About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- adamf1780 contributionsA great way to experience local Phnom Penh evening diningWe love food and couldn't have been happier to book with Lost Plate to see a different side of Phnom Penh than would have been possible on our own. We enjoyed the tour so much that we booked two more with them in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap (all were 5* and a highlight of our Cambodia trip). On both the evening and the morning tours, we visited a number of great local places to try different foods and came away having eaten nothing but delicious dishes and feeling more than full!Written 25 November 2024
- 159imaans0 contributionsDefinitely go!Absolutely amazing food tour!! Got to experience authentic Cambodian cuisine. But our tour guide Sun Veasna is who made it really special - he was so knowledgeable about the food and taught us a lot about Cambodia in general. Will always remember this experience. Definitely recommend.Written 20 November 2024
- priyaj9270 contributionsPhenom Penh!We had a fantastic time on our evening food tour of Phnom Penh. Our guide, Sun Veasna, was amazing throughout and went above and beyond to ensure our experience was its best. We were able to try some fantastic food and, thanks to our guide, were able to learn the history and cultural significance of what we were eating. We would absolutely recommend the tour!Written 20 November 2024
- andrewmann30 contributionsA great evening outFantastic, informative, interesting, tasty tour , Lee and the driver were excellent. We both enjoy sampling different foods and it was a great way to start our holiday I'm CambodiaWritten 10 November 2024
- AlexandraBarrera250 contributionsGreat mix of Cambodian flavorsThe food tour offered an impressive and well-curated selection, showcasing a diverse range of culinary experiences. From authentic street food spots to restaurants popular with the expat community, each stop reflected thoughtful variety and a comprehensive taste of the local food scene.Written 7 November 2024
- KonWagner0 contributionsGreat experience of Cambodian food cultureIt was an amazing insight in Cambodian food culture. The hidden rooftop bar at the end was also a highlight. Veasna did a great job and gave us lots of background. Especially with his personal experience. He also took great care of my peanut allergy and even changed the dish for me at one place.Written 31 October 2024
- E5079IJjonathanc0 contributionsA Culinary Tour and Much MoreGreat your!! Our guide Veasna was amazing -,knowledgeable, professional, kind and with an excellent command of English. Veasna has an easy going style and was comfortable discussing topics beyond Cambodian cuisine. Highly recommend!!Written 25 October 2024
- MatShep770 contributionsA Delicious Taste Of Phnom PenhThis was a fun and informative tour of Phnom Penh’s culinary scene with lots of tasty Khmer cuisine along the way. The variety of foods were a great mix of traditional and modern while the venues ranged from ‘locals-only’ (but very friendly!) to trendy urban spots. The food was explained well with notes on the recipes, history and cultural significance of each dish and snack. Lee was a great guide and made the evening a lot of fun. Highly recommended!Written 23 October 2024
- G6051XLgabriellec0 contributionsNew foods, new favorites.Very good, as always. This is my 7th or 8th tour with Lost Plate. I've done several in China and several in Cambodia. I've enjoyed them all. This is my second go round with this tour. The first time, Phnom Penh was just coming out of Covid restrictions. This time, a friend who'd done a couple of Lost Plate tours with me in China came for a visit, so we took the tour. It was wonderful. I've been living in Phnom Penh for a few years now. On this tour, we visited places I've never been before and even had dishes I've never had before. We will definitely be revisiting each stop, a couple of which I've been before, but where I tried new items I've never had. Lost Plate is always good about choosing authentic restaurants popular with locals, supporting local entrepreneurs/restauranteurs, and offering dishes that are not so "out there" that they are intimidating to people who are only mildly adventurous eaters. (In other words, we didn't eat any bugs, etc.) That's one of the things I love about them. They choose places you would go to again and again, not just the one time for novelty's sake. We also loved our guide, Boram. He was very knowledgeable, had a quick wit, and an interesting personal story. He was very professional and warm and personable at the same time. Our driver was also very attentive. We plan to do the morning food tour of Phnom Penh in the upcoming weeks. We love Khmer breakfast foods, but we expect to find some new dishes and places to get them. I find that a food tour is always an excellent introduction to a new place, and if you are coming to Phnom Penh for a visit, Lost Plate is an excellent choice for a food tour. If you live here and want a fun evening out, Lost Plate offers that. If you are intimidated about where, how, and what Khmer food to order, this tour can open the door for you.Written 21 October 2024

- O9857CWjacobs0 contributionsExcellent tour would highly recommend.Food was incredible and Lee our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and outgoing. We got some really interesting history on the dishes we tried and on Cambodia and its people. Cold beer was provided at and in between all 6 stops and it was a great opportunity to see the city and get a brief glimpse of the real cuisine and culture of Cambodia. 10/10 would highly recommend. The food was so good we've gone back today for seconds at one of the restaurants we visited.Written 4 October 2024

