- sbeagle520 contributionsGreat trip for a tired familyWe had a short stop in Istanbul but we’re also tired after a week in Greece. Burak was great. He had tons to share but his focus was on ensuring we enjoyed the session We did and would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a short or longer Turkish experienceWritten 15 March 2025
- CindyJo0 contributionsA wonderful morning in the marketsAs a woman traveling solo, having a guide to take me to the places I wanted to see was wonderful. Emir narrated beautifully and even worked out a route that ended back at my hotel. Pro tip: when exploring the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Market, go early in the day. They get more crowded as the day progresses.Written 8 March 2025
- CorduliaCrockett0 contributionsFabulous Day in IstanbulMy son and I had a wonderful time learning about Istanbul with Feruza. We booked our walking tour for the first day of our stay in Istanbul and visited the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, several places along Istiklal Street, and the Galata Tower area. We also took a ferry together to the Asian side of the city. Feruza was a wealth of information, answered all of our questions, and gave us ideas on what to do with the remaining days that we were going to be in Istanbul. Feruza showed us a city that is vibrant, beautiful, and very well run, and I highly recommend her if you are looking for a personalized tour of Istanbul with a local!Written 22 February 2025
- Q1425LRkellym0 contributionsPerfect Guide in Istanbul – Feruza Made My TripI had an amazing private tour in Istanbul with Feruza, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and engaging guide! She studied English in Boston, which made communication good, and her insights into the city's rich history and culture were good. Feruza planned an efficient itinerary, ensuring we saw the highlights while also allowing time to explore hidden gems. She shared fascinating historical details, answered questions, and kept the tour fun and engaging. Her enthusiasm and deep knowledge of Istanbul truly enhanced the experience. If you're visiting Istanbul and want a guide who is professional, personable, and well-informed, Feruza is a great choice! I would absolutely book another tour with her.Written 16 February 2025
- Nomad2196620 contributionsAmazing Experience with Ipek!My tour guide was Ipek! She was amazing! She was very responsive to texts and answered all my questions with good advice. She was always on time. It was raining heavily during the 1.5 days I was in Istanbul and even though I was prepared for this, she also brought an umbrella for extra protection. I had booked a tour to see the whirling dervishes and she took me there and waited for me until I was done. I am vegetarian and she made sure to pick appropriate places to eat. I highly recommend booking with IpekWritten 2 February 2025
- krystynam7680 contributionsIncredible experienceWe had an incredible day touring Istanbul with Ipek. - Journey318120937350 contributionsFantastic Walking Tour With EmirEmir -- our walking guide was fantastic. he started the tour at the heart of the historic Istanbul and charted a customised plan to suit our preferences mixing history and cullinary culture of Istanbul.. We went to Blue Mosque and Emir ezplained the historic, architectural, and political/social aspects of the monument and the religion so well.. he knows the city inside out and took us to taste some of the most authentic kunefe and chai through small lanes of historic part of Istanbul .. Emir was great to chat with, and absolutely went out oglf the way to plan our days in Istanbul (even if it was clearly not his task) Recommend highlyWritten 24 January 2025

She was incredibly knowledgeable and made the city’s rich history and culture come alive with her storytelling. We visited iconic spots like Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and even enjoyed breathtaking views from the Bosphorus. Ipek’s passion for Istanbul is contagious, and she tailored the experience perfectly to our interests. Her warm and professional approach made the day so special, and she gave us great local tips for the rest of our trip. - Dreamer433492728350 contributionsBest guide ever, made my trip abroad even more special and educational.Having Burak as my guide was the highlight of my trip to Turkey, and one I will never forget. He imbued me with the most detailed and passionate history of the city, far more than I thought possible while traveling afar. I've never had a guide that knew so much about the history and culture of a place I'd visited, he made exploring so much more intriguing, you feel connected to the city/culture when you're lucky enough to have him at your side. An extremely caring, fun, genuine individual who literally takes you under his wing (as apposed to just points and reads, like so many others). I can't say enough good stuff about him. Again reiterating on how passionate he is about the city he lives but also on teaching those with him about a multitude of things, none of which are usually provided from a guide. I look forward to touring with him again when next I'm in Turkey again.Written 20 January 2025
- Betty F0 contributionsWell organized tour for long layoverThe tour was well organized and the communication was great. They waited for us at the airport after a long time to pass immigration and get our next flight tickets. Mohamed was our guide and gave us a history lesson on Istanbul, then started showing us the main sites of the city. Even though they are all close to each other there is a time restriction as when to go inside. The drive from/to the airport was a little over an hour. We visited Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, hippodrome, and walked through the grand market. We had dinner at an authentic Turkish restaurant and then back to the airport. If you have a long layover I highly recommend this tour. Our layover was 11 hours, but you need to discount the driving time, the time from landing to you actually get out of the airport, and the time you need to be at the airport before your departure. We had a good experience and gave us a taste of the city to want to return againWritten 11 January 2025
- marklF3129RJ0 contributionsHand crafted tour of Istanbul! The stroll around Istanbul was amazing. I brought a list of sites I wanted to see and Emir augmented it with local knowledge and sites off the beaten path that made the experience exceptional. His depth of historical knowledge on the sites and of the city both ancient history and of current events of Turkey was great. 5 stars for his tour!Written 19 December 2024
- 594cosmina0 contributionsThe experience with Tugba was extraordinary. The experience with Tugba was extraordinary. Tugba is a person attentive to details who knows many secrets of Istanbul. She took us to many places that are not mentioned as objectives and took into account our requests. We are a family with two children, but Tugba knew how to make even the little ones feel good. We thank her and hope to see you again on other occasions!Written 10 November 2024
- Z7306SKjackies0 contributionsExcellent Tour With BurakBukak Gulcan was our guide for the day. He knew so much about everything, history, religion, architecture and day to day life in Turkey. We learn and saw so much. Additionally, he was able to get us to the front of the line in most situations. Saving us time. My husband that I was traveling with knows a lot about the history of the region, but Burak knew more and my husband really enjoyed learning beyond what he has read.Written 30 October 2024

We spent 3 hours walking and talking with her about Turkish history and modern life as she showed us around Istanbul. We promised to come again for a longer stay next time since we know we only touched the surface. Tugba provided a very welcoming introduction to Türkiye.Written 11 October 2024

The Grand Bizarre was awesome with many shops featuring locally made items. Jewelry, lamps, and quality made clothing and gifts were plentiful at good prices. Our guide, Feruza was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and very personable…I highly recommend her for private tour!

Our tour (family of four, including two kids 11 & 9 years old) of the Grand Bazaar was amazing. Feruza went above and beyond to ensure we got a real life view of the Grand Bazaar and surrounding area. From the history, to local customs Feruza is a mine of information. Highlights of our tour included amazing spices and we got to enjoy the best baklava we have ever eaten!
We would highly recommend this tour as a great way to find your feet in Istanbul.

Jamal is a great tour guide and we really appreciated how he took us to see the Balat neighborhood when we decided that the Grand Bazaar was not what we had expected.
