I had Merganser set up a road trip for me with a driver going from Tangalle into the mountains to Kandy and Ella and then back to Colombo. Their service level was excellent, always easy to communication with, the trip safe and well executed but still with lots of flexibility. Would definitely arrange a trip with them again.

We couldn't have asked for anything more. Henry was waiting for us at the airport and from that moment onwards he was there to ensure our holiday was everything we had hoped for and more. The car was roomy and comfortable, Henry was always on time and had arranged for good guides everywhere we needed them to ensure we got the most out of every visit. He stopped at roadside stalls and encouraged us to try fruits that were new to us. He was informative but by the same token he also recocognised those times when we were tired and wanted to sleep or just sit and take in the scenery as we passed. Henry went out of his way for us and he obviously wanted us to have a great holiday. The moment I mentioned that we hadn't seen elephants on our safari, Henry made it a priority that we saw plenty of them over the following couple of days. He was so patient. He seemed to easily accommodate any changes we wanted to make to our plans enroute. Everything was organised to perfection and was seamless, from start to finish....and we had a busy itinerary! I have no hesitation in recommending Merganser, Henry made our holiday a huge success.

We were very happy with our driver. We felt safe with Nihalls driving. Nihall listened to what we wanted to do and tried to give us the opportunity to see and do the things we were interested in.He was always polite,friendly ,punctual and professional. We felt we had someone who was looking out for our best interests. Nihall listened to our questions and was able to give us well informed information on the history,biodiversity, culture, food and religons of Sri Lanka. We were thankful to have Nihall as our driver.

We had an excellent Private Car Charter experience with Chris (nickname) in late December 24, from start to finish. He was very punctual - waiting for us in our hotel lobby, ensured we visited all the spots we had originally asked to see, and took us to some of his own recommendations, which was a highlight of our 4 days in Sir Lanka (Colombo, Sigiriya Rock and Kandy). He’s an excellent driver, we felt very safe in his car and enjoyed how chatty and friendly he was! He’s also a great photographer and took some photos without asking us that will be great memories for us. I would 100% recommend booking this private charter! Driver was helpful and professional and had a good knowledge of sights to see along the route during 3 days. Navigated the route and drove with appropriate care and speed.

The Yala full day safari was excellent from the process when booking through to our special day. Trip Advisor was in contact with us throughout and the whole day ran smoothly. Timing was spot on and we had an excellent driver/guide for the day. We saw many animals in their natural habitat although sadly the leopards were on their own holiday! A picnic lunch was provided - there were two of us but there was plenty of delicious food for many more. Henry Lionel was the Director of Operations and kept us fully informed - thank you. A trip which I would highly recommend!

I took this Jeep tour with Merganser Holidays. The director, Henry, did a great job with communication and then met me at the gate to connect me with my guide/driver. My Jeep had cushioned seats and seat belts which I was very grateful for. Once in the park the roads were quite rough and there were lots of jeeps. My guide was truly skilled navigating the road and traffic. There was no mic or speakers so the guide would stop and point things out to me through his window. I saw a nice variety of animals and reptiles. Another interesting sight on the way was the number of loose dogs napping and meandering on the street. The vehicles all navigated around them.

We had a wonderful day with Merganser Tours visiting Yala National Park. Unfortunately we did not see any animals in the cat family, but we saw a jackal, elephants, peacocks, monkeys, crocodiles, mongoose, land monitors, deer, painted storks, and so many other birds and animals. The lunch, served buffet style, was very good. Even my picky husband found food he could eat. Henry set up a WhatsApp group for our tour, and keep us informed. Henry was very responsive from the time we booked until we took the tour. I would not hesitate for one moment to recommend Henry and Merganser tours. Thank you Henry for a fabulous day at Yala.

Henry was a fantastic driver to have, knowing all the spots to visit and giving great recommendations for our honeymoon. He went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience in Sri Lanka and make our 2 week stay smooth sailing throughout. An example of him going the extra mile was when he was willing to drive back to pick up our passports on our behalf which we had left at our previous hotel, a 3 hour journey for him. It was a pleasure to have him guiding us.

We really enjoyed our time with our driver, Henry and the service was exceptional. He collected us from Colombo airport and took us to our hotel, where we stayed for 2 nights before commencing our 11-day tour. If you are visiting Srilanka and need a tour guide, I very highly recommend Henry of Merganser Travels who is incredible at what he does. I was a tad nervous traveling solo as a woman but Henry made sure I was safe and had his watchful eyes on me, and gave me advise at each location.. He picked me up from the airport, drove me around for 6 days around Srilanka and he made Srilanka come alive. His knowledge of its culture, its people, its history, its geography was amazing.
