- 29MariaR290 contributionsIstanbul highlights - One day stop over - Private TourWe were fortunate to have Fatma Selvi as our guide. It was a private 7 hour tour, just my husband and I. Fatma was super knowledgeable, totally focused on what we wanted to achieve and masterful in helping us navigate some seriously unfriendly weather. She made sure we saw the key sites (The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc.), in the time and energy we had available. We'd just come off a 10 hour plane ride. She took us to some wonderful retailers at the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Market that we couldn't have sourced on our own. She chose a wonderful restaurant where we experienced some local delicacies. As a result, we experienced some of the amazing sites and generosity and warmth of the people of Istanbul.Written 11 February 2025

We toured the highlights: Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern and the Grand Bazaar. We had a great lunch spot and she gave us suggestions for our remaining days in Istanbul with a follow up note via Whatsapp recounting our options. Highly recommend her.Written 10 February 2025

Second day included Dolmabahce Palace, Spice Market, Basilica Cistern, Cicek Passage, Taksim Square with Istiklal Street. Highly recommend. Bring comfortable shoes!Written 9 February 2025

She was wonderful, knowledgeable and we never felt rushed or hurried to the next sight. We covered the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the grand Bazaar. Merve was very easy to talk to and told us a lot about life in Istanbul. We had lunch at a local Turkish restaurant and everything was delicious. Thank you Merve for making our 1 day tour such a memorable one.Written 6 February 2025
- amjadk4780 contributionsFantastic 1 day tour with OzanOzan was a fantastic guide for our 1 day tour. Very knowledgeable, very easy going, and very flexible with the plan for the day. His local connections were able to connect us with local merchants selling products we were interested in purchasing. Thank you again Ozan!Written 6 February 2025
- 712katelynp0 contributionsFantastic Tour!!We did the 1 day walking tour. Kamal was a wonderful guide! He was extremely knowledgeable, and could answer all our questions without fail. He was also very patient and considerate of my personal condition (having to walk slowly and take multiple breaks). I like that there is a level of independence about the tour, and we have some time to be able to browse certain areas after having learned the history. I like how close all of the sites were to eachother, it made it easy to get from one site to another with ease, regardless of the weather and your personal level of fitness. Highly recommend!Written 6 February 2025
- Tourist3053440 contributionsExcellent Experience in Istanbul with AhmetWe spent two days touring Istanbul with Ahmet on a private tour. The first day was entirely on foot, and the second day we used public transportation, so there’s no need to book additional transfers. We had a great time—Ahmet is very polite and respectful, and he was really engaging with our children, who are between 15 and 19 years old. He speaks perfect Spanish, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We left Istanbul with wonderful memories thanks to him. Highly recommended!Written 5 February 2025

The transport was very comfortable, so convenient having g wifi access. The driver stopped regularly for breaks. Volkan was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about Gallipoli and Australia’s involvement. It was so helpful to hear the story from Turkey’s perspective and to walk through the sites as he told the stories. It was hot but he found shady spots, moved us along gently when we needed to get to the next place. Highly recommend this tour. Great English. And he found a very affordable but tasty place for lunch.

It was certainly worth taking the private day tour to Gallipoliand the surrounding sites. Sercan was a great and knowledgeable guide.
I valued the flexibility of being alone and being able to say how long I wanted to spend somewhere.
Quite an emotional experience.
I highly recommend this tour and guide

It was an incredibly moving and emotional experience and we were all thrilled to have been able to have the opportunity to share it. Our guide Ekrem was superb, knowledgeable and informative and the trip was made better with his humour and he looked after us well. The driver was awesome, dealing with some very gnarly city traffic to get us there and back safely. A very highly recommended trip for any Anzac tourist

Gallipoli is a long way from Istanbul and we only had the day to travel down to see it and pay homage to our fallen heros.
Guided tours Istanbul picked us up at our hotel at 7.30am and returned us at 8pm.. We travelled in a luxurious vehicle and what Mustafa our guide didn’t know about Turkey and particularly the allied offensive at ANZAC cove wasn’t worth knowing. It was a faultless day that we would do again in a heart beat.
Our thanks go to Mustafa for making it a day we will always remember.

It is a long drive to Troy and Gallipoli, the comfortable minivan was good. The driver and guide Volkan ensured we had enough bathroom and lunch breaks. We visited Troy on the first day, which meant we visited the Gallipoli WW1 sites earlier the next day as the weather was hot. Volkan had a wealth of knowledge and was adept at arranging visits to the various Gallipoli sites avoiding buses and crowds. A memorable couple of days.
