Overview
Visit some of Jordan’s most spectacular places on a 2-day trip from Jerusalem to Jerash, Amman, and Petra, and spend an unforgettable night around a Bedouin campfire. This is a convenient, hassle-free way to cover some of Jordan’s main highlights on a quick trip from Israel, with logistics taken care of so you can focus on ancient Roman architecture, Amman’s vibrant downtown, and the gorgeous rock-cut tombs of Petra.
What to Expect
Meet a driver in central Jerusalem on Day 1 and then cross the Jordan River Valley as you travel into Northern Jordan, passing a 12th-century Crusader castle along the way. The first stop is the ancient Roman city of Jerash, where you’ll find well-preserved streets, colonnades, mosaics, and theaters dating back thousands of years.
Next, head to Amman's bustling downtown to see Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic ruins set high above the city center. The day concludes at a Bedouin camp in Petra—with a Bedouin dinner served by a blazing fire.
On Day 2, wake for a guided tour of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient Nabatean city. You'll enter through the winding Siq, a narrow slot canyon. Following a packed lunch in Petra, begin the return trip to Israel, where this tour concludes at the original departure point.
