This is an honest mixed review of this 14 day tour. Prior to arriving we had problems confirming our 4 star hotels and indeed this continued whilst on the tour though in the main it got sorted and all the accomodation was lovely. Overall the tour was too much "temples and Buddhas" for our liking and we felt that the trips organised by the company were an exorbitant price for what they were. We also had an issue when the insisted on paying the balance in US Dollars at a non favourable rate. They finally agreed in Rupees. The tour guide Kavi was friendly and helpful and on the final day drove us back to the south coast as requested rather than flying home. 1 week after the tour we discovered a substantial amount of money stolen but we cannot say when/where this went either during this 2 week tour or an independent week after. Decent value for money for the tour itself but be warned the extra "tours" really add to the price.

I wouldn't recommend this tour agency and Dinesh as your "tour" guide to anyone. I don't want to write this bad review as Dinesh kept asking to post a good review (first thing he did) but I have to be honest. He did not fulfill what was expected of our Nuwera Eliya tour - specifically, getting to Nuwera Eliya! He gave us some excuse of traffic and being crowded. Second, we were so excited about going to a tea plantation and from the pictures of the other tourists, they went to Damro Tea. You know what we got? A pit stop for 2 minutes at Rothschild Tea and Lounge where the security guard stopped us and said you have to pay and Dinesh's response was "they're not going down, just 5 minutes near the entrance to take pictures." So disappointing. He didn't take us Gregory Lake as was expected. The trip advisor page also listed water bottle and free wifi which should not be expected and given. A tour guide is supposed to impart some knowledge about the place were visiting but he didn't and was on his phone the entire time running his other "business". After coming back from the tour, I looked again at his 1 star reviews and we experienced what others have experienced. He hasn't learned from his bad reviews and it's just about quick money for him. He was dishonest with us and didn't fulfill what was expected of our tour. My personal recommendation is to go with a different tour company who is more honest and attentive.

Our day trip to Nuwara Eliya was an unforgettable experience, perfect for those short on time but eager to explore this charming hill station. The tour was well-paced, starting with a fascinating visit to a local tea factory. The informative tour gave us a deep dive into the tea-making process, and the tastings that followed were delightful—each sip was a true taste of Sri Lanka. We also visited several scenic viewpoints around the town, each offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lush tea plantations. A highlight of the day was our stop for lunch, where we enjoyed a delicious, authentic meal in a cozy setting, enhancing the overall experience. Our driver, Kavishan, truly made the day even more memorable. He was not only incredibly friendly but also highly knowledgeable about Nuwara Eliya’s history and culture. It was clear he has a passion for sharing his love of the area with visitors. On top of that, he navigated the winding mountain roads with great care, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the journey. All in all, this was a wonderful and enriching day trip that gave us a perfect taste of Nuwara Eliya. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the area in a short amount of time!

Excellent. Kavishan was a perfect driver, he took us first to the cave temple which was beautiful and then to lions rock - this was a highlight. Kavishan even took us to the ticket office to make sure we went to the correct place. It is a long day but such a wonderful experience. Thankyou kavi !

Dinesh was very nice and helpful! We even stopped at a really nice place for lunch in Nuwara Eliya. On the way we stopped at tea plantations and a spice garden which were also a good experience.

We travelled around Sri Lanka for two weeks as part of our honeymoon and were so happy to have booked a driver through Lanka Safe Tours. They were super helpful from the start and made the whole process very easy. In particular, our driver, Milan, was absolutely brilliant! He took us to all the great places and was very safe and efficient. Nothing was too difficult and he was happy to help and accommodate with any ad-hoc requests, including day tours/trips which took a lot of stress away from us. Overall, we were very happy with the service we received and would highly recommend anyone travelling to Sri Lanka to book a driver and trips through Lanka Safe Tours!

Our driver was Tharanga, who was absolutely fantastic. Very good, safe driver and good English. He was very informative telling us about Sri Lanka and taking us to all the best spots with good pictures. Highly recommend.

