Our travel company, Overseas Adventure Travel, scheduled a private cruise on the Bosphorus on our second day. The boat was lovely, and we had perfect weather. The cruise helped us get our bearings of Istanbul, as there are so many waterways that it is hard to know exactly where you are. We saw many landmarks from the river that we saw in person. Our guide took the microphone and explained everything as we cruised. There were refreshments available if you wanted it on the boat, and everyone agreed that it was a great time.

This was such a great experience!! The tour guide got us the best spot on the boat and was very passionate about Turkish culture and history. It was very interesting to learn about and absolutely stunning views. Best way to see a lot of the city in a short amount of time.

We engaged Berivan Yildz for two days on our first-ever visit to Istanbul. She was very strongly recommended by friends who had worked with her recently. Metin was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the residences and cultural sites we saw from the boat. Very enthusiastic and entertaining. The boat trip would not have been as interesting without him.

After a bit of confusion at the start and not being able to find our guide (through no fault of his). We met Kerem who took us to the boat for our tour. He was very friendly and informative and his knowledge of Istanbuls history was great and really interesting.

There are many choices of Bosphorus river cruises. Appreciated finding this option on Trip Advisor. Basically, there is a private guide who can take up to 10 people on one of the many cruises that go up and down the Bosphorus. Our guide was a pleasant young man, Kerem, whose English was excellent (part-time English teacher). He pointed out many items of interest and city sections along the Europe and Asia sides of the river. He could answer every question we had, which were many. It was a great start to our 3 days in Istanbul.

This was one of our best experiences in Istanbul. It was not altogether clear to us ahead of time that this comprised a guide taking us as a group onto a normal ferry, but I think this format drives good value. Our group was small - around 8 people - and the guide found a quiet spot so we were not really aware of everyone else on the ferry. Everything was smooth at the meeting point, which was easy to find. What makes these tours special is the enthusiasm of the guides, and Metin was no exception. This trip - apart from being iconic - is a good way to get a sense of the scale of the city and see some things that otherwise you would not if you are just there for a few days and focusing on the Old City.

Metin is a super guide who has a wealth of knowledge on Türkiye and Istanbul history. He really walked the extra mile to ensure our positive experience. We highly recommend their service.