- chheanr20240 contributionsAmizing TourThe tour was so much fun and we highly recommended it. We have seen the realities of the lives of Cambodians living in Phnom Penh. We travel around with a tuk tuk to taste local food and visit local market. The good thing is we met our great guide, Boram is friendly and full of smiles, he shared his knowledge about food, herbs and local life and was able to asnwer all the questions we asked. The locals are very welcome with big smile. We are very pleased with their referral company.Written 12 August 2024
- brigittew7680 contributionsAmazing food tourI booked this tour for my first evening in Phnom Penh. It’s a perfect kickoff to explore the city by Tuk Tuk. Boram was a great host - informative, personable and good fun. He explained a lot about the food, herbs, edible flowers and their preparation. Such a great way to experience some tasty local Cambodian food which you’d never find by yourself. Loved the curries and the frog! The pandan rice ball with brown sugar and coconut was delicious too! Highly recommend this tour.Written 10 August 2024
- W9376UMmarkc0 contributionsExcellent TourLee was fantastic from the very beginning when he met us in the foyer of our hotel. Very engaging and friendly throughout the whole night He made us feel welcome and encouraged us to try lots of different kinds of foods The tour was very well organised arriving at restaurants where we already had a table set aside and the dishes were quick to come out All the food was fantastic He made our first night in Cambodia very memorable We would highly recommend the tour (and Lee) to others thinking about doing itWritten 10 August 2024

Naera was our guide and she was absolutely brilliant! She picked me up from my hotel on my first day in Phnom Penh in a tuk tuk and took us to hidden gems all around the city, tasting so many different dishes. I'm glad I heeded advice in reviews I had read and didn't have breakfast. the food was delicious and Naera is clearly incredibly passionate about Cambodian food. We went to places that I never would have found (let alone tried) if I wasn't on her tour. Such a fantastic morning! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Phnom Penh. My only regret is that I didn't have time to do the night tour as well.

Awesome morning out sampling food and drinks at authentic / locals food places.
The locals, our tuktuk drivers and team guide Meara⭐️ were so friendly and inviting no one felt out of place.
We even had some locals wanting to know about us as this tour is not on the main routes.
Enjoy any walks in between your eats so you can try and fit in your next course!

Best food tour I’ve ever done. Our guide was Vichea and he was the most friendly, fun and knowledgeable guide we’ve had. We tasted 9 different dishes and left with full stomachs and so much knowledge about Cambodian food and culture. Vichea made everyone feel welcome, shared anecdotes about his life and taught us the history of what we were eating. I also loved riding in the tuktuk through the streets of Phnom Penh and drinking cold Cambodia beer. I can’t recommend this highly enough!

Starting off the fresh morning with a food tour was such a delightful experience that really set the tone for my day. Exploring the vibrant streets of Phnom Penh and immersing myself in the bustling energy of the local market was truly captivating. Our amiable tour guide, Boram, took the time to intricately showcase and narrate the vivid details of the local culinary delights, shedding light on the most beloved dishes of the area. Don't miss this tour! I highly recommend it to all of you.

Great tour! Boram was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Food was delicious, especially the fried pork and the “secret” specialty coffee to end the tour. Highly recommend, especially early in your time in Cambodia to familiarize yourself with local fare. Thanks Boram!

We used this service twice, first for the Evening Tour and then for the Morning Tour. For both, our guide was Neara, and I have to say she is one of the kindest people I have ever met in my life. And probably one of the people who left the biggest impression on my stay in Cambodia.
Neara was considerate, curious, and attentive to our needs. She had a special connection with the families and merchants we met, so in addition to learning more about the local food, we also got to know the lives of some of the people we dined with, which gave an incredibly authentic touch to our stay.
The food offered is suitable for all taste buds (for the Evening Tour, we were accompanied by an American couple who were there with their two sons, aged 5 and 9, and they were able to eat everything without any problems!), even for those who don't like spicy or greasy food.
Attention: don't eat anything before the tour and make sure not to have a heavy meal the night before! Because you will really eat a lot during the tour!
This is an experience that I recommend to everyone visiting Cambodia and Phnom Penh. And above all, thanks again to Neara for making this moment so incredible!

I decided to do this tour for my birthday while in Phnom Penh and what a great decision it was. I can’t say enough just how hospitable my tour guide Neara and tuk tuk driver were. She remembered every detail and even planned for a surprise birthday cake at the end of the tour. I’ve heard Cambodia is lovely and the people are some of the most hospitable but this surpassed expectation. Neara is very knowledgeable and so kind to her community. She stopped by and greeted everyone along the way and ensured every vendor was taken care of. You can tell she truly loves and values her for her community. Anyway, every single
Meal on the tour was just so good. So happy to have spent my birthday doing this and with your team. Lovely experience.

Our guide, Neara, was excellent. She speaks excellent English and really knew the vendors, and provided good background info on the various foods. The stops were interesting, and provided more than we could really eat. We especially enjoyed the walk through the local market. Plenty of opportunities for pictures.
