About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 583nancyw0 contributionsDon't miss this tour!I would give this tour by Urban Forage a rating of 10 if I could! Jackson, the guide, was outstanding. And Mr. Lucky our driver was charming. We started at a local market (not the central or Russian markets) and had breakfast #1. The market was incredible, with your standard food vendors to hair salons and even a fortune teller. We then rode to several alleyways with street art. And Jackson's history behind it and them all made it so much more memorable. After we stopped at a street vendor for breakfast #2 and then finished the tour off with a special surprise. Cannot recommend this tour highly enough!Written 16 February 2025
- joanna l0 contributionsFood and art!We love food and we love street art! Monyca was brilliant. A fun packed 2.5 hours with hotel pick up/dropoff. We ate in the markets (twice!) snacked along the way and saw street art in places we would not have ventured. On its own, there would not have been enough art for a whole tour and hope more can be discovered in the future. Definitely recommendWritten 30 January 2025
- I7487KRnancyp0 contributionsDon't Miss this insightful tour.Best tour in Vietnam and Cambodia: don't miss. Curated street food is the best, but a tour of local street art tells the deeper story as artists are the commentators about their own culture. Our guide Jackson was a rich resource of socio/ cultural/ culinary knowledge. And he was generous with good advice about our remaining time in Cambodia.Written 26 January 2025
- shaphali0 contributionsWonderful! One of the best food tours I’ve done. Jackson was so knowledgeable and put a lot of thought and effort into arranging the stops and providing info on the artists and the art. I really felt like I was able to get a glimpse into the political history and artistic culture outside of information that is readily available to tourists. Can’t recommend enough. I came mainly for the food (which was also awesome), but the art and knowledge provided was what stood out for me.Written 23 January 2025
- AttitudeAdjuster0 contributionsI preferred this to the food tour, Jackson is a great guideReally pleased that once again Jackson was the guide for this tour. There were only 2 of us in the tuk-tuk with him and we had such a great and informative time. Breakfast in the BKK market was great fun and then we set off to see some street art. Some of the stories behind the paintings are really sad. We were really surprised when we arrived at Starbucks but there is a really interesting wall painting in there. As well as visiting the Kampot Pepper outlet, we had another street food experience before returning to our hotels. I do recommend this company.Written 9 January 2025
- scaredykat20160 contributionsMorning well spentI was part of a group of three and the small number made the experience very friendly as well as informative. JB was our host and he managed to tell us lots of local history and the stories behind some of the street art. The tour started with breakfast and a tour around the market before heading off to see the street art. We stopped for more food towards the end and then were taken for a surprise visit to a cocoa temple. One of the most enjoyable tours for me to date and I would highly recommend it.Written 8 January 2025
- juliettej9850 contributionsAmazing tourAmazing tour ! Not just food tour (even if the food was delicious) but a great fun way to get to know and love Phnom Penh, its history and culture from a different angle. Ducky is a wonderful guide, passionate about Cambodia and the (underrated) city of Phnom Penh. Don't miss it !Written 8 January 2025
- Simone L0 contributionsAmazing Art Tour with a very good guideAmazing tour with Jackson, so many different types of art and places we had never known without him. He was very well informed about the artists and the places we visited varying from streetart to galleries. And it was really interesting talking to him about daily cambodian life. The end at the Restaurant ‚wild‘ was a wonderful, shady and calm place with delicous Cocktails and food . We can highly recommand the tour with his driver tooWritten 30 December 2024
- Sarah W0 contributionsAmazing food tour of Siem ReapBooked a last minute morning food tour in Siem Reap the morning before we left Cambodia and had the BEST time. My friends were feeling sick so I was on the tour alone and had the best time. My guide Rorm was very knowledgeable and fun and picked very good spots to try. All the food was delicious and it was a great way to capstone my time in Siem Reap. Would definitely recommend as it was a perfect way to see a different side of Siem Reap and escape the super touristy parts.Written 30 December 2024
- Catwoo220 contributionsInteresting and tasty tour - book it now!Fantastic morning visiting places we never would have found on our own. Jackson was a brilliant guide - this tour was way more than we expected. Tasty food, really interesting art and a great guide - definitely recommend! It was everything you want from a tour - book it now!Written 27 December 2024
- H1883FQmelissam0 contributionsDoughnuts and street art galoreJackson is an amazing guide whose honesty in explaining the art opened my eyes and helped me appreciate even more this beautiful country. The markets displayed the fresh produce at its best and the food was delicious! Who doesn’t love two breakfast: and three versions of a Cambodian doughnut? And the coffee? To die for! Loved it all!Written 27 December 2024
- docchill0 contributionsStreet food and street art. Seeing the city through a different lensFascinating tour with Jackson starting with breakfast and sweet treats in a local market. After that we explored some amazing street art for an understanding of local culture and local artists followed by breakfast number 2! I loved every minute and saw a side of Cambodia I would never have found.Written 15 December 2024
- emilyf790 contributionsart & food = perfect comboFantastic tour with Monyca! Loved sampling a variety of treats from multiple types of rice noodles and fermented rice to tasty fried taro snacks! Learning about the recent development of new urban art in Phnom Penh City was a unique perspective into the city and a great backdrop to enjoying the local food. Absolutely recommend doing a food tour early on in your Phnom Penh experience so you know what foods you want to come back and eat again during your stay in the city!Written 1 November 2024
- MyNameIsJimmy0 contributionsDifferent sides of the cityThis was a great tour, and an interesting way to see Phnom Penh. The stories behind the artworks gave them a whole new meaning and relevance. Both the breakfasts were great, too. I just didn’t enjoy the frequent and inescapable touching from the guide - it’s not a cultural thing because I’ve spent several months in this country, so I hope he can work on this.Written 4 August 2024
- Kirra H0 contributionsHighly recommendedMorning street art and breakfast tour with Jackson was fabulous! It gave us real insight into the market and local foods. We enjoyed the back laneway street art heightened by a touch of Cambodian music. Well worth doing and can highly recommend to get some local insight you would not easily do yourself.Written 2 August 2024

