- sarav2810 contributionsLovely Turkey Escapades with Turkey Escapades!Turkey Escapades is a fantastic tour operator. I decided to go to Turkiye with my husband at the last minute (2 weeks notice!) and Mr Mehmet Darga was informative and flexible and prompt in responding to every question and suggestion and helped me plan a 15 day itinerary that suited our needs: Istanbul->Gallipoli->Troy/Pergamum->Ephesus->Pamukkale->Fethiye->Antalya->Konya->Cappadocia->Ankara->Istanbul. Under the able, timely, and calm guidance of Mete, we were received at the Istanbul airport at 6am and except for the minor inconvenience of the hotel not giving us early checkin despite Mr Darga's guarantee that they would, we were seamlessly taken care of every step of the way till we were dropped back at the airport 16 days later, with professional and luxury services, vans, and hotels. Special mention must be made of the tour guides Ilayda (Istanbul tour), Burak (Gallipoli tour), Charre (or Shahrukh or Charles :-) - Troy tour), Tiget (Ephesus tour), and Can (Ankara tour) who were particularly thorough and engaging. The drivers who took us long distances were thoughtful and helpful and made frequent stops along the way - the rest stops especially along the western coast were surprisingly clean sometimes even pristine. The breakfasts were uniformly excellent and generous with vast selections and the lunches were mostly also very good (the lunches at Canakkale, Kusadasi, and Konya could have been a little better). The hotels and their locations were wonderful (the Efe Boutique hotel in Kusadasi had problems with wifi which was inconvenient and should be fixed). If we had to leave the hotel for a tour that started before their breakfast time, the hotel would even pack us a meal to take with us! The pickups and transfers from town to town were always on time except the few times when there were other tourists as part of a local group tour who delayed things by not being ready at the prescribed time (something should be done about this since it inconveniences everyone else including the tour guide and driver - maybe the tour guides should give warning that they will leave if the person is not ready within a 5 minute window! The Antalya tour seems to have been cut a little short because of this and we did not get a full guided tour of the Old Town highlights as stated in the itinerary). In Konya, Rumi's hometown and burial place, the museum headphones were not helpful or interesting and we would have much preferred a live guide. Except for these minor issues, on the whole, the behind-the-scenes coordination between Turkey Escapades, and the drivers, hotels, restaurants, museums, other tour operators, local tour guides, AND the tourists most of whom had different Turkey itineraries but who found themselves in the same town for a particular tour on a particular day (this is different from a tour company that has the simpler task of carrying the same bus load of people from place to place), was mind bogglingly impressive and all we had to do was enjoy Turkey without worrying about any of the logistics - what a feat for them and a treat for us! And it also brought us in contact from town to town with 8-12 different tourists headed in different directions! As for Turkiye, it is a physically varied and beautiful country with a splendid awe-inspiring history and culture, some of which we knew and was therefore exhilarating to see for ourselves, and some of which we did not know but by giving us a new understanding and perspective, was equally exhilarating. I must not forget the 3 day gulet ride between Fethiye and Demre! The gorgeous Mediterranean and the rocky Turquoise coast! The accommodating Captain and crew and the mouth watering fresh food! Lastly, an unexpected perk of visiting Turkey was that it drew interesting fellow travelers, accomplished and curious and easy going and fun. The only regret we have is that we should have stayed for one less day at Antalya which has little of historical interest and one more day at Cappadocia to experience the Green Tour with the underground city (we only had time for the Red Tour). I will be recommending Turkey as a tourist destination and Turkey Escapades as the tour operator to everyone I know! Thank you Mr. Darga and Mete and everyone who made this trip so utterly delightful for us. Please keep up the good work - you have brought joy to our lives and we are very grateful.Written 16 May 2024
- agstanmf0 contributionsFirst time to turkey and fell in love.We had a wonderful time traveling in turkey with turkey escapades. Itinerary was customized to our liking and the transfers were seamless. Hotels were very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast that comes with it was scrumptious. Some even gave us an upgrade to bigger rooms, we were so grateful. ☺️ The entire trip was well planned and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The guides provided were also very attentive and have good knowledge of the places. There were also visits to leather, jewelry and carpet factory which were interesting for us first timers. But if you do not wish to, you could just let the guides know your preference in advance.Written 29 December 2023

The tour guides in each city were very knowledgeable. Hotel in Istanbul was centrally located. All hotels were excellent. Mr Mehmet was very responsive during the trip. The airline cancelled one of our flights as we were on our way to the airport. He was already rebooking us before we even knew it had been canceled. Highly recommend.Written 25 April 2023

- ignryan0 contributionsExcellent trip in TurkeyMehmet Darga is a highly reliable person. We went on a private tour, which Mehmet tailored according to our preferences (Istanbul-Cappadocia-Kusadasi). The organization was perfect, and he was always responsive to requests, messages, and changes on the ground, which naturally happened. We were particularly happy with our Istanbul guide Kivanç who provided a lot of interesting stories about the city. We could not thank Mehmet enough for his help, and wish all the best for his and Turkey Escapades' success.Written 27 May 2022

This was an excellent tour. Exceeded my expectations. My tour guide Onur was great and very knowledgeable. The ride to Sogut and Bilecik was comfortable. It was amazing visiting and seeing everything with my own eyes. It was a humbling experience paying my respects to Ertugrul Gazi and his companions. Glad I booked this company and I would highly recommend them! Thank you so much.

The journey was worth it! Our guide Musa made it so interesting for us. His extensive knowledge about history made the trip more amazing. Loved the market too, it had stuff with the most reasonable prices. I hope all travellers get guides like Musa!!😄

Ertugrul Gazi tour was amazing. A long ride but was comfortable. I was a big fan of Turkey TV series Resurrection on netflix. Ibrahim was our tour guide. He picked us up at the hotel and lunch included. If you are fan of Resurrection TV series and history. A must see.

As an Ertugrul Fans, my husband and I booked a day trip to Tomb of Ertugrul. Nejat was our tour guide. We were picked up at our Sultanahmet hotel in a Mercedes mini bus and were surprised to find that we were the only ones on the tour. We left Istanbul early in the morning and were fortunate to beat rush hour traffic. We enjoyed getting out of the city and seeing the turkish countryside. We arrived in Sogut and visit the tomb and around. We enjoyed dressing up costumes and took photos. There are small souvenir stands where you can buy small gifts. We also visited Kuyulu masjid which is a small masjid done by Ertugrul Gazhi. It was a beautiful sunny day and we proceeded to Bilecik for Lunch which was at tiny local restaurant. Nejat was very knowledgeable about the history and we enjoyed the visit. We have visitied a historical mosque and tombs in Bilecik. Make sure you take the photos at the tour where you dress as a soldier or queen, we love looking back at them now. Nejat surprised us by offering a tea stop on our way back to Istanbul. Our driver Ali is to be commended for his efforts as well to deal with the traffic. My only regret is that our time in Istanbul was coming to an end and we did not have time to book another trip with them. I encourage you to experience, you will not be disappointed.

We have group of 2 adults and 2 kids. Are kids free?
Written 5 June 2022
Does this excursion charge adult prices for all members regardless of age. In the filters it asks for how many adults over age 12,but i have 3 under 12,does this mean i have to pay adult prices to get them on the trip. They are ressurecction ertugrul fanatics like myself, its a shame if we have to pay adult prices for the kids too.
Anyone go with kids?
