About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Courtney S0 contributionsThe Beat way to see Istanbul with the best guideOur group of 6 was very fortunate to have been assigned to tour istanbul with Baruk. Our experience really deserves more than 5 stars. Baruk went above and beyond for our group even before the tour began. Making sure we knew the dress code for men and women at the mosque. He graciously changed the meeting location to make it easier for us to navigate since we were staying further away than we had anticipated. During the tour, he was incredibly flexible, accommodating our last-minute changes and adjusting the schedule to fit our interests perfectly. Baruk was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the cultural and religious history of this beautiful city but also engaging and fun. He spoke English amazingly. From Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque to the Cistern and the Grand Bazaar, he wove historical details into how they relate to current history and culture. He even gave us tips on avoiding crowds and skipping lines. He helped us make a reservation for a Hammam and shared interesting facts about that location, even though it wasn't part of the original tour. We asked so many additional questions and he was always able to answer them with clarity and depth. He even Baruk shopping advice in the bazaar. Baruk made our short visit to Istanbul unforgettable. We cannot recommend him highly enough!Written 10 October 2024

- Curious5869900 contributionsGreat experienceAli was a fantastic tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about all the sights and was great at providing history of all the different eras. He also made sure we were seeing what we wanted to see. Having the guide made the day much more efficient because we bypassed many ticket and entrance lines. Ali seemed to know many people at the sights and was able to get us through all the sights efficiently.Written 9 October 2024
- nandycool0 contributionsAhmet is amazing!Ahmet was amazing and very reliable. He was at my hotel early and had a good plan and made everything very easy for me. He had very reliable suggestions on shopping too. If you want Turkish rugs or shawls he will help you through the process. I highly recommend him!!Written 9 October 2024
- Margaret S0 contributionsThree days just scratches the surface, but well worth it!The variety, pace and spread of the different places we visited made this tour super enjoyable. We learned a lot from our guide about the history and culture of this comex region. It’s easy to be overwhelmed in Istanbul, but our guide Sercan was careful not to bombard us with too much information. He presented things clearly and didn’t mind repeating things we quickly forgot! In three days we covered a lot of territory walking, taking the metro, riding ferries and cable cars, but wish we’d had more time to continue exploring this fascinating city!Written 9 October 2024
- 876muntahaa0 contributionsSolo trip made successful through booking this tour with BerrinI was supposed to travel with family members, however they could not make it. So I ended up alone in Istanbul. I was apprehensive and a bit worried as to how to navigate the city by myself. So I decided to go to TripAdvisor and book a tour guide for myself. Best decision I made! I was totally taken care of, my tour guide Berrin was extremely helpful. It was a two day walking tour and I saw most of the European side of Istanbul including using the Tram, Metro and other public services. I felt safe with Berrin with me every step of the way. She was kind and patient, took pictures for me and waited while I took my sweet time shopping. She customised the plan according to my needs. I am forever grateful to this company and Berrin for the amazing memory of my solo trip. I will cherish these memories forever. Thank you!Written 9 October 2024
- Mamabutt0 contributionsA good one!!!We had a large group of friends 16 of us. We felt that we were able to see great sights and had a very knowledgeable tour guide. With such a large group it would have been very helpful to have a headset so that everyone was able to hear the guide. All in all was a great experince and a nice tour.Written 9 October 2024

- Harper10550 contributionsTerrific Guide and TourOur guide Numan gave us a terrific tour of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Hippodrome, and part of Topkapi Palace grounds. We were a family group of 9, including my 92 year old mother. Numan was wonderful with my mother, allowing for a slower pace and he was very patient. He is an incredibly knowledgeable tour guide and we learned a tremendous amount about the history of the fabulous places we visited. It was a great tour experience.Written 8 October 2024