Jackson was the perfect guide and very informative on the local cuisine and history. He introduced us to so many fantastic street food vendors - none of which we'd have found ourselves (or indeed been brave enough to try!). We all loved every minute of the tour. I didn't mention this to him but I also occasionally guide food tours in my home city (for a friend's business) and he was quite brilliant handling a 'tricky' guest and providing all the rest of us with the best experience - that isn't an easy thing to do. Can't recommend him more highly and my adult children said it was the best thing we'd done on the holiday!

My friend and I had a great time on this food tour through Cambodia’s capital. The tastings were just the right size considering there were 20 of them. And the variety tastings gave a very diverse and tasty view of popular Cambodian dishes. Our tour guide, Jackson, and our tuk tuk drivers were all very friendly and accommodating. Jackson gave us a lot of interesting information about the food, its history, and the culture of the area. He also went out of his way to make sure my friend and I were dropped off at our AirBnB afterwards. I highly recommend this tour as a great way to get a taste of Cambodia and experience some of the city’s night life.

This tour was top notch! There was so much to try and all reasonable portions so you got to try so much. Our guide, JB, was great- a good balance of chat and eating. There was a lot of different things to try which was amazing and he was also a bit flexible with our options. No pressure, but some encouragement, to try anything we didn’t want and an understanding of our likes and dislikes. A highlight for me was the pork bbq ribs from a stand on the side of the road. Mr Nim our remorque driver was extremely helpful and friendly- always there to offer beer or water at every occasion! As was Mr Lucky who captained the other remorque. I loved that our drivers came and joined us for our main meal and we spoke and shared food with them as well as JB, all while listening to a live band.
The whole evening was wrapped up nicely with a chill cocktail and chat. Although everything was timed to perfection and there was obviously a schedule to keep, nothing was rushed and seemed to flow really nicely. I would 100% recommend this tour when in Phnom Penh as JB also gave us other suggestions on things to do in the local area and where we were headed to next!