This is a great itinerary for anyone who would like to get a comprehensive taste of what Sri Lanka has to offer. Lanka Safe Tours is also an agency I would highly recommend for their excellent customer service and value. The tour leader/driver are extremely accommodating and highly service oriented to make sure that the tour is going smoothly, to address any issues that may come up, to provide insights and suggestions, and most importantly to keep their clients safe. I had the pleasure of doing a slightly extended 15 day trip with Pansi and would say he was one I would ask for again based on the previous comments. Hotels at the 4 star level are still relatively basic and some were outside of the city center so didn't offer much to do such as walking around the town after hours outside of locations in Ella or Kandy. Due to international travel, l asked for a half day excursions in Colombo which is not part of the itinerary but was worth seeing albeit briefly. One comment is that since entrance fees and excursion costs are not included to budget anywhere from $600-800 extra. Mine was on the higher side since I was traveling solo and often had to opt for private options on excursions like the safaris versus tagging along with another group or family. Food options were incredible and ranged from local diners to pretty trendy places that focused on Sri Lankan food with a touch of other global influences. Pansi knew I was a foodie and selected excellent options for me that were simple but great in some cases to pretty fancy. I can definitely see why Lanka Safe Tours got their ***** rating!

We went on a family trip and all of us had great experience. The country is amazing and we had great welcome at airport by guide Mr Supun. He has good knowledge of places we visited and explained history very well. Overall awesome trip organised by Lanka safe trip.

We are very satisfied with participating in this tour. At the tea factory we visited in Nuwara Eliya during the tour, we had the opportunity to learn about the tea production process, which was very educational. Afterward, we were able to taste several types of tea and purchase our favorites. The driver, Mr. Fazeel, is very friendly and calm. His driving prioritizes safety, the vehicle is clean, and the air conditioning worked well. He is also knowledgeable about non-tourism-related information and explained everything thoroughly. I highly recommend this driver.

Our group of 11 including a 3 year old undertook this tour from Lanka Safe Tours. Right from the start, when I contacted them for the initial plan and quotes, they were very responsive patiently answering all questions. They suggested booking a luxury 22 seater Toyota Coaster Bus for our group and it was very comfortable. They were very flexible with booking hotels according to our likes and requirements, finalized and booked them only after our approvals in all locations. A couple of days before starting our tour, we got further information about our guide and final itinerary. We were welcomed at the airport by our guide Thasantha. He was most understanding and patient with our group, understanding our needs and making arrangements accordingly. He had all the correct information at all times and cleared our doubts at all times. Also, our group being a fully vegetarian group, he went ahead and made sure we got the right options for food at all locations. He handled all the bookings for activities like Yala Safari, Whale watching at the correct times without any issues. All the hotel bookings were excellent, and the check-ins and check-outs were seamless affairs. Given that we were almost checking in every evening and checking out every morning, this was very much appreciated. We would whole heartedly recommend Lanka Safe Tours to anyone for tours through Sri Lanka. A special thanks to Thasantha for making our trip memorable.

The Tour company were amazing, specifically Dinesh Kumar who drove and accompanied us for two days. We did the Spice Garden, Tea Factory, Gem Stone Factory and a Cultural Show in Kandy and on a separately booked tour, day two was the trip to Sigiriya and a Village Tour. Dinesh was just Fantastic, always punctual, polite, friendly, knowledgeable of local areas and history and very accommodating to all of our requests. The tours are amazing, the people are so welcoming and such beautiful things to see and learn about. We highly recommend these two tours, and, if you can, request for Dinesh to be your driver / guide, he's a gem.

Dinesh was a fantastic host. He took us to such interesting places and showed us such interesting parts of Kandy. He was knowledgeable and polite and patient and funny. He made it such a good day! Not to mention he took fantastic photos of us as well Thank you so much Dinesh, I hope our paths cross again!

Excellent tour of the city, and key points of interest. Highlights were the spice and herb garden, the tea factory and the gem museum. Our tour guide Dinesh Kumara was the best - very helpful, patient and caring. He helped make the trip more enjoyable. Highly recommended tour.
