deer, crocodiles, alligators and many mischievous monkeys! My itinerary then had me take an overnight train to Joypurhat, and then the next day was spent independently exploring the beautiful Ruins of the Buddhist Vihara at Paharpur. My final night train would take me back from Joypurhat to Dhaka Railway Station to make my onwards flight. Jafar made sure all of my dietary preferences were met onboard the Sundarbans vessel, and went above and beyond in ensuring my meals were adequate! Jafar organized all of my transfers and bus/train tickets with fluidity. All transfers were on time and seamless! Trains and buses were slightly delayed always, but I knew this going into Bangladesh and so had accounted for any delays! There was only one issue with securing a train ticket due to the public holiday in Bangladesh; however this was resolved rapidly with professionalism and many apologies. In fact, Jafar went out of his way to correct the misunderstanding and that went a long way in making my trip such a positive one! I am thankful for his generosity and quick thinking to resolving the matter at hand, as it demonstrates that the companies truly are client-oriented. I feel Jafar just wants the best possible trip/experience for tourists and this was demonstrated in communication, understanding and action! So thank you for that. Overall, my tour was fantastic! I have to thank Taabu Tour and Jafar for making my time spent in Bangladesh so memorable and special. I left with many beautiful photos and fond memories of all of the kind, warm hearted Bangladeshi I met over my short tour. If ever I find myself back in Bangladesh, or the region more generally, surely I will book with this company again, with hopes of being paired with the same guide! Thank you so much for everything! I look forward to seeing you again in the future in Bangladesh or another country!

          A Great day with Jafar
It was a great day in Old capital of Bangladesh. The boat trip to a river island and visiting a manual brick factory was a bonus. My guide Jafar was very informative and keen to help. He even helped me arranging some train tickets. This tour with Jafar is definitely recommended.

          Awesome tour!
We had a super tour with Jafar, seeing Sonargaon, Panam and a fishing village that we got to via the Meghna river. The guide was really friendly and informative, and was happy to answer all our questions about the sites and about culture / life in Bangladesh, and offered to stop at extra places if we were interested. Recommend to anyone visiting the country!!!

I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in exploring Dhaka (old and new) and learning about the history of Bangladesh. Dhaka is a very chaotic city, and you really need an experienced tour guide to see the sites. Rabbi was my guide and he was excellent - very knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. It was a long tour but well worth it; I feel like I really got to know the city in just one day and I learned so much along the way! It was an adventure, and one I will remember for sometime.

We had real great time on our tour! We were first timers to Bangladesh so we did the tour our first day there. This worked out great because we saw so much and knew what we wanted to do the rest of the days in this country! The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. Our driver was one of the most expert driver we have ever seen. I think this was an excellent choice to do the tour on our first day. Would highly recommend this tour!!!

I actually did more than the Dhaka tour with them. I also did the Sonargaon tour in the Dhaka area. I recommend both most highly. The ship breaking yard is more interesting than you might think, but all of the tour is great. Dhaka would be a bit too much to do on your own. Jafar and his assistants were a great help. There were some changes forced on my trip to Barisal and Bagarhat (ships were cancelled) and Jafar was able to fix everything up in a few hours and I was able to do everything that had been on the itinerary (except launches). I was very happy with Jafar and his two assistants who also guided us around.

A colleague and I were in Dhaka for business and decided to book a tour on the weekend. We are so glad that we went with Jafar and Taabu Tours. We saw the fascinating local people and cultural side of Dhaka that we never would have managed or planned on our own. The itinerary was well-planned and Jafar was very knowledgeable. From the bustling produce bazaar to the old city, the many mosques and historic buildings, to the shipyards, everything was super interesting (and a photographer’s dream come true). Jafar was also flexible and accommodating if we did or didn’t want to do or see something, or if we wanted to add to our tour.

I enjoyed two amazing days in Dhaka and was happy to have Jafar as my guide! In addition to some interesting tourist attractions, he also showed me some places where I got to know the "real and hard life" of this city. The tour is a great opportunity to get a taste of Dhaka. I am happy about this experience and definitely recommend the tour!

Jafar did a fine job with this day-long tour. He paced it a bit slowly, but by the time we got to the dock yards, did the boat crossings, etc. - it was appropriate to my needs. Today (May 1st) is Labor Day for much of the world, so museums, etc. were closed, but the traffic was also light and I had a most enjoyable day. Transportation included private car (mostly), Rickshaw and small boat.

I had an amazing day tour of Dhaka city, including old city, shipyard, Sonargaon areas including a boat trip to the Naul Chor island on the Meghna river. My guide, Jafar was professional, extremely knowledgeable and willing to customize the tour based on my preference for market visits, boat rides, mosques and a local village experience.
Due to Jafar’s flexibility and local knowledge we were able to cover a lot of ground in one day while not feeling rushed. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Dhaka!

We went on the Dhaka City Tour with our guide, Shahriar, on our first full day in Bangladesh. We loved the experience! We chose to use all local transportation (walking, bus, double decker bus, bicycle rickshaw, motorized tuk tuk and a variety of boats). We loved walking through the fish market, vegetable market and spice market - noise, people, items for sale. We saw so much and heard so much and discovered New Dhaka and Old Dhaka! Our guide, Shahriar, was patient, kind and informative. We really enjoyed walking down 'Hindu' street - marigolds, fresh honey, and learned about wedding bracelets made from conch shells. We explored Dhaka with our eyes, ears, nose, hands and taste. A truly amazing day for learning and experiences!

We had a fantastic time discovering the old Dhaka with Jafar! He’s really knowledgeable, friendly and flexible (and also very brave when it comes to crossing the streets, but I guess it’s because he’s used to used :)). It was a fully packed itinerary but despite the traffic we managed to see everything in time thanks to his perfect organisation.