Jackson and Arthur were my tour guides for the night. I was the only person that booked the food tour that evening, so it was essentially a private food tour for me. At first, I thought it'd be awkward. But Jackson shared that parties of 1 occur about 5x a month, and he and his guides always tries to honor the bookings, even if they don’t make money from 1-person tours, because they want every single individual to have a positive and memorable experience of Cambodia.
Jackson and Arthur brought me to plenty of good local spots that I wouldn’t have other found or experimented with by myself. They enthusiastically ate the food with me, and we had great conversations at each location. Jackson and Arthur were knowledgeable about the different foods stops and the various dishes that were ordered, and therefore they were able to provide many interesting commentary and context.
The food spots they took me to were all very delicious. There were a good mix of food, such as standard fare with local flairs, as well as more exotic and adventurous types of food. I enjoyed sampling all the food. I have taken many food tours before and this was one of the top experiences. Very well put together, very well thought out. Also they prioritize customer experience above all else.

I booked the tour as a solo traveller to get a beginners guide to Cambodian food and I was blown away. JB and Mr.Nin were fabulous guides, explaining the foods, ingredients and answering any questions we had about the food. I could not have eaten another thing by the end or be cared for any better. The food was phenomenal and although I'm not adventurous, was encouraged, not forced to try new things, which I appreciated. I can not recommend this tour enough. It's a must do for anyone new to Cambodian food.

The guide, Jackson, and the drivers could not have been nicer and more accommodating. The tour takes you around to a great variety of different places that I would never have found on my own. My only complaint is that is is quite expensive, especially for people not interested in drinking. I think there should be a separate price for people who do not want to drink alcohol.

Thank you so much for your review, we appreciate it and really appreciate your feedback. In Cambodia the price of softdrink and mocktails is actually the same as beer and cocktails, so a little difficult to make a separate price as they cost the same. In some cases beer is cheaper than a soda for example. Having said that, we are so happy that you enjoyed the tour and that we got to take you to places you may not have found yourself.

The tour was amazing. We stopped at some of the finest street food stalls in Phnom Penh. Our tour guide Jackson has been doing this for years and it shows. He has a vast understanding of the food scene in the city and explains the meals and the history behind each one. He kept the momentum going and engaged with everyone. The food was phenomenal, come with an empty stomach and an open mind for fun. You can NOT go wrong booking this tour. Thank you so much Jackson and J.B. You brought the magic to this experience.

We’ve been on many food tours in cities we are visiting for the first time because we believe local cuisines are quick - and delicious - windows to a people’s culture, history and beliefs. The Ultimate PP food tour with Urban Forage that my husband and I signed up for ranks up there as one of the best. From start to end, it was a party for our senses and our food guide, the oft-lauded Jackson was the consummate gracious and fun host to us and to another couple. He’s clearly a very experienced food tour guide who knows the Khmer culinary scene at the back of his hand. He customised the programme to suit our dietary requirements and preferences, and throughout the night introduced one amazing food item after another in vastly different settings we would never have found on our own, one of which was a raucous restaurant with live music AND live broadcast of the SEA Games football match between Cambodia and Indonesia. Imagine dining against a backdrop of such unrestrained merrymaking! We ended the night, pleasantly buzzed from the cocktails we had ended the amazing experience with, feeling like we had eaten and learnt much about this lovely country and best of all, had spent the evening with good friends.

On my first night in Asia the markets and busy streets felt daunting, Jackson helped make me feel at ease and welcomed me to Cambodia. Our food tasting tour gave me a chance to taste some delicious local food (some of the best that i tasted in my two weeks travelling the country). One of the highlights was a tasty desert made of sugar cain and condensed milk and sesame wrapped in a leaf, so good!
Thank you Jackson.
Thank you Jackson.

The Urban Forage Phnom Phen food tour is worth every penny! The food was excellent and we never would have found all the places on our own. Everything was delicious and I will be dreaming about the pork buns for the rest of my life!
As delicious as the food was, the best part of the tour was the people! Monica and our host were excellent. Our group was a mix of couples and singles and we connected, getting to know each other. It was wonderful and would highly recommend.

I was wondering what is the latest pick up time from hotel for this tour? I am interested in this tour however I land in Phnom Penh at around 3pm. I’m not sure I would have enough time to get to my city hotel, check in and be ready for 5pm pick up. I will be in Phnom Penh early April.

I would contact them directly, they may be able to change pick up time???
They are fantastic to contact via email. Very quick response!!!

I would say so. Parts of the tour definitely involve drinking, but they are brief and not integral to the tour itself. Shauna will definitely take your child’s age into account when you make your appointment.