- JazzyJudy10 contributionsFantastic adventure of Istanbul’s old city!My husband and I had a wonderful day exploring Istanbul with Pelin, our tour guide. She was warm, friendly and very knowledgable of the history, culture and sites of the city. We really appreciate how she catered the day to our interests and pace. We really felt like we were meeting a friend who was proud to share her city with us. If we had ventured on our own we would have missed learning about all the history and sites. We’re so glad that we did this private tour and we cannot say enough great things about Pelin. She’s just wonderful!Written 8 October 2024
- Shamiq Z0 contributionsExcellent guided tour with Sema. Highly recommend!Found Guided Istanbul Tours on Trip Advisor. Based on the multiple excellent reviews we took the leap and booked a 1 day tour based on the travel itinerary and listed places that we cared about seeing. Given that we were a party of 4- with 2 kids (ages 10 & 9), preferred to get a private tour guide and cost us around $225/250 (not including tickets to sites) We had an exceptional one-day guided tour of Istanbul with Sema for our family of four, including two kids aged 9 and 10. Sema was fantastic—she spoke excellent English and was incredibly patient and accommodating, tailoring the itinerary to suit our needs and saving us money in the process. As Muslims, we could enter the mosques for free during prayer times, so Sema adjusted our schedule accordingly, allowing us to visit the Basilica Cistern instead, where we bypassed a long line thanks to her priority access. This was a big plus, as half of the cruises had docked that day, meaning over 2,000 tourists were out and about, causing long queues everywhere. She was also very thoughtful and waited for us while we prayed at Hagia Sophia, saving us €30 per person! Her knowledge of history is impressive, and it was evident during her detailed presentations at Topkapi Palace, which took at least two hours to fully appreciate. Sema also recommended a great local Döner spot on our way to the Grand Bazaar, where she guided us to reasonably priced shops. She even advised us on negotiating for discounts, which was incredibly helpful. Keep in mind that the tour is entirely on foot and lasts around seven hours, so be prepared with comfortable shoes, hats, and sunglasses. Sema also offered great tips for planning the rest of our trip, making her an excellent resource beyond the tour. I highly recommend this tour and suggest requesting Sema if possible—you won’t be disappointed!Written 8 October 2024

Our guide was Ozi (Oguzhan Ceylan- Rehber); he was outstanding. He communicated the day before the tour and was promptly at the arranged meeting spot the next day. He really was a very pleasant and interesting person. His English is excellent. His knowledge of Istanbul and Turkey through the ages was amazing and he communicated in a really engaging way. We strongly recommend Ozi for tours of Istanbul and the surrounding areas. We spent our first day in Istanbul from 9am to 6pm with him and we were sad to depart company at the end. Was an great way to start a wonderful Istanbul stay.

We’ve done many of these small group tours in the past and this was one of the best. Baruk was an amazing guide. EXTREMELY knowledgeable and funny. There’s a lot going on in Instanbul these days and he was able to explain (without bias) all of the intricacies of the politics and religious factors.
It’s a lot to fit into one day (there were lines at the mosques) but Baruk maneuvered us around with ease.
After the tour there was a large rally going on in Instanbul- Baruk went the extra mile (literally) and walked us all the way back to our hotel to ensure we felt safe.

I booked the small group tour in Spanish for me and my wife. Since there weren’t more people on our group, it became a private tour(awesome! 👍🏼). Our tour guide was Ahmet. He was very fluent in Spanish, and also very knowledgeable about history of the city and all the visited sites. Very kind and patient(he even helped us with the tramvay ticket vending machine). The whole day it felt like we were with a friend we never knew we had in Istanbul. I strongly recommend this tour (hopefully Ahmet is available on that day). Everything was excellent.

Had a really good tour with Gulce, she was so knowledgable and friendly. She messaged the day before to make sure we knew where we were meeting and welcomed us to Turkey. We were the only 2 people on the tour so it was great to have some flexibility. Tour covered the main sights that we wanted to see and Gulce tailored the level of information beautifully. She helped us buy an Istanbul card for transport on the following days and gave a great recommendation for a restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

Mustafa is a fantastic guide and I am so happy that I got such a talented tour guide. He is professional with excellent communication skills. The 7 hour tour was informative and easy with timely breaks and good chat during the break as well. He is extremly good at his job. At the end of the trip he sat down and recommended really good restaurants and places to hang out. Also he got me to a very good shops on local market. I would recommend his service to everyone in my friends circle planning to visit Istanbul.

Songul was our guide and she was excellent. Very well versed in the history of the sites and alllowed us to move at our own pace. She engaged the 2 teenagers in the group asking them questions to keep them interested in the history of the sites they were seeing. She also checked on us the next day with suggestions on the other sites in Istanbul we should see. She truly went above and beyond.

We had a wonderful tour with our guide Mustafa. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and energetic. He always asked us if we needed time to rest because the tour involved walking from famous sites in Istanbul. We concluded our tour with a delicious dinner by the grand bazaar. Highly recommend taking this tour to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Entry into the Blue Mosque is included. The hippodrome, strictly speaking, does not exist, but there are remnants of it, which are public.
